Bob, my brothers and I were hired when we were in high school to sand a huge ( about 20 footer) boat that a guy was fiberglassing. Little did we know what that entailed. I’m 74 now and still itching from it. Good job, Professor 😮

So I got a set of Rolls Royce latches and receivers. What a giant pain in the patutte. But when I got it right it is magic. Thanks Bob.

Up in the north, we get to 40% humidity, maybe, in the middle of winter. Otherwise, humidity is through the roof, Bawb. This is a great example of why rodders stay away from 'glas bodies and pieces.

I seen you post and instantly started to watch you amaze me with stuff I struggled with fixing hoods and fenders on large trucks in the logging industry. When your showing everyone the way to do stuff, or at least what worked for you as the keyboard engineers may not agree..... anyway...... the smell of the resin hit my nose like I was there doing it myself. I never knew about the tape not sticking or just a about everything shown here on screen. I did feel my fingers get sticky and want to stick together tho/LOL. Ya... moving along with the project Bob in heat only scorpions enjoy. While I was in the hospital, the room I was in had the large windows, facing a tar paper black roof which attached to the building I was in. We haven't seen much hot weather this year and a high of around 77 degrees is about as warm as it gets. That heat tho from the reflection liked to bake my room. We don't have air conditioning in the only hospital here. I felt bad for those nurses walking a average of eleven miles a shift helping everyone there. I felt so dang helpless and would have to have a nurse do some/all of the things a guy does (forget modesty) but they soldiered on with smiles.... Dang Bob, it leaves a guy ashamed to whine about anything after this experience. I watched the video and got feeling poorly so just took more medication for this nauseous feeling I get.
Your not complaining yet working in heat that would kill me quicker than the darn heart attack I went through. Your a soldier yourself for mustering a video out in that heat. One thing about getting older is our tolerance to stuff isn't near what it was say at thirty years of age. I keep learning from you a lot of stuff and so from that may be able to at least help someone else do something that needs glass work. I will stop writing my book length comment now and just say thank you!!

For a little strength, lay a piece of cloth, 2 pieces of mat, start over too build thickness, and saturate so no white shows. You can also shred the mat and use it for filler, don't have to use a solid piece. Flow coat it with resin to get a smooth finish.

Bob, That is an insane amount of detail fiberglass work, WOW! You are literally building your own inner and outer door structures. This is why others gave up on this car. Because the doors were all wrong! Considering what you have accomplished so far, I think you are working at a pretty good clip especially considering the weather. I live in South Texas so I know the heat issue. The only thing I would recommend is that you also fiberglass the mounting metal of your window regulators. You've already beefed up thee hinges and latches. Time spent now sorting out the doors will be well spent at the end of this car. Keep on keeping on. You are indeed "Getting it!"

fiberglass does not stick to regular masking tape. Tape the areas you don't want to get fiberglass/resin on. You can also cover a mold with masking tape before you fiberglass and it will pop off easy. Cheaper than mold release. peace
edit: Also, cover areas up with plastic sheeting so you don't get resin dropping on surfaces because it's a lot of work getting it off. Fiberglass does not stick to plastic sheeting either. I just buy some cheap thin stuff from the hardware store.

Try using red sheathing tape nothing sticks to it but once its peeled away there is no residue. I also like 1/4 inch arena board or polyethylene sheeting, its a poor man's Teflon, it bends and with hot glue you can form simple molds
