I’ve heard of people marking their ceiling and floor in several places. Then taking measurements from the ceiling to the floor to make sure there is no sag over the years due to weight. I put a storage area in mine too. I found the lightest thick material for the flooring so I could put more weight inside. Also, if you get up there and find plywood underneath your drywall, it is there to slow the spread of fire to the attic. Cutting it may cause some problems when you try to sell. Nice work…enjoy the extra storage.
Safety Sally says there are multiple cripples from these projects. Does not hurt to add simple railing in the attic and if you have a tall garage ceiling… don’t ride it.
