This game got me into MK. I couldn’t believe Liu Kang died... when I saw Kung Lao turn into Shang Tsung, I couldn’t understand why, but as I learned, Tsung could transform. I also didn’t realize IT HAS BEEN 18 years since Kang was killed and now he’s a god!

It's definitely one of the best MK games out there. I had the most trouble getting past Moloch unless I played as Johnny Cage haha. I used one particular combo with his Nunchaku to beat him.

You have to give this game more credit, it set up major players for deception and so on. Although I find it hard to believe that the deadly alliance killed all those warriors.
I think the Shao Kahn they killed was likely Reiko. (since his mk4 ending has him becoming the next shao kahn) I mean, how else did Shao Kahn come back after dying in MK3?

So technically speaking.....its reptile fault that everything happened . He couldn't get to shao kahn in time before the deadly alliance murdered him. Then gets distracted only to get his body taken over by the dragon king which then cause deception to happened and with that many fighters made the whole armageddon thing and the winner of that was unfortunately shao kahn thus causing that new timeline in the current mk titles

@@siosio6935 No it's not. Deadly Alliance is a direct sequel to MK4. The story up to that point is Liu Kang wins both mortal kombat tournaments(MK 1&2), and beat Shao Khan in his invasion(MK3), then beat Quan Chi and Shinnok in MK4. So from logic, there's no way that same guy loses to just Shang and Quan Chi here
I mean, remember in the reboot, Kung Lao beat Shang Tsung and Quan Chi at the same time

I wonder if MK12...it's not too soon to be talking about MK12, right? Anyway, I wonder if MK12 will have the whole time aspect totally backfire on whoever is wielding the hourglass and accidentally resurrects Onaga. It seems they've been teasing him for a while, as well as Daegon & his brother Taven. Let's not forget we haven't seen Ashra, Li Mei, Havik, and Hotaru in what seems to be forever now. I think it's time (HA! No pun intended) to bring them into the new generation and a second chance. They could also bring back other people we all love like human Smoke and Rain who have also been teased a lot. None of these characters have been seen in quite a while and with this conflict of time, they could totally bring them back.

To this day it was a huge mistake of the creators to kill Liu Kang. Shujinko and Taven, as interesting and cool both were, never managed to fill the gap Kang left behind! A dumb idea (long term wise), which led to just more chaotic writing (armageddon was nothing but a mess, which is understandable that they rebooted that whole damn thing). Not saying the story of the new games are perfect either, but thanks god Kang finally returned to his former glory in MK11 back (and beyond).

I mean according to the DA’s estimations Liu Kang and Shao Kahn were the only two powerful enough to stop them which is why they felt they had to eliminate those two before being able to move forward with their plans. For better or for worse original timeline Liu Kang and Shao Kahn>Raiden and to the DA’s credit they were right, because DA’s story had the DA defeat/kill all who challenged/confronted them including Raiden.
The way Raiden says "Kung Lao mastered Bo Rai Cho attack makes it look like he learned Spirit Fission and used against Shang Tsung"

So... Shang Tsung and Quan Chi violate the rules of Mortal Kombat to kill Lui Kang and let Shang Tsung take his soul, giving Shang Tsung all of Lui Kang's fighting ability, they plan to take over the realms with the Dragon King's army, and the Elder Gods are just gonna sit around and let them do it if Raiden hadn't come down to plan a counter-attack on his own? Seriously? Man, the Elder Gods are really bad at their job. Every game, I feel like the Elder Gods should be doing something.
But still, I like the story of this game and Deception, don't get me wrong. Deception was one of my favorite games growing up next to Armageddon, and wouldn't have been possible at all without this game. I appreciate the game, but man I look back and realize the Elder Gods never seem to do ANYTHING. I mean, the only time they seem to do anything is when they banish Shinnok to the Netherrealm (but don't stop him from trying to take over the other realms), and in Armageddon they foresaw that the combatants would one day grow too numerous, and have Blaze and the Pyramid put in place. However, both instances, they don't like... solve the problem. They just make it worse. Shao Kahn ends up beating Blaze and screwing that entire timeline, and the Shinnok thing they basically just leave it alone when he comes back to try and take over earthrealm.
Yeah, the elder Gods are indeed crap. But remember in Mortal Kombat 9, they told raiden that the tournament itself wasn't meant to actually "prevent certain outcome" or protect earthrealm, but to "maintain balance among the realms." In a sense, they aren't much different to havok, the cleric of chaos, or even Kronika herself. On the surface, it seemed like Kronika was just some power hungry titan or whatever who wanted a perfect era where she ruled in Mortal Kombat 11. But what she was aiming for ultimately, was to keep the balance of strife and war, much like the elder Gods. She specifically targeted raiden and lui-kang, because apparently, raiden himself disturbed the balance of darkness by killing shinnok, and the balance of peace, or light, had the upperhand. Kronika's daughter Cetrion, was a diety of light, and shinnok was of darkness. Again, she simply wanted to revive shinnock to add a bit more balance between both sides. Raiden explained this to Jax in Mortal Kombat 11 near the end in the battle on the ship. The Elder Gods don't care about peace. Only balance in the end. Again, yes, they are indeed trash lol
They Should Have Made a Champion to Fight With Raiden's Earthrealm Warriors in this Game.I think a Way to Deal with Shao Kahn with Blaze's Power is To Revive Liu Kang ( the Right way) and Making Liu Kang Their Champion and Have Him Fight and Defeat Shao Kahn with Blaze's Power( This Liu Kang would be Massively more Powerful than Even Dark Raiden because he has The Elder Gods Powering Him Up).

