- One of Brain Drain's less-socially-acceptable hobbies is cloning*, and often he forces the souls of dead warriors to inhabit these clones.
Fukua is the result of a fortunate - or unfortunate - Lab Zero accident: a union of two souls. One, a once-proud warrior known for her brute strength in close combat; the other a silent assassin who specialized in ranged weapons for her kills.
Together as one, Fukua possesses the best of both specialties...but relationships formed under intense circumstances often don't last.
"Movies? When, Saturday? Nah, can't. Yeah, I'm busy. Cloning. YES, really! Sorry, maybe next week."
Now, we here at Lab Zero certainly believe in taking a joke to the FURTHEST extreme (and often well past that), so...why not play her yourself?

And thus, a joke character ended up being a very complex and strong character with a vastly different playstyle than Filia and even more absurd mix-ups thanks to Fukua's shadow clones
Vastly is a bit of an overstatement. Bit yes, it is different and Fukua is one of my top 5 favorite to play as

I'm 2 years late, but it's a reference to the ending of Super Mario World.
It's actually the ending to Super Mario Bros 2, the one where you hurt enemies by picking up and throwing vegetables.
Not gonna lie, she actually looks interesting to play despite the fact she's a joke character. Maybe I like her because I like new content or maybe it's just because she says, "We're gonna get you..." so ominously. Well, as ominous Filia's voice actress can sound, that is.
She's LOTS of fun! I've tried her out, and to me, she's more fun than Filia. However, her story mode is BY FAR the hardest in the game. I've only beaten it once.

And yet...... This is 10x better than the reveal of Decapre.
Coming back to this trailer, it's amusing that the thing it was parodying (Decapre in SFIV) is no longer around, but Fukua is still a relevant character.

I have to say I do like the concept behind Fukua having two souls in one body and having the ability to send out a soul for a super. I say you should keep the concept and flesh it out more. I like the thought of a character switching between souls by sending them out for her specials and having her move set change depending which soul was sent out. Like if the warrior's soul was sent out Fukua would start fighting like an assassin and vice versa. It would make for a very interesting and fun character.
This is less 'Shots Fired' as it is a Battleship wailing on a defenseless harbor with cannons. I approve!

Say hello to the hardest story route for this character cause the Fixed to Nightmare mode Filia is killer
I died about fifteen times until I figured out how to gimmick the AI.
the strat is to use her shadow stuff, down->diag-back->back LK/LM/LH to start off and combo the rest
DaBoy2187 I literally just maintain a mid-range distance until she jumps and airdashes above me, then hit her with Chompadour and follow up with Salon Treatment. 2-hit combo. That's all I did and I got a Perfect one of the times I beat her.

I tried the character! IS GREAT! It recycle sprites, of course, but the way to play is different! This is better than a clone with a mask that changes the commands to charge! AND IT IS FREE!

I know that this started out as a joke, but I think the idea of having altered versions of the characters might actually be a good idea!
Similar to how Blazblue has Unlimited Versions of each of their characters, the alternate versions could be used as Bosses in future Skullgirls games.
Heck, they already tried to do this in Squigly's Story by actually making Double the Final Boss, though double didn't really get any buffs or anything.

Aaahhh, this must be joking on the fact that Capcom used a similar way of presenting the last new character for a Street Fighting game. "Now you're playing with Power!" and the end screen are both references to Nintendo. Playing with Power line is from an advert for a Nintendo console, and the end screen is from Super Mario Bros. 2. Great video guys! =D
Actually, that's an actual end quote from the game. It's filled with little in-jokes like that as it is. Also, that character is real. She's IN the Steam version. They actually made this joke a real thing, and she's a beast to play as.
This made me have a whole new layer of respect for Lab Zero.

Ah, I remember seeing this trailer when it came out. Gave me such a nice chuckle.
I know she's a joke character and all, but to be honest, I really wouldn't mind if she is canon. When I saw her on the trailer, like many other fans apparently said before she even became a real thing, I wouldn't mind wanting to try her out. When they made he into a real character, they made a few changes to her compared to how she was shown in this trailer that made me like her even more, such as her fireball attacks and that aura she has.
Either way, after going through her movelist, I really wouldn't mind that she was canon (once again). Despite being an exact clone in design and story, she has her own flair that greatly differentiates her from Filia. To me, she's looks like a cool, sassy, and kind of stuck-up gal, and I think they pulled it off well if that is what they were always intending here.
Lab Zero has to be one of the only fighting game developers so far where I have no problems when they want to make clone characters, since I think that they can pull off the differences so well in the deeper aspects of the designs such as the personality. They did it well with Fukua here, and I'm quite sure they can do it well with Robo Fortune. They could make Robo Fortune different and likable like Robo-Ky (another clone I love) is compared to normal Ky from GG when it comes to personality if they wanted to. .
Fukua is accepted because she wasn't pushed to the moon and hyped up. Decapre is not accepted because they promised a totally new character and we got yet more recycled content. Also, nobody gives a shit about the damned dolls. Give us someone cool and new or Skullomania!
I like it because it isn't Capcom, the pure an hard double standard makes it funny, also, it's free.

She does look a bit uncanny. The particle around her represents the two souls unstability, and she sometimes changes color when making a clone attack.

really the game is like ever parody put together in one game, so they say "If you can't beat them, make fun of them"
If she was a joke character like mostly a lot of people believe then how come she's one fun to play as two her combos and mix-ups are really fun to use to overwhelm opponents and she can do things Filia can't do third and final both Filia and Fukua are really dangerous as a team

Well, you might get half of that wish. I heard they are actually considering keeping her, depending on whether or not people like her enough to warrant her stay.
Fukua is currently playable in the PC version. Whether she stays or not I don't know unfortunately, I do hope she stays though, a new character is always welcome.

man you guys really outdid yourselves this time XD honestly i do gotta admit she's not that bad i like her, she's what i would call a filler character to fill the time everyone has to wait while you guys finish up Big Band's attacks and complete Eliza, people can use Fukua to perfect their skills with her and hopefully enjoy her while you guys work. I do have to admit that i do wanna see a LOT more characters in the future, i understand that it takes so much money due to the whole Squigly release and production, but you guys are so good at background characters that it seems like all of them could become DLC characters and the references you could put into them is ENDLESS since i have seen many not just in the BG of stages but into the moves of the fighters and their pallets, i mean you'll get to it all eventually since you have some major DLC's like ones in the main stories before the first added character. All in all i say keep up the good work you're really something Lab Zero and i'll stay a fan until the end
