The dynamics of the NEN are so clever that it makes a lot of sense what he did. He just made an internal vow just like Kurapica, but much more powerful because of the restriction he gave himself. Killua told Ikalgo “there’s a difference between risking your life and throwing it away” and that’s the difference between Kurapika and Gon. Kurapika, and the rest of the characters in the show including Killua, were risking their lives in that war, while Gon, at the end with Pitou, threw his life away because he reached an extremely low point with his self worth. It’s not supposed to be a big typical shounen victory, it’s supposed to be a tragedy.

I just wanted to mention that the reason Pitou's nen was able to continue fighting even after their death was an example of what Phinks and Feitan mentioned at the auction when they ran into Gon and Killuia (Post-Mortem Nen). They said they couldn't kill the chain user because of the potential of Kurapika's nen coming after Chrollo while he was defenseless. It would be scary strong considering his grudge toward the troupe, much like Pitou's commitment towards protecting the king in this episode.

Here we see Gon turn Pitou's head into literal paste and say "I did it Kite, just like you taught me" in reference to him crushing their head and actually killing them unlike what he did to the 100 armed ant.

My favorite episode is finally here. I know the best part for fans is seeing adult Gon but for me its seeing Gon revert back to being a naive child just moment's before he makes his transformation. What I love about this is some of the differences and similarities between this and the fights/confrontations we've seen from Gon. He's almost always driven by an intense desire to win and has no regard for his well being as long as he can one up his opponent. But with this "fight" he's driven by so much grief and guilt that he believes the only way to right this situation is to "end" it all and take Pitou with him.

When Kilua showed up Gon had no clue how to respond because he had no intention of living past this moment.

@@Madmax-jg7kw The thing is, most stories, specially shonen manga, use the topic of innocence like being super duper good, with a kind heart of gold, but thats no really the raw meaning of it. "a pure, guileless, or naive person." Thats innocence, Gon is one of the most pure characters I know, as Zepairu said (the crafter guy from York shin) Gon doesnt care about moral definitions of good or evil. For us, the watchers, Gon is an hipocrat and a monster, but thats because he is pure of mind. Also, he is a child so those characteristics can be more exagerated. This is literally a tantrum from a broken little boy that felt grief and guilt for the first time
A good person would have stopped pitou / A bad person would have done something either more sadistic or just the same Gon did but laughing or smiling. But if you look into it, Gon just did what He thinks is right and fair; He blew Pitous head, as kite thaught him and also with the arm thing being a call back from when pitou broke his own arm as a sign of compromise "you can have my right arm" and obviously he explicitly says "I'm happy, Im like kite was at tha moment (right-armless) I feel I've redeem some"
he is pure, that means he is as good and as evil as he wants to be. Thats why he has such insane forgiveness and compasion but also merciless double standars

Gon is the only one besides Netero that completed their mission and did not hesitate, which would have meant the end of humanity. You call that kid for wanting revenge for his friend and mentor. Gon throughout the show gave every opponent, even the bad ones a chance to change and be better, but yet people like you call him a monster when even in the end he gave Pitou a chance, but she instead wanted to kill him so wa she supposed to what.......let the real monster with no values do that?! Also Pitou litterly killed hundreds of thousands for the cocoons outside the palace. The king and royal guards to the end wanted to destroy humanity, but Netero and gon are the only ones whose actions resulted in the mission being completed. Had they shown mercy, which killua himself said to not hesitate before going on the mission, they would have died. Gon was only alive cause of his conviction to avenge/save kite and in turn saved the world. It is very disingenuous to compare gon to beings that slaughters thousands of small children and innocent families and feel ni remorse. Gon has done nothing irredeemable and infact his actions are the reason Pitou did not kill all of them after the surgery. Gon and Netero are the real heroes of the chimera arc and did their job for the greater good, whether directly like Netero or indirectly like Gon. In the end what matters is results and people like you would be the end of humanity if we faced similar situations. The king killed people cause he was bored=redeemable Gon kills the enemy that slaughtered thousands and potentially millions and also killed your mentor and friend=monster like the king was 🤣🤣🤣🤣 By that logic a father killing a serial killer that killed his daughter and countless others for his pleasure that escaoed the system and was never caught is the same as the serial killer is in terms of morality and actions. Follow your own logic and see how far that takes you.

One of my favourite lines is Gon saying he finished his job like Kite told him to do. Because Kite teached Gon and Killua in the beginning of this arc that they need to destroy the head of an ant or it will come back. That´s why Gon is going for Pitous head.
HxH started of like a normal shounen but definitely goes heavily into seinen territory now. Especially with the current mangaarc.
Also sidenote: Pitou standing up again despite not having a head is not her still being alive. It´s called post-mortem nen, something you can see a few other examples of in the manga. It activates after death if a emotion is strong enough (can be different kind of emotions) or you already prepared for your death and put a condition on yourself that something specific is going to happen, should you die.

  • @miguelosvaldofloresdomingu8911

My favorite episode of the series and one of my favorite episodes in any show.
Not only Gon's rage is one of the most hype scenes in anime, and the cliffhanger is epic, but there are some good callbacks in this episode.
    1. Gon is using a nen contract to obtain more power by stablishing a condition (Just like Kurapika did in the phantom troupe arc).
    2. Gon destroyed Pitou's head, just like Kite would have done.
    3. Gon's losing an arm is a great paralel to Kite's.
    4. Gon's transformation has some similarities with Biscky's, but as well has some notable differences.

