I haven't used a system that doesn't crash (exMac user 1982-1993, 2008 - 2012). My wifes Mac crashes as much as my PC and my PC is older. I use Outlook messaging due to work which 93% of the companies use in the USA and both us have never had an office that had a Apple device except for their phones for work lines which Andriod is also available. The sad thing is that the messaging is tied to Outlook which ties to our work PC's. Plus the cost of Mac software and hardware is usually 30 to 150% more. Cannot even use a razer tartus chroma gaming keyboard on Apple any more.

bad take on the chromeos merge imo. chromebooks are meant to be laptops. android tablets are not. it's as simple as that. chromeos right now is really powerful, as it can run android apps and linux apps, while still having much better window/desk management than android. taking those things away, or implementing them poorly on android, will just make chromebooks glorified tablets with built in keyboards. and at that point, what's stopping you from just getting an ipad?

Sometimes I get pissed at how Microsoft gets such short shrift when A) all the companies are trying to be Microsoft. This whole Google is too big shows how true this is. and B) Microsoft windows has been super solid for several years now. I haven't had a windows crash at home or at work in well over a decade and yet you all are talking about android and windows crashing. My android phone has crashed way more often than windows ever did. and Android rarely ever crashes.
I doubt this actually gets held up in court, chrome isn’t default installed on anything you have to go out of your way to download and install chrome, on iPhones, macs and windows devices. The notion that if you make something so good the majority of people will use, then we can force you to sell it isn’t good business. The idea seems to be that they are going to do what Apple has resisted for so long, they're going to merge their mobile and desktop operating systems in a step towards one device computing. The holy grail for a lot of people is they use their phone as their alarm clock to wake up in the morning, use nav to get traffic info on the way to work, dock their phone next to a monitor and do their work, go home and dock their phone next to their TV to watch Netflix, game for a bit with an external GPU, and then finally set their alarm and start to do it all over again. Merging Android and Chrome OS (or iPadOS and macOS) is a step towards that.
I own 2 Chromebooks and there are millions of Chromebooks being sold as we speak, I just hope we can install AndroidOS on our Chromebook when the time comes.

I don't agree with the notion that Google MUST be forced to sell Google Chrome. However, they MUST be forced to not have their search engine as a default, they MUST be forced to stop giving their own web apps special treatment, they MUST be forced to stop spying on their users and use that data for their ad platform. The browser should be completely decoupled from Google's other offerings and not have ANY exceptions for Google or Google related extensions, services or products.
There's nothing wrong with chromeOS, did it ever occur to you guys that chromeOS works great for that market who chooses to work in the cloud? We run an entire business with our Chromebooks (and many other businesses do too) and I'm happy to stay away from both Microsoft Windows and macOS for well over a decade, I don't need to worry about any drivers or updates or crashing and losing work, our work is always availailble to us on reliable Google servers. We're all online 100% of the time, I really don't see the problem.

A Pixel notebook with GrapheneOS would be amazing. More secure in practice than Windows, Mac OR Linux out of the box.

I am confused on your not being able to use message properly on your computer? It works fine on my chromebook, and it works on my PC through the Your Phone app that comes with windows. No need for any open tab nonsense.
