Came back a little under a month ago from Dreams Oynx based on your recommendation, and absolutely loved it. The rooms were clean, and looked up to date. Restaurants were okay, along with the food but more than editable and some were quite nice. Service was fantastic and everyone was so kind. I used room service almost everyday because of how easy to use the app was. From small things to big things everyone was very kind. All and all very good, would give it an 9/10. Only complaint is it’s about 45m away from the airport, but no biggie. Booked private transfers. Thanks for the recco!
Best videos ever!! I’m heading to this resort this week and you answered so many of my questions. I love how you take your time to capture all of the small details and carefully let us view each area of the resort. One question I had was, are there opportunities to walk up and down the beach where you can purchase souvenirs from locals? I have been to another resort in Punta Cana where there were several resorts together and a lot of nice local shops and huts walking from the beach.

Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂 Dreams Onyx is located in Uvero Alto which is a very secluded area, you won’t be able to find shops in the beach area like in other resorts located in Bavaro, however, resorts usually have gift shops and sometimes local vendors have pop up shops inside resorts premises where you can find lots of great things 🙂
Glad it was helpful! We really enjoyed our time here and would come back in an instant! We want to go back for a longer stay to really take advantage of the fact that you can use all the amenities of the Breathless resort as well.
@@NittyGrittyTravelers would you say the beach is significantly worse than other resorts in punta Cana? The resort itself seems amazing, but the beach looks pretty rough 😅
We didn’t like the beach in this area (Uvero Alto) the beach in the Bávaro area is superior by far. To be fair, the beach looked nicer at a later time from when we shot the video because the sun was stronger

Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S.
Hola, Steve =) The Dreams Onyx has elevators. The property itself is small, but we remember that walking from one place to another was not very comfortable because there are many bridges across the property (usually above the pools), and most of them have steps to go up and down.
I’m planing going soon, they have snack bar with fast food during the day or you have to wait for breakfast lunch or dinner to eat something? Thanks in advance
Hi, Maurizio 🙂 To be honest, when there's seaweed in the Caribbean area almost all the beaches in Punta Cana are affected in one way or another. It depends on the ocean currents which beaches will be worse off on any given day. The Dreams Onyx is located in Uvero Alto and we prefer the beaches in Bavaro than the ones in Uvero Alto. It's hard to predict the seaweed situation on a daily basis or per beach basis. Both hotels have good management and they'll try to keep the beaches as clean as possible so chose the hotel that you like the most 🙂
I will be staying at breathless next door to that resort. I cant wait to get there. Your video is helpful on allowing me to see the water slides. I csnt swim so i just wanted to know how deep they are. Thank you
Currently here because of you! It’s modern but the service we are getting is just unacceptable it’s not giving 5 stars. Some staff are so rude and give off really racist vibes.
Wow so sorry to hear that! Our experience with service was super nice. We’re currently staying at the Ocean El Faro and noticed a significant influx of guests due to mothers day and service has been somewhat affected by the sheer number of people. Feel free to share your whole experience in a comment… we’re sure it would help a lot of people!
Hola! They have a kids club with a small pool with a waterslide, the Dreams Onyx also have an indoor game room with video games, crafts and sometimes do camping on the beach. I hope it helps =)
This place has no soul.. looks empty .. It is one of the resorts that are American owned .. I rather stay at grand bahie principe Esmeralda … 14 restaurants to chose from .. beach parties. This place looks like a funeral home. Great video though
We had a terrible experience there. Mediocre or bad food. Service was slow or non existent. Rooms and resort is outdated and broken. Not worth the money in my opinion. What a shame

I've visited this property from Breathless twice prior to 2021. I have never seen that water park is it new at Onyx 3:00

Is this beach cleaner then the Bavaro area? I heard that there is a lot of seaweed in Bavaro and although its more beautiful its not fun to swim in.