Gon make a condition with his nen like Kurapika : i dont care if its the end, means he dont care he loose everthing, so he exchanges his force life to obtain the required nen to beat pitou. So he grew up to a point he was able to defeat her. His hair grew up with
Even dead, pitou's nen was still "alive" because his devotion to the king was so strong that her nen was able to attack Gon. Like phantoup troup'explain

  • @anthonymartirez4002
    @anthonymartirez4002 Год назад

So a couple things, What happened to Gon (or what he used) is what they called "restriction/vow" in the anime. It's pretty similar to how Kurapika achieved his powers, he vowed or restricted himself that he will only used his powers against the Phantom Troupe members or he's gonna die and in exchange Kurapika got stronger than he would've normally if he didn't to that. Gon did the same, but the one difference is that Kurapika put a "term" for his powers. It's like Kurapika and Gon wrote a cheque to their nen but the difference is that Kurapika wrote a price but Gon gave a blank one which is actually way worse. Gon have/had so much potential and talent that the powers he's suppose to achieve is massive so the nen actually had to force Gon's body to grow so that he can handle the powers he is about to receive cause his child body won't be able to (that's why his hair is so long and going upwards because of his nen). So, Gon only got strong to kill Pitou. "Nen after death" is what happened to Pitou, her devotion to the king is so great that her nen "zombified" her to kill the threat that is Gon. And last thing, Pitou said that Gon is as strong as king but what she meant was "pre-rose" or before Pouf and Youpi gave some of their powers to the king because it is actually believed that the King got stronger after that. Sorry if it was long but I hope this helps.

It was a big mess up that they tried to retroactively fix, he's supposed to be in episode one. Essentially in his mind he's a surrogate father and the closest connection to his father he ever had.
Fun fact also Mito actually legally had Gon removed from Ging's custody, thats also supposed to be told to gon in the beginning.

I can't understand why so many reactors never remember the rules of Nen that was established in earlier episodes...
Gon as made a Nen Vow like Kurapika "I don't care anymore if i have to die here, i'll use everything"
Wich means he used up ALL of his Nen, current AND future, forcing his body to mature.
It was a One way deal tho, cause like Killua said, the Price he would have to pay for this Power up would be WAY too huge and he would probably die.
Pitou Corpse puppet was explained by Sphinx and Faitan at the end of the York New arc.
When a nen user dies, sometimes the remaining Nen can turn into a curse if the conditions are right and keep on being active, thats why they din't dare to go after Kurapika and kill him , since their Boss was vulnerable from Kurapika restrictions, he would have been the target of an all out Nen assault that would have been fatale.
Pitou's Nen who was about using Puppeteers like conjurations, clad her corpse in Nen and turned her into an autonomous death machine going after anyone who was identified as an threat/enemy to the King.

It's not that Gon doesn't need Killua, but I was far from the way Killua could save him in-time.
Plus, Kite taught him to crush ant's head, and it was Pitou's devotion to the King that so great even its Nen after death persuit Gon to accomplish its purpose (to defense its King from everything Royal Guards felt that could harms their King)
Other thing about Kite, he was actually the one who said to Gon that Ging still alive and he is the first person to tell him about existence of Hunter and spent time with Gon for a while. Kite was a father figure to Gon.

Why is Gon being labeled as the Monster and the one who have lost his humanity? I don't think that's the case. If he was that bad, he should've killed all his opponents in all his fights most importantly the Bomber Guy in the Greed Island Arc. He always let them live for another day. Lost humanity? Remember Gon told Pitou at the start of their fight that he wanted to fight outside because he never wanted to destroy (he cared for) the palace. That's a sign that he stiil had his humanity.
Gon in this episode is just being human, in fact I believe is in its truest form. That's the most probable thing that you do or can do when you no longer take all the shit being thrown at you. Imagine putting yourself in his shoes. Imagine trusting or believing someone you knew from the start harbored ill intentions to everyone, the person who killed someone important and you really look up to, and whom you really trusted to fulfill what they had promised but in the end you still ended up being threatened to be killed on top of being deceived and lied to. Gon's action is the most realistic one. That is human nature. You fight to survive. You desperately search for justice that you deserve even if you lost everything and costs your life.

Typically we see monsters/animals as acting on instinct instead of rational. This is why it considered monstrous what Gon did, which is throw his life away based off emotion. While the King became more human even knowing what he knew, he still took a path of emotionless reasoning.

@@kc_h7h So is acting out of emotions only exclusive to those who are labeled as "Monsters"? Isn't it a human nature to do things especially bad things when we are angry, sad, or frustrated more so when we are fighting for our survival? Heck we even do things labeled as immoral when we are aroused? We do it a lot of times more than doing acts of kindness. On the contrary, those who we actually label as "psychopath or sociopaths or serial killers" most often than not tend to plan first and not just randomly kill anyone, and they always act their plan calmly. Did Gon act like them too? No, right? Zepile is afraid of Gon just because he doesn't have a "logical" moral view of what is good or bad, and he defines (by) himself what is good or bad? So what? Just because he sees Gon differently, we all see him now as different, as a "monster"? Why do we always follow someone's act or thoughts just because we think it makes sense instead of weighing it and probing it more deeply? Gon's actions were never in contrast to what society dictates as good or bad anyway.

But gon only acts out of emotions, he never acts out of logic. There's a theory when gon walked towards youpi he didn't even consider the condition of knuckle and meleoron. He just wanted to fight youpi cause he was angry. The guy sacrificed his arm because he's wanted to get even with the bomber. Even the bomber said he is afraid of gon because he doesnt think like anyone else. He's like a beast that can't be tamed. Imagine a powerfull kid who can't be reasoned with. Thats a scary thing. He even tried to kill komugi along with pitou but killua reminded him that kite still could be saved. Yea gon is totally a nightmare.
