Guy(Ebay) in Guam, U.S. Mil. has 2 fresh CR1M's. I bought one just now. Standard USPS cost to US since Guam is U.S. territory. Long way, but, whatever. Says he has meal A and F menu, left.
@@fisherf5virginia568 Hi..Sounds like a good find!. I have only ever had 1 CR1M and although out of date, with a few Items suffering, I still consider them the best rations out there. Unfortunately the shipping, due to weight and distance, means I probably won't get another? but if I ever see one more locally, I will certainly buy again. Enjoy trying them...Im certain you will find them great!...ATB...Mick
It's nice when the packages include a lot of drinks. Even some 24h packs don't include that many hot drinks. But, in the summer I wish there were cold drinks as well. If there was milk powder in that porridge, that could explain the strange taste behind it.
Hi..Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, the lack of cold drinks would be a problem if you were posted to somewhere like Afghanistan and at best, would become boring if you only ever had water to drink. The chemicals within the oats didn't taste like any sort of milk powders?..so hard to say what it was?...ATB..Mick
Hello from Latvija! It's always interesting to watch people from other countries tasting Latvian food. Just some points about consuming the products from this one ration. First of all - the rye bread is the best when used with dairy products or honey. Don't use rye bread with buckwheat, they just dont fit. About these roasted beans - this is something unknown for me as latvian. We have good bean meals but these "new style menus" contains some weird products like these roasted beans or roasted linse. Happy to see these manufacturers didn't put any insect proteine products in our rations. 😁
Hi..Thanks for watching, commenting and the tips. The Latvian military rations have improved with these new versions. I agree about the rye bread, with something sweet, it goes well with the honey or jam...roast beans also something new to me. A little dry and would be better with a little salt added but overall a decent meal that will certainly leave you feeling full..ATB..Mick
Thank for this interesting ration. The Latvians experiment with these crunchy side dishes - lentils,, beans - interesting. It's a surprise that the oatmeal was not good. It is difficult to spoil this meal, it can be boring, but chemical...?
Hi Delicious..Thanks for watching and commenting... agreed, difficult to ruin oats but something else was added? Chemical certainly, but for what purpose? maybe vitamins???.. the rest of the meal certainly filled you and would easily sustain an average person 12 hours..ATB..Mick
That main looked very filling. I would like to try some of that dark rye bread sometime but our supermarket only sells a rye bread that is very light in color.
Hi Scott..Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, a filling meal. The rye is very malty and sweet. In the UK we have a malt loaf made by soreen, Don't know if thats available in other countries?. but it tastes similar to that...ATB..Mick
@@leehart9055 Hi..thanks for watching and commenting. Unfortunately The US customs are stripping most European rations entering the US of their retort pouches?..So you will have to risk customs interference. That said, some UK suppliers do ship international. Try mre-empire.com in the UK, Ebay UK, mre-uk.co.uk or mre4you.uk in the UK hope you find some from them..ATB..Mick
G'Day mick, Hello! Delicious got your package, untouched. Only had one of these meals, much older, Mick. Your meal looks excellent. True statement on wooden spoon, sorry. Plastic separation on bread, well needed friend. We are all tired of A brick, LOL. Chemical aftertaste is new? Must be porridge. Sugar, European, does not do that. Beet sugar. I have seen that type of honey, but never tried. Less chance of spillage, unlike older rations. I believe you ate well, despite, A drawback or two. Expect incoming Email shortly. I would like to discuss life with you, should you allow. Take care, enjoy life, have fun my Brother. ATB. Peace, John.
Hi John...Thanks for watching and commenting...These newer version rations are proving to be far better than the older ones. Although a lot of the sundries are the same, the Mains have massively improved with quality and quantity. As always, please feel free to email anytime my friend!...ATB...Mick
Hi there, talking about that "chemical aftertaste" of oat porridge with strawberries, the problem lies in that strawberry component. These are dried strawberries with some citric acid as conservant added. And that combo makes this strawberry taste so "chemical". It's not a kind of poison, just a failed taste which is easy to change for better by manufacturers.
Hi Decarlos ..Thanks for watching and commenting...It could be a protein powder?...whatever it was, it didn't go well in the oats. They would do better incorporating a protein bar if it is that?..ATB..Mick
Hi..Thanks for watching and commenting. Certainly a lot of filling and interesting components. Far more than you need for a single meal, Which is always a good sign, A well fed soldier is a effective and alert soldier!....ATB...Mick

What a shame they give you that great rye bread with no spreads to put on it.
Good morning from the Great State of Texas. This meal looked good to me. Where can I get some of the Latvian meals? Have a
good day and be safe.

Everything looked good could the taste in the porridge be protein powder?
