Undeath came up on an end of year 'Best of...' list when I was looking for something new and heavy. I'm super grateful they did. I need to get some records on order!
I like Undeath, I have their two albums, but seeing them live, and seeing their last Live Album cover, I think they are too cartoonish for their own good. Live, the singer's banter does not sound evil enough, but his voice is pretty good for a Death Metal band. Perhaps I am being too harsh, and I am expecting current bands to carry that evil vibe from the past, from when I first saw Death Metal bands, and that is just not the case now. It is a shame. Still, Undeath is a pretty cool band.
That evil vibe has really gone away. Even the back metal bands feel cuddly now. Granted I was a kid at the time, but I remember a sense of dread going into shows in the early 90s. I wish I could feel that again. There are no more boundaries to cross.
They are unbelievably tight live!
I didn't know these guys, I saw them on a top 10 metal album 2022, and they certainly deserve it, good job.

Undeath rules. Saw them twice in the last 12 months, chatted with Alex a bit. They're the best.
