after being mislead so many times and given the run around with so many YT videos on how to freeform, I’m so glad you’ve made this. we needed this one from the loc goat himself. appreciate and respect✊🏾
Respects man.
knot locks : stop touching your hair
me while im touching my hair: Do you know how hard that is lol😅
same lol
bruh same thing happened to me hahaa. as soon as that happened i knew somebody wouldve said something about in the comments😂
Going on 3 years in December because of you bro much love ✊🏾
How long does it take to lock
It took me like a year for my hair to be fully locked but everybody is different just be patient and embrace every stage
It took me 2 weeks to lock n also I’m 6 years n I started with a sponge
I'm on a lil over a year from straight BALD and my fro lockin up heavy in the back and a little on the sides ✊🏽💯
@@rjeffries90 I’m at 7 months and not fully locked yet, still a lot of frizz but def see locks forming. I saw someone say they were freeforming for 7 months and he had a full set of dreads like 6” length…. That can’t be free form right?
In 2018 I cut my twisted locs of 13 years. And I started the Freeform process. My issue is I constantly kept going over my hair with the sponge. I couldn’t see the long term. So two other times after that I started and stopped. Now I’m back to letting my hair be. I realize patience is key. You are right it starts in the mind.
I like watching dreadlock videos, it motivates me to keep on going, but this is the best freeform video I've seen. Straight to the point, not boring and it's so positive. None of that "Pros and Cons" and "Don't get dreadlocks because........" It's perfect. Love it.
It’s crazy bro I started watching you 7 years ago when you had your first set of locks. I was getting out of the military and wanted to know more so I subbed to you and zayloc23. I ended up growing a freeform set that I had for 4 years and cut due to mold. I grew my hair out again but didn’t loc it. I just wanna say thanks for all the inspiration big up
had dreads for 3 years 2015-2018 , cut them up to start fresh but feel like i been missing something ever sense, committed to the journey again 1 month strong .
I always watch these type of videos to stay motivated.been freeforming for 2 months it will be my 3rd month on the 10th
How's it going? How are you feeling? I'm considering
Imma about to start freeform locks fo sho now 🔥
You better...document the process we all want to see.
how are the free forms now ??
Embracing the frizz
Always
Fax
I love this guys energy
Thank you
Freeform love
💣💥♥️💕
Patience is the key to free forming locks. Great video as always keep the videos coming.
1 year into my loc journey. Thank you for what you do. Having patience is the hardest part.
Almost to 4 years with my beauties. 🤙🏼💗💗 Freeform is the way to really connect with your dreads
...it'll change you depending how spiritual you are about it.
Chopped off my dreads in March. I had 15 months of dreads, only twisted them to start them. I loved them a lot, especially after I embraced to neglecting and let it dreqd naturally from there. I had four Congos forming but I had regretted not starting from free form. Now I'm basically bald and starting again this time fully free form.
How’s it going?
Yes I wash my hair one a week. but a few days ago I added some weave to protect my locs. I'm gonna try to keep these in for a month or two
After spending $380 for interlocking (cost breakdown: $110/hour) that's when I started entertaining they idea of letting it do it's thing. This cost does not include the tolls I had to pay to get to the location.
Love that i found this video. I am Caucasian with what i think is 2b hair a little past my shoulder. Ive been inspired by many things around me to begin my freeform loc journey, this helped but i have one more question. How and how often would you reccomend doing the cold water rinse?😊
Was literally gonna wash my hair before I watched this. I’m glad you said cold water.
Wow your hair has grown 😍 its gorgeous
I love all of your videos, always entertaining. You've given me the courage to start freeform, and now almost seven months later, most of my hair is locked. It's really prominent in the back, got thick ones back there. I still have some loose hair in the front, but honestly it looks alright. Your locs are legendary now, thanks for everything you've done for us
Was 6 months in free-form brushed out.. 2 days later starting again I was wrong thinking I didn't want...back at it tho! dredication baby!!
