I got mine today and was surprised that the travel is so slight that you doubt that it is “kinetic” at all. Had to take it apart to verify it had any sort of movement but I’ll have to try it out tomorrow.
Just set up my dynamic hold down, will be loading next week. Already had the decapper on my FA X-10 and I love it. Been telling other X-10 owners its a must have. I'm sure this die will also work great.

There are two springs at the top, a pre-load spring that allows about .062" of travel, then the full strength spring that does the actual holding
