Because the Sentry is considered a weapon equipped by the Sergeant, it’s eligible for weapon enhancements in crusade. Just something to consider for its “double shooting” ability.
A cool interaction that also exists is when they are set up the sentry can shoot... well if you rapid ingress this guys you can shoot with your sentry on your opponents turn at normal ballistic skill and possibly deny some points by picking off a weak unit!
I wouldn't be surprised if they are broken like almost every GW new release to sell more and once a new release comes they'll end up nerfed to the ground....

I always wanted a airborn ranger esc army. I have vukture gunship, 2 thunderbolts. I kinda work out a list with them. Might not be competitive at all but sure stylish
I feel like the double pistol option would be useful if planning to use the aquilons as an emergency screen with rapid ingress, having more pistols would make them significantly more shooty while in engagement
As I normally run all of my guard, battleline stat lines as various degrees of Tanith First and only Guardsmen. This is awesome The Aquilons in my mind match the scout specialists of the Tanith (and they also used grav-chutes in the books during the assault on Phantine). I definitely plan to run a ton of scions and these new Aquilons like over 100 as able.
I really did not notice they have the Smoke keyword! I was already hyped by the godly Servo-Sentry weapon selection and the Special Rule that allows it to shoot on the moment the squad's deepstriking. I am really happy I will be getting the Aquilons from the Hivestorm package as a late birthday gift. Really looking forward to painting them and sending them to battle.

If you drop down and use the sentry weapon ability you cannot throw a grenade that next shooting ohase as grenade prevents use if youve shot "this turn" just keep that in mind.
One downside I can see of the carbines being flat 2 shots is that first rank second rank won’t work on them, meaning at short range (which you’d normally get by deep strike usually) you’ll be losing a shot per rifle overall. Not the worst thing I guess. Can always just take aim.
I'm tempted to try 6x scions 3x scion comm squad 3x kasrkin 3x aquilon 3x taurox prime 3x death korp grenadiers if I can have legends, or Chimera for the kasrkin if I can't
Can they be battleline with a tempestor warlord? and they still have militarum tempestus so I think there may be a faq/update that command squad attaches but loses the 3” deep strike for 9”
Even without all the BS rules, 90 points for a deep striking utility unit isn't bad. The shenanigans they can pull off makes them too good to pass up; lets say wyches are coming for you, rapid ingress drop between the wyches and their target, flame them, overwatch them and whatever is left is blocked from their target.

So are we gonna call 3" deep strike 'Deeper Strike' then? Models look good, appreciate the beret option. 3" deep strike has good voodoo power on top of its actual utility. Only downside I see is the potential for bickering about the sentry gun if you forget to remind your opponent it's a token not a model repeatedly.
100% sure these will be nerfed once they sell enough of them. OC1 not that bad when there's 10 of them. The alpha strike with sentry double shoot and melta range is actually not horrible, these units usually only shoot once anyway. The sad part is the only way to nerf it is with a big points increase. That feels more painful for Guard than most other factions.
I definetely don't want to spend reinforsments on 90 points unit. I will spend it on 3 scout sentinels which is 180. But anyway deepstrike in 3 inches sounds sweet.
I think this is a bit of a simplistic take? Scout sentinels are better value, but the 90 point unit in reserves is then able to do the deepstrike within 3" again. It's not something you'll need all the time, but one which you should always consider.

I see them jumping up 10 or 20 points..but broken no way. Not enough damage other than stealing objectives, killing weak infantry, or something about to die already.
They also have the Grenades keyword... that's a chunk of Mortal Wounds they can always been in range to deal
This is actually a really good point, it makes them a lot more lethal than scions but only on the deepstrike
Still think if you do the maths normal scions still hit harder

For sure, 2 servo grenade launcher attacks, 2 shots plasma, and grenades along with a bunch of lasgun shots getting lethals is pretty spicy

And if your Crusade uses Legends units, pair them with an Elysian Drop Sentinel. Same drop ability.

I unfortunately don't think this means they are changing flamers. My understanding is that the sentry basically has 2 of w/e weapon you choose.

Eh, not sure they would survive the round of combat in the first place. So not sure how much the shooting pistols would matter.

I definitely want to use one unit to clear enemy home objective. Flamer and plasma seems like the best option for that role.
Id wait until we see the 10th ed book. GW often makes the newest units more powerful or cheap pointswise to sell more models.
