At 39:22 , this is true. We understand, maybe, why reliable news in India is so hard to find. But is following the public's opinion the best way to sell news ? With the near abdication of neutral-coverage by the likes of Doordarshan, and it's almost abandonment of _creating_ perspectives that city-dwellers *need* to hear, we are hard pressed to be responsible as individuals. I think the era of moulding public *morality* by pure news outlets is either over, or more oppressive than ever (in that now we are manipulated rather than encouraged to be responsible). If all we are is a market, and not citizens, then we are in deep trouble.
Trehan makes an odd mediator, so haphazard and garrulous. Did she really ask Akbar 'simple questions' so that she could 'snap it up' after giving him disproportionately far lesser time and cutting him short? Taseer was impassioned, impressive. Jha was slow and intriguing..
Guys, you just broke my heart. I appreciate the panelists, but you could have brought more women on the panel, apart from the moderator. Would have loved it.
Raj Kamal Jha is partially correct and somewhere it has also something to do with the fact that the powerful people(person in this case)(chief editor and owner) in Zee, Republic, etc. is essentially an asshole and moron, while they are atleast normal, if not talented and skilled(himself and his owner), in his own case.
I hear so many times this term called Lutyen's elite, Lutyen's delhi, this and that - Never I've heard even a single person saying someone(referred to with name) or he or she him/herself, is part of this group! I wonder if this group only exist in imagination or people who are part of this group always project themselves as if they aren't?! 🤔😄
Intriguing conversation. Madhu was lovely as always.

What a discussion? When you do not understand it must be modern art. Who reads these books any way?
