Nicely done! I had to make a similar part for my drill press, the plastic hand crank for lowering and raising the table had broken, I glued it back together, filled the holes and used it as the pattern to cast an indestructible aluminum crank. BTW, I'm kicking myself because I never thought to use compressed air when coping down, I'm going steal that idea.
Compressed air is great for clearing the sand. You'll like it! Need to be careful around delicate areas though. A blow gun with a bigger tube might be better to bring down the velocity.

What type of sand do you use?
Green Sand. Its bentonite clay and silica sand
