- This is a full tour of Dreams Macao beach Resort in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. DR. This video is long but, there is a lot to see. I show everything. Very nice resort. Macao beach is the nicest beach on the island.

I am planning to go to this resort in June with the family, I like this resort because everything seems to be close, I don't like resorts where everything is far and you have to take a golf car to get to places and the car never shows up. I will like to ask you, is everything close in this resort like it seems on your video?
I've seen alot of videos for this resort and yours has been the best by far! Thank you for this! I am going to be staying here in July so this was nice to have as a reference.

@@silenthill2999 it was great ! We had a lot of fun, food was really good, service awesome, rooms were clean , nothing bad to say . We really enjoyed our week there , definitely going back . The only thing the beach wasn’t great , but we went to Saona and Cascada el limon . Overall great 😊

(Only thing I'm reluctant about is how much extra preferred may be as I've only learnt about it via reviews. Were at our budget just for all inclusive.)

Not one Restaurant has a dress code. Just no beach outfits which is the norm.

@@Ragnar0321 hi. We had a great time. We booked an ocean view in the preferred club and we liked all the perks like preferred pool and lounge. Our friends got a swim out room and they ended up never using their pool because the kids liked the water park and the bigger pools better. The only downside for us was that the beach had really big waves and we never got in the water but the view is beautiful. highly recommended for families.

It was also during the tropical storm so that could have been why. All around the resort staff was very pleasant.
Also, the sunscreen at the store went up

As a fellow Minnesotan, I really appreciated your review. It gives a familiar and similar perspective vs one from someone based out if California for example. We are looking at this resort for our spring break trip in March with our 11yo son. Did your daughter enjoy the resort?

Were you in the preferred club junior suit tropical view? That and the master suite ocean view were the only ones I saw with a tub on the balcony and it's something my partner and I really want.

This was the best and most informative video I have found on these resort, well done! One question I have is about the dress code at the restaurants. You mentioned that, besides the French restaurant, this is not enforced, is that the case? We have two little boys, what are rules for those? Thanks
You need pants at the French restaurant. That was pretty much it

@rassf1 I can't remember. Mention it when you check in. Best thing about it was room location. Closer to the ocean. Plus the tub on the deck I guess
You don't need pants in any Restaurant. If you have children there is an outside Patio at the French that you can use and they have high chairs. Went there twice with shorts on.
I guess that depends on who is working. I saw them make a guy change that was wearing shorts on the patio

I can only speak to our experience when were there in March 2022, but Preferred came with our room when we originally purchased it

There is a show every night. Day entertainment by the front pool and the water park for the kids. You can lay right up.by the beach but, the chairs are back a bit cause of the slope. They are close enough in my opinion. Preferred was good for us cause my gf had a broken foot and we stayed in the front building kind of close to the front pool and ocean. Preferred is alright. Not to much better. We did eat in the Preferred lounge a lot but, we stayed in that building. So, unsure if you wouod use it alot.

I would. Beach is nice and the lazy river is fun. You can't go to the preferred club if you are not preferred. You aren't missing much though. Go to monkey land
Is it a very big resort? Is it worth getting preferred club?
I see that they have surfing lessons, great ,im interested for my children but the are everyday in there
It's not the hotel that does the lessons. It's a vendor on the beach basically, in front of the hotel. They will give lessons depending on the weather

Our daughter took lessons from Punta Cana Surf Adventure when we were there - it's just a 5 min walk down the beach - super convenient!

Great video! How did you get the boogie board? Did you have to rent it from the surf place or does the resort supply them?
You get them at there shop by the beach. They were free to us. But, we were proffered club. Unsure if they are free to everyone

Macao is the only beach without knee-deep plastic and weed in the ocean. The slums on the edge of it are risky, however.
Booking for September 2023, slightly worried about the rain? Does it rain all day or just a little bit then sunny. Any help would be great
When I was there it rained very early morning. Maybe for like 1 hour during the day. Not bad at all. The weather is super unpredictable because you are in the middle of the ocean.

are there alot of stray cats and dogs around the resort/ beach?
They keep the dogs away. A few cats. They stay closer to the beach
I noticed nobody had bracelets on... How do they know who is preferred?
I can’t remember. When you eat at certain places you use your last name or room number

I think they are good at knowing who you are. It was weird.
Is the coffee shop included in the all inclusive?
Yes.

There was a steak spot.we only had breakfast there
Which do you prefer? Cancun or Punta Cana?
they are both good for different reasons. More to do in cancun. I like isla mujeres the best by cancun. Punta cana is good if you want to just chill at the resort.

@@creativelife108 it’s horrible..huge waves people were surfing..and rocks..u just can’t swim on this beach..u have to walk like 10 mins further down to be able to swim..we are not pool people but had no choice..spent 2 wks at the pool..plus they closed the buffet for the whole 2 wks we were there..like who closes the buffet??? U can close one of the a la carte but u never close the buffet..we were forced to eat only at the a la carte..worst resort ever!!! Management is garbage
@@katya19781 We like to boogie board the waves. Unless if it's too busy with surfers on your head then it's not good, and if it's too many big rocks that wouldn't make a pleasant experience. That sucks they closed the buffet for 2 weeks! What time of the year did you go?
Worst beach, it is for watching only not for swimming
Depends on the wind. We swam and people were taking surfing lessons