You’re locs are soooo🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yooooo, you should def make a collage or compilation of your dread growth through the years. I might be a little late to the party, but I have been watching your channel for a while now so I'm not sure if you've done this already. Keep progressing my brotha. One love ✌✊🖖
I'm a month in and almost three years natural. Ty for the info. I'm new here showing the ❤️. Your dreads look good and healthy 👍
Thank you for your videos. I've been researching for awhile now especially with Covid and this whole time I thought I wanted to go the coil or twist route but your videos have made freeform dreads so much more interesting. And the level of knowledge is off the charts!
I hope this man answers the questions I have been having... I would really appreciate it. I didn’t mean to bother you or upset you know nation, I just really want my locs to turn out the way I want them to, and have been having trouble. Can’t wait for the premiere to begin.
Just let em do what they want you'll be happy with the outcome regardless just be patient bro
Did he answer it for you?
@@907Ronald nope LOL. Basically the same things he has stated in all his other freeform videos.
@@rjeffries90 I understand that, but what about maintaining it when I sleep, and how often should I rinse it? Which shampoo is the BEST, and how do I know if they are beginning to dread or not?
@@yokubo6983 if u are freeforming wash your hair 3x a week starting out it'll help your pattern to form once it starts to form u can go 2x or once a week whatever u prefer, use natural shampoo (Dr Bronner is good) or anything without alot of chemicals dont use conditioner, let it air dry or use a microfiber towel n a circular motion and sleep with a microfiber towel on your pillow it'll help the locking and forming process. As far as maintenance that's it just let be you'll see your locks start to form n a few months oh and if u can stand it wash your hair in cold water. Thats what I did never twisted or manipulated my hair I watched knot nation and zayloc 23 (u should check his videos out) videos from when they first started freeforming
That zoom in when you scratched your pit had me giggling lol
2021 will be my 4th year with dreads... Started with rip n twist and maintained them until I seen knot nation... Never touched them again... Wash once a week and go...
Dude I love this new format! Definitely way more lively and engaging. Dare I say even a bit funny at times 🤔 anyway, be happy be natty, one love one nation
Currently freeforming started with waves been going since December. A bunch of awkward stages so far.. the back is pretty locked the top is a bit sluggish however
It's only gon get more awkward. Be patient and enjoy the ride.
It happens, especially if the hair on the top of your head is a looser texture from what's at the back
I’m starting now 💜
I quit brushing last December. No locking yet but I am totally dreadicated. Maybe I'll make a video once it locks up
great video! i like da change of content (also NO CONDITIONER)
My dreads I know are semi free form, started by back combing and crochet, dreads where about two inch long. 5 and 1/2 Years later ive done nothing but wash them with residue free and like in the last few years ive crochet loose hair only a few times Lots of thick as combo congo dread, they are around 18 inch long now.
As a guy with shoulder length 2a hair type I don’t really comb or brush my hair and all of a sudden I notice my hair started dreaded up in the back started with 3 then later on as the months go by I notice more and more started to form all around by 4 months in I had a big ass congo in the back with 8 little dreads sticking out of it I had one big dread on the right side of my head i called him Marley then small little ones on the left side
you and zaylock got the sicest dreads, i just cant with the thick locks and natural drying time in my climate
Imma try it ...my hair a lil longer already .. my sis put the twist in w love & that's tht
Haha I was watching this and touching my hair when you said stop touching em 😂
I got 6month old freeform dread and started off with twist then cut them off and started to freeform from the roots. Because of product buildup that stay on the twist it was wax sadly my dude.
Same here I had twists for about a year but I always wanted free form so I cut them off and buzzed it (wax build up). I have a small 1 month fro now so I got a lot of waiting to do for now.
Free forming my locs going on two years, only the front didn't loc up yet, lots of regrowth, but I'm just rolling on 🤙
Greetings I agree with you KNOT NATON patience and dedication to grow freeform locs.!!!💯💯😎😃🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hopefully people will dive into your library man. Been knotty for 2 years SEPT. but cannot stop playing lol
does cold water rinses with sea salt added help knots form faster, i got that type 1 hair so it’s gonna be a fat minute till i get my locs, but i’m dreadicated
Dr bronners and acv rinse works great for me, been freeforming for some years now
@Chloe Great nah lol just rinse well w water
Is this a new camera? The film looks really good your skin is really shining🙌🏾

I’ve been freeforming for almost five months now &&& my roots are already out of pocket. Hair be on the west side tryna slide all the way to the East, I don’t like separating. I’m thinking about twisting them 😭
Thats been happening to me 😂 i have a dread on the right to the back combining with one from the top 💀💀💀
Bro yu funny as hell! I know I done rewind this video 10 times! Shol preciate ya!
