Harvard medical acceptance rate is 3% which means out of 100 applicants 3 are accepted, it does not mean every 3rd out of 100 american student is accepted.
Harvard is hardest medical college to enter in the world and world best college. Aiims is best in india and dream to many but not hardest. ( me being from aiims bhopal accept the fact ).
Only 5 percent of student get 500+ neet out of 720, whereas 50 percent student get 500 out of 528 mcat. ( med entrance us )
Not everyone apply as it require 85 dollars. Not everyone want to waste money because it requires 94% above marks in 4 year of education ( 8 semester), 520+ marks out of 528 MCAT, research work, 1000 hours of volunteering work, medical journals, interview by professors, statement by ug professors, personal statement, phlebotomist work, medocal scribing , extracurricular like Olympic medal or other highly competitive games etc.
After grade 12 attend 3 to 4 year college, then apply to md program. It take longer in usa to achieve dr title.
USA: 155 medical colleges for 30k students and india has 706 colleges for 1 lakh students.
Still some brilliant students get rejected because of overachievers.
Both aiims and harvard are prestigious and hard, but if 2 million student give a exam does not mean student from other countries don't face stress

I first heard Harvard in my fifth grade when I saw the picture of my seatmates' sister who studies at Harvard at that time and i was 'ohhh there's was a place like that it's amazing...years later I came across with a Korean series about medicine in Harvard and it was amazing..how I wish one day I can also get to study there..btw your video is very informative thanks a lot.

if a student admit in MBBS degree in March 2023 but she/he is doesn’t want to do this course. so he/she decided to apply in ivy league university like Harvard ,Stanford and wants to complete undergraduate(premed) from those colleges besides, wants to apply on November,2023. in restrictive early action so is it possible to apply like that?(as we know that ivy league university do care about student achievements so let think the student already have some achievements, ECA etc.

Hey i am a current MS student in the USA. I want to consider applying to HMS for a MD degree. Am i eligible for it. I have a Bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from India
When I sat my medical pre-test examinations (straight out of Grade 12th) for my state in India back in 1991, I distinctly remember there being 410 "general category" seats for medical and dental students (50 dental seats+360 medical seats). There were 28,000 candidates sitting for the test statewide. That made the chances of success 0.012% for a candidate qualifying for medicine, assuming all successful candidates took the medical seats 1st (which they did). Just 12 in every 1000 candidates made it into medical school Vs 320/1000 applicants in HMS. Harvard Medical School ain't that tough. That's what I tell my kids in the US today.

I'm from Nigeria actually, but yeesh Medical school is super expensive in the US, I got into Howard for BS/MD but ended up going to AUSOM In Curacao since it was a cheaper option. After 2 years in Curacao, I'll be going for my clinical rotation years in the US. It's a dream come true( and I never got an undergrad degree first ). I heard of it when I was in grade five, I found out it was an Ivy League volleyed like 5 years ago,
6:00 all these coursework or any of these ? These includes class 11th and 12th science stream subjects ?
In Harvard's website they have written that bachelor degree from other than biology background are also accepted then what is the point of these coursework
they are called pre requisites, and you are supposed to take them in your undergrad. Also, it does not make sense for someone doing bachelor in computer science to take biology labs in their undergrad, but yea other majors work too as long as you get the pre requisites

if you have done a MBBS, then you proceed with USMLE. Why would you repeat a medical degree at Harvard if you have already done MBBS in another country. MD is not specialization. Harvard offers scholarship in the form of need based aid as explained in the video 1:15

In India, most of Govt medical colleges charge not more than 50,000 INR per year + good stipend about ₹30000 during house surgeon under UG. AIIMS charges just ₹3000 per year (i think). Almost all AIIMS + JIPMER + few other Govt + Private Med colleges are not second to none
