- The team at Elk101 has been involved in providing elk hunting opportunities for youth with life-threatening illnesses for several years. Each hunt is unique, and each child brings individual characteristics and challenges.
In the end, these hunts are the most rewarding hunts we have the opportunity to be a part of, and we are blessed far more than we can ever express. God's hand is evident in every one of these experiences, as it is in the lives of those families He brings our way.
Austin endured more in his first 15 years of life than many of us will ever be able to relate to. But his heart is that of a warrior, and his example of patient and selfless endurance and optimism is contagious. His bull elk - and the prayer he offered - is one we will never forget...

I think we can all agree that Austin was more of a man in his life here on earth than many of us will ever be. Thank you to the Elk101 team for providing him with this opportunity, to God be the Glory! Amazing people, amazing hunt.
Always love the Hunt of a Lifetime episodes. I jumped right on this. It was so different I thought maybe it was posted accidentally and would disappear before I finished. So glad it didn’t. Great kid. I’m so glad he got to experience this before Jesus called him home. And even more glad that we all got to “meet” him. God bless you all. And what a TANK of a bull. God must’ve saved him specially for Austin.

I'm so proud of Austin, he did an absolutely awesome job on this whole hunt, the shot, the praying ( I was crying with you Austin). This was an awesome video, thank you to Cory, Donnie, John and all involved in this hunt of a lifetime. Austin, I'm a Steeler fan too, from Greensburg Pa. This is the most emotional touching video I have ever seen. If they have elk in haven, we all know Austin is hunting them.

Awesome Hunt brothers. That one is hard to keep a dry eye. I'm sitting in an airport and i'm sure people around me are wondering why a grown man is crying watching a hunting video! Congrats Austin and RIP little man.
There is so much that can be taken from this video. The strength and heart of that young man is beyond measurable. His character and appreciation for everything he earned and worked for it that hunt came pouring out in his prayer. I don't know this young man but his story has touched my heart and made me realize I need to be more like him and face my battles head on like he did. He may have passed on to heaven but he is still teaching us!

As a father who has also lost a son.. my utmost respect to the family!!!! Cory and Donnie along with the entire Elk101 crew, you guys are second to none!!! I have watched every Hunt of a Lifetime, this one is by far a tear jerker.. Thank you Elk 101 for keeping us humble and greatful in God's world..
I had to hug my 5 and 7 year old boys as we watched this. I have never stepped into elk woods I have never heard a wild bull bugle, and I have no idea how a parent would have to see their child go through this. Thank you for putting this on RUclips so all can be thankful for having experienced a small portion of what this young man's life legacy is.
I knew Austin and his family. The kid was something special. A heart for God like no other. We lost Austin, but heaven gained him.
As soon as he started his prayer I started to cry. By the time the video ended I was blubbering. Thank you guys so much for what you do.

First off I just want to say I’m not a person that cries very often and this one was a tear jerker for sure. What an amazing bull and hunt. THANK YOU all at Elk101 for doing this young man a favor. Taken far too young, you can tell by the way Austin talks in the video he didn’t take any second of this hunt for granted. May he rest in peace and talk about God’s work. Without reservation these episodes are my most anticipated of all the great Elk101 series. I can't wait to see them, but I know it's going to take a while because I'll have to start and stop as I get overcome with emotion. These hunts show SO much more beyond the technical aspects of chasing a bull in God's beautiful back country. We get to meet an incredibly brave child who battles every day, and sometimes gets a chance to just enjoy a moment. The men and women who come together to make this happen must be putting a twinkle in God's eye, because they truly care only for that young person and no selfish thought gets in the way. I pray God keeps you all safe, and leads whatever resources you need your way, so you can continue to do His work for these wonderful children.
You guys truly are this young man's heros. Out of all of the hunting videos I have watched this is truly the most selfless hunt. Love your guys videos.
I've been watching you guys for a couple year's and this is by far the best video you or anyone else for that matter has put out. I watch your videos to make myself a better hunter not to cry, but damnit I couldn't help it. How patient Donnie was with Austin was touching, heck the whole video was. Excellent work Elk 101....
Words cannot begin to express what I'm feeling. As a father of a son who has been dealt with an unfair illness, I felt every bit of joy and sadness in that story. My son has Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy; a terminal illness. Seeing how everyone came together was amazing. It was so spiritual. That long hug made me cry and that prayer was felt 😢 deep inside the soul. Such a wonderful young man! Selfless and thankful. May God bless each and everyone of you that put this together. 🙏🏻 Amen!!!

As a Dad with a child who has a daughter with heart issues (5 open heart surgeries) this really hit home. I will say a prayer for the family and hope they can accept that Austin was called home for a reason. Good for the Elk101 team to be involved with such a good program to help kids fulfill dreams of a lifetime. I wish I could stop crying....

Haven’t seen my family in almost 6 months, made the move West after graduating college and haven’t looked back. This video made me feel an emotion I didn’t know I had and made me truly miss the folks back home. Austin is soaring high with the Good Lord, he truly won his battle.

Man y’all know how to make someone cry. I can’t even imagine what these parents of these kids are going through knowing your baby is sick and there is nothing you can do to make it go away. I want to thank all you guys who put these hunts on for these kids. To take them out in God’s country and enjoy his creations and forget about what life has dealt them. When that little fellow looked and Donnie and told him thank you and when the dad embraced Corey, I lost it. 😢 Rest easy little man, you are a true warrior.