I try so hard not to keep twisting and touching em😂

Do A Dread Review On Baby Smoove
I commit to the journey✊🏼
I think I'm gonna start
So when you say you wash them once a week, does that mean you only get them wet once a week or what? @KNOTNATION
i like the new vibe in the videos
BOOM. 👌🏾💨
Is this how Johnathan Davis from Korn did his locks bcuz that's the style I want a d I have long ass hair
I love this set up 💯💯 you should make more videos like this
Salute
I just started back around April
Dreadicated!! That’s dope
Three years locked in July. The first step is truly the mental dreadication. Then I just stopped brushing.
Started from a even cut and I’m 5mths in and omg it does tk patients… lol… I know it’s growing but starting so short makes it feel like it’s not gonna happen…
Long time since I watched your videos! Your locks look great!
Your vids motivate me to keep my locs
Take care mayyyne. Keep them coming
so my hair shrinking is fine? I got frustrated when my hair was 5-6 inches long and shrunk to 2-3 after a wash.
Almost 1 year next month 💞
Been trying to loc my hair for 3yrs now but i got hair cuts at least 2-3 times and i think i wanna just do this
Bless up mi lion . classic video
Not brushing is the hardest part for me lol. That and running my fingers thru my hair.
Yooo I peep your hustle bro I see u doin the vids a little different I don't know how to say you say in your I'm quitting video you didn't move with the times but kir your videos feel authentik bro please don't change the channel to much stay true to the nationnnn we do what we do ✊we lokheads forget the hate forget the percentage of people not aprisiating the edukation I been rokin with the channel since before you started this set of freeforms so probably right when u chopped your interlocks is when I started to watch man been like 5 6 years bro I stg family through the komputer 💯 jamakan and Dominikan brothas 😂 still we tropiks people forlyfe ✊ knot till next time bro I'ma komment under every vid ✊✌️

Bet Ur White
Hit 2 years this past December ✊🏽
Hey bro I want to thank you for all the great knowledge you share its help me in my new journey trying to form locks but I have a huge issue I am a huge huge fan of baseball hats and i wear them daily will never leave the house without one and I only wear fitted hats can this affect my hair locking. Thank you and I appreciate you sharing the your experience.
I already got dread but I didn’t wash my hair for 3 month cause it kept on coming out 🤣 but Yh it’s been 2 years since I’ve had my dreads
I use coconut milk as shampoo. I just wanna ask whether this would ruin already forming locs? Thanks
Started free forming cuz of u 💯💯
I find Dreads uk Shampoo to be the best, however the squirt thing on the bottle is just strange I could never get it to work plus the bottle is relatively small in size
bro i just decided to freeform today then i saw this video😆😆😆 , i have hair similar to damian marley but my curls are slighty tigher so i hope they come out nice or unique.
can you freeform with around 3 to 4 inch 3a hair
Can you make a video on styling your freeforms?
5 years in the journey :)
Just started last month committed
mad respect bro!
How can I get locs with two strand twists.
What about morning routine
Great video brother!
Dreadication, dreadication, dreadication
Am guilty of playing with mine, resulting in thiner roots at the front of my head,,,,
Thanks for the info of rinsing with cold running water and soda,,,,
Soda wtf
Careful with the baking soda, it dries out your hair. Rinsing with apple cider vinegar balances everything.
2 years of freedoms for me.
KNOT NATION.
Gonna get residue free shampoo for sure, thanks.
I had locks two separate times . Second time I freeformed them they look like tree branches now 😁 I gotta show you for next subscriber video
2 weeks in, I keep looking at my hair worrying about stuff like how my hair is partly uneven or how I have a hightop and don't know what to do but i don't wanna cut my hair either
that's a sick view to like to dislike ratio
