Heres a tip for getting the rubber part in place - push it in as far as you can and then put the bolt in the nut from below. Turn it a few times to catch the nut and use pliers to pull from below. It popped right into place.
This video helped but I found out the top part of the rubber expansion is the washer replacement so I still used the washer that came with it to tighten it on. May sound confusing but it fixed my toilet seat.
My boyfriend passed away an my toilet seat has been loose for a while now and then see your video I fixed it all by myself thank you so much he usually would be the one to fix this kinda stuff so thank you for this video 🙏❣️
Guys like you on RUclips are really awesome. Lately I’ve been going to YT to get my DIY because I have a really hard time getters a “Pro” to fix my stuff and not get it done right and costing me more to get fix if at all. It’s a financial hardship and mostly a insult. I’ve really been finding out all these years how so many of these people not only don’t care but also don’t know what they’re doing. I really found this out recently when my new to me dishwasher got an error code E23 and stopped working. I booked an appointment with and “Expert” knowing it would cost more but I wanted it done right the first time by a Certified, (ya right) Bosch dishwasher repair person figuring they would Know That Brand and Model. The guy got done and said it would be $386.85. So I paid in fill. The part was being sent to my house and an appointment booked at the end of the month, 3 wks. During that time I decided to check it out on YT and try it myself. I canceled the appointment and am still working on my refund through the bank. What I discovered was the pump was working fine ( still not sure) because after I disconnected the wire harness from the door half it hasn’t had power since. I didn’t want to have the guy put in the new pump and have it be something else, then I’d really feel a fool. My point, I checked out my video feed of the guy when I was in the other room and he was checking his phone and reading paper he found in the door and never even checked the pump as I thought might be the case. Okay my dishwasher isn’t working yet but I don’t feel like a fool! Go with your gut and guys LIKE YOU on RUclips. Thanks a lot buddy-(: Lori
Damned, and I went and bought another set just to make sure that I have the correct fittings. Thank you, seriously, thank you. This is a big problem that happens on a weekly basis with older toiler lids.
Thanks for this video. I recently bought a new seat that had the same kind of expanding rubber pieces. I had never seen one like it, I couldn't believe it would stay in place without a nut on the bottom. I was thinking about returning the seat until I saw this.
Bought it from your link. I sure hope it works. I just never sat down and thought long enough -- as to why it is happening. Yeah, the hole is too big for the screw. Come on, yeah ... Exactly.
Thank you. I battle this damned thing every week or two. I have two toilets same way (ours & Momma's). So, I'm going to change these and end this fooking problem. Stupid design flaw.
Great video and it's been two years since you posted this. Is your toilet seat still tight and no wiggling around??? (Gosh, how I hate feeling like I need to wear a seat belt when sitting down on that throne!)
Always easier to leave the bolt in the grommet while inserting it. And soap or oils can drip down making a mess on the floor (n.b., oils can disintegrate rubber materials, especially considering that most such aren't real or completely rubber; many are actually silicon or similar rubber substitutes). One more thing: Applying any kind of pressure on a ceramic object can cause it to break, forcing you to buy a whole new unit, especially if it's a one-piece bowl and tank.
Hi I would appreciate any advice- I have a bar hinge & the bolts are part of the hinge and can't be screwed in, just pushed in. The only way to tighten is with the nut. Is there some other way to tighten? Thanks
Ive got one permanently stuck at a super loose configuration. Rubber is falling apart and is now stuck in place after years - the rubber *will* break down and now that we're installing a bidet these adapters are a huge frustration.
Interesting comment. I have these adapters on two of my toilets now. They work great. But will be interesting to see how the rubber holds up after several more years.
I have many faults and I'm not pointing fingers or pokin' fun at anyone. I am nowhere near perfect myself. I just wanted to point out your excessive us of "uh". You use it too often and it makes it difficult to listen. Like I said, I am by no means being a prick. If I had a booger or something, I think the gut that tells me is much better than the ones that don't. I am only trying to help. Seriously, rewatch the video. It's nearly every other syllable. Idk if you were nervous, but if so, there was no need. Your video was helpful and informative. Thank you.
True. If you spend more money on a better toilet, you may not have this issue. But there are lots of toilets like this one in homes. This hardware is a great option to fix this problem.
Literally about to go and fix both our toilets my parents and maybe a few at the church. Thank you so much for this.
So glad my video was helpful to you!

Thanks!
Just ordered mine fro Amazon.
Thank you so much worked like a charm. I didn't even need soap I was able to twist pinch and push down and it went right in.
Yes! I found how to fix the same problem as you, the other videos are repeating the same thing! Big thanks 😊
@@nab1uk thanks for watching and glad the video was helpful to so many.
So far these are the best adapters I've seen, thank you!
You can see the date of this video. I have not adjusted the seat since I posted this video. It is still perfectly tight. Thanks for watching!

Excellent, just what I was looking for to fix this recurring issue. Thanks for the helpful, clear walkthrough!
Glad it helped! Please give the video a thumbs up for me.

that worked. One side was just like you said, the other side couldn't be tightened that way so I had to attack it from the top. Thanks!
Be sure to pick up the Amazon hardware kit as well. That will permanently fix the loose toilet seat. Thanks for watching. Please hit the thumbs up.

Me too...the holes on my toilet are almost 3/4 of an inch in diameter!
Thank you!
@@Cookiekeks thank you for watching!
Will this work with the mounting plate on a bidet seat? Specifically BB-2000?
Thank you. I battle this damned thing every week or two. I have two toilets same way (ours & Momma's). So, I'm going to change these and end this fooking problem. Stupid design flaw.
Thanks! I had no idea about this!
Thanks for watching. And just so you know. My seat is still tight. Have not messed with it since the video.

Sorry you disapprove of the video. But thanks for watching anyways.
Great video. Too bad Kohler couldn't be bothered to do it right from the get go!
Tell me about it

Have you though is buying a new toilet seat? One with more standard hinges?
So it essentially functions like a wall Molly ?
Good analogy. Yes you are correct. And, my toilet seat has not loosened up once since I posted this video.
