That looked so much fun and a great way to practice measuring. The one child was having too much fun to even want to stop for a bathroom break earlier. :-) It used to be kids asked to leave for a bathroom break just to get out of class, your kids don't want to leave even when needed! 🙂 I watched the kids passing in the hall, and none seemed to even pay any attention to what ya'll were doing. That was surprising because you could see how fun that day was. Measuring on graphs with "how many more/less" seems tough for many first graders. They want to say the total not how many MORE. I enjoyed this video and seeing you teach.
Mayleen, This is what students need to avoid anxiety and it is called inspiring children to enjoy learning and not fear learning. If only every teacher in every school in America would wake up from themselves and see the light lessons would go at least a little bit smoother in classrooms all over the country. Pass it on.
