another home... nice to see u back
Ha ha, yes, but this is very different. Gave up our posh custom with my job change for something comfortable and manageable. Thank you Hoobs!
good luck.
Thanks!
Good to see you back at it. Best of luck with that square room! Treatments are definitely in order.
Thanks, it will make for a nice experimental room though - more I can share later on.
11' x 11' x 10' that's almost a perfect cube! That'll give you some nasty rooms modes, even with room treatment. You'll have to get used to the sound of your new room...
Yes, I am finding that out. Maybe I can use the closet behind my seating position as a trap of sorts, take the doors off. Certain bass bumps creep in, but things are smoothing out in other areas.
really like to hear your thoughts on the differences between the tow harbeths that you show in your inventory. 30.2 and HL C7ES-3. thanks so much!!
I can only make incomplete remarks of the 30.2 as I had the older M30. In general terms, the 30.2 is Harbeths more traditional studio monitor style speaker. Tighter tolerances, really meant to flesh out mid-band details and not squeeze out max bottom end. Quicker and tighter than the C7, but also much more placement and gear synergy dependent.
Honestly, the C7ES-3 XD is a loyal and lovely multi-faceted speaker. Its does not play to any extremes, but what it does do is fabulous across all kinds of strange amplifier pairings. The C7 is not so room picky, its not effected so much by proper stands like the 30.2 type Harbeths. You get a little more bass response, and a smother, sweeter top end. 30.2 have more laser focus, to me, they were less relaxed compared to the C7. Its a personality type, do you want the all arounder or do you want that amazing Harbeth mid-range with additional focus and a little bit of room fussiness? Set up right, you will be rewarded more with the 30.2, hearing a bit more from your recordings, but not dramatically more.
Hope this helps!
@@2ChannelListening Wow, appreciate the thoughtful response. Good luck with your new job at The Music Room
Ah, you are a neighbor now. I live in Tulsa coming from New Jersey 8 years ago. Seems like yesterday.
Really enjoying it so far, much better weather than Idaho! Cheers
Good luck. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you!
OK, Good to see you are alive and doing well. Can't wait to see the Peachtree gear and Harbeth speakers
You and me both! Dragging a cargo trailer with all my earthly possessions 1,900 miles, across mostly desert, wasn't the brightest of ideas. Not a good time to be draggin anything at only 9 mpg, lol.
@@2ChannelListening There are a pair of Zu Dirty Weekend Oman MK2 here local, hopefully i can pick them up Sunday.
@@WheeledandWellArmed nice, good luck!
Nice blank slate you have there, congrats!
Thanks!
Nice..you have some cool gear to play with.
Yeah thanks, sure do!
Just watched the review on the nad c 658, is it still going to be in the system?
I sold it off local audio friend before leaving Idaho. New place has no ethernet, so I am playing with iFi Zen One Signature and Fire Tablet streaming. Very impressed so far.
My first room was that size. Had a pair of near fields and a SVS PB13 Ultra Subwoofer. The room completely canceled out all of the bass in the room. And throughout the house stuff was falling off the walls 😅
Hmmn, I'm not sure Amanda would put up with that for very long...
Thanks Shorby.
@@2ChannelListening How do you know my wife’s name? But your right she didn’t. Moved to the formal dining room. Now heading to the basement. I collect Salk speakers so I’m mainly out of room at this point.
I need to move to different state with a ton of audio gear. Any moving tips? TIA
My biggest piece of advice for moving to another state - sell absolutely everything you can live without. We bought a cargo trailer, if it didn't fit, it didn't make the trip. Harsh but also liberating. Also, don't rush. Plan months in advance and start packing and getting rid of stuff as you go - makes the week of the move so much smoother and less stressful on the entire family. This is my 6th state to state move. Good luck.
@@2ChannelListening Thanks. I don’t think i can sell lot of my gear. Do you think moving services would be helpful
Moving services are helpful if you have a large house and do not want to do the heavy lifting. Be prepared to spend well over $10K for a 3 bed 2 bath 2 car garage home. Double it for 3,000 sq. ft. or more. That's why my wife and I sold most of our stuff - it wasn't worth buying it twice to move it. We sold the trailer we bought for the move and I can tell you, this was the cheapest move we've ever pulled off.
@@2ChannelListening Dang that’s expensive. I may have to DIY this move. Appreciate all the help!
The cube room eh? Spent some time with the BMRs. Also dined with Dennis Murphy. His speakers were in our Speakerfest 17 model exhibition last saturday. Your review made me want to include this product. Thanks! BTW it beat all comers by 3-1 ratio.
Thanks for the info!
@@2ChannelListening Oaky now what's next?
Sort this room out and catch up with the Dali Rubicon 2C review.
Congrats?? on your move to OK
Ha ha, I like the question mark...right. Time will tell with this move - Texas is too bloody expensive for what we would want.
Ah the state I grew up in. Yeah the price is right. As long as you're ok with the Sprawl and driving 15 miles to everything you'll be fine. However I think there we still say didn't instead of dinnint ;) Is that a Idaho thing? I watch another streamer who says that too.
Lol, cannot say I really heard a strong 'dinnit' from the locals. I prefer the sprawl, I'm not a city guy. In each state I've lived, I was 20-30 minutes from anything of importance. My wife would say different ha ha.
@@2ChannelListening haha at least you're close to OKC. I was way up in green country, NE OK.
@@DustinDonohue funny, I really wanted to go to Bartlesville, but the employment opportunities are slim to none for me.
@@2ChannelListening Employment opportunities part of the reason I left. Looks like you picked a good time of the year and soon it will cool off. I would warn you about the summers, but the winters are brutal too. The lakes are nice escapes. I wish I could tell you more about where you are in OK, but I didn't go there too much. Anyway, nice to interact with you and enjoy your new dedicated listening room.