Last time I checked, Fujin became the new protector of Earthrealm after Raiden ascended to Elder God in Mortal Kombat 4. So, shouldn't it be Fujin aiding the Earthrealm heroes against the Deadly Alliance?

Anybody notice that Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is sexist. Most of the female endings ends with the female being killed, harm or embarrassed. Only Kitania's ending is pleasant; and it is not her being a glorified champion.

Also, it took literally one attack from Quan Chi of all people to incapacitate him. Whether he deserved to be replaced or not is not the subject, it's how easily he was killed that bothered me. He won fights against the likes of Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Shinnok, Scorpion, Ermac... and all of a sudden one attack was enough... for someone who likes to talk about intelligence, you didn't exactly think this one through, did you?

I don't remember the details exactly, since it's been so long since I played any MK game, but I do remember that in deception, Li-mei's bio explains that Bo'raicho somehow saved Li-mei from being trapped in the zombie soldier forever, and then I think he trained Li-mei, which could have actually been Shujinko in Bo'raicho's form. If that's how his power works. Not sure about the whole training part, but he saved Li-mei in some way.

I don't honestly think that ending was actually Canonical. In fact, more than half the endings probably weren't. From Deception to MK9, it kinda doesn't make alot of sense, or probably doesn't matter much in the end, since in armaggedon, all characters are brought back, and Shao Khan seems to have won the whole tournament, as we see in MK9's intro. We know some endings are canon only based on descriptions from armaggedon, which is very few, and certain events and characters seen in Armaggedon and Deceptions Konquest modes. For example, in Frost's ending for deception, she goes dilarious and ends up being frozen and sealed by Sub-Zero in a room at the Lin-Kue temple. This is confirmed by the fact that Taven finds her and frees her from being frozen in Armaggedon. Then there is Shujinko beating Onaga. Someone else could have done it, but then that would make all of Deceptions Konquest stupid. Then we have nightwolf, who used magic to bring Onaga to the Netherealm. Before Shujinko Actually kills Onaga, Nightwolf could have unintentionally saved Onaga by drawing his soul or spirit away from his body, or rather, reptile's body, killing the body, but not Onaga himself. And last we have Ashra, who in Deceptions Konquest, is last seen fighting Ermac, explaining her goal is to defeat demons to become less one herself, and eventually be banned from the netherealm. In her ending, she beats Noob-Saibot and smoke, with the one sword, and Saibot's evil is apparently enough to free her. In Deceptions Konquest, when you reach edenia, if you look around, you can find Ashra in Edenia, confirming her ending was probably real. Anyway, back to the original question, my answer to you is that as far as I know, you can go ahead and consider whichever endings you want for the most part to be true, as not much is explained between Armaggedon, and Deception as to which happened, aside from those few I mentioned, and a few more. To further support my answer as why Li-Mei didn't betray Earthrealm, in Armaggedon, she would have ended up with the alliances of the dark forces against light, and Onaga would have won, and we would not have a new MK game, or we would have a different story instead of Armaggedon. Oh i got a decent idea how about Mortal Kombat SLASH Killer Instinct. I find that will make a devious decent collab. Endless martial arts nightmarish gore supernatural violence with decent storylines plus i find Scorpion is the dark hero like Ghost Rider and Spawn. Since he been chosen to fight fir the elder Gods from the guidance and permissoon from Raiden. Both Sub Zero and Scorpion are in very good terms now and fight for earthrealm.
Thanks, same to you MegaMr Jin :) As much as I love the MK series, and how the story played out all the way to X, it's kinda a bummer that there were so many loopholes and somewhat unsatisfying cuts to the games content, like being fed slideshow endings instead of cutscenes. While that is acceptable since we got new characters, and the Konquest Modes, Losing Fatalities and a good story for most characters in Armaggedon was a HUGE dissappointment. I would gladly rather have half the characters in Armaggedon with their signature fatalities, and real endings, cutscenes, or slideshows, instead of the horrible game we got in that era. It wasn't all bad, but the violence and fatalities in MK is what made this game unique to other fighting games. Let's just hope the new MK's story mode is as solid as 9 and X!
