I am a guy and have a fascination for vintage sewing machines, now this here will cox and gibbs takes the top price in looks, design and operation, I simply love miniatures and this here machine is my fav, so small, and made with such high quality that it works like a fine clock! I recently acquired one and missing the spool holder on mine, will be a bit before I get one. Now that I got it, I want to sew! Just like owning a classic car, you can't watch it all the time, got to drive it!
The Masquerade yes, it is so quite, that I just couldn't believe it, that has to be so much fun, and what a conversation piece! I'll be looking forward to the Antique Playground. We have a place here in Texas, which they call largest flea market in the states, Canton Texas. My late husband and I only dealt in vintage and antiques and in all those years of setting up in Canton and other places, we never ever saw one of these, I adore it❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for demonstrating your wonderful machine, it's amazing. They certainly built things to last back then. Cute bunny too and I love your knitting needle fabric turning trick.
you’re the coolest for making the pattern available to us! i’m almost finished with my bunny, i actually used one soft fleece contrast for the ears and for the body i used 2 contrasting floral patterns! wish i could send a pic thru the comments but just know you’re the best! i love my bunny :)
I've done one with fleece as well! It makes it so cuddly!! Other people have shared their pics with me on fb. You can check out my page at facebook.com/themasqueradenh Hope to see you there!😁
Wow, this is a terrific combination video. I of course watched the old sewing machine. My wife watched making the bunny. And as I stuck with the video, I noticed it was also a good sewing lesson. Planning, cutting out and coordinating the bunny parts. Leaving it inside out til the right time. And putting the parts together. Well done madam! I have a friend who went to school for antique machine repair. I will send this to her. I bet she will enjoy it.
I do feel blessed! LOL So much so that I want to share my ancient beauties. I'll be on the road with a traveling "Antique Playground" this fall - so others can join in the fun! ;)
Loe that I found you tonight. and what a treat watching you use that beautiful machine. You seem to be having fun creating with it. thanks for sharing her.
You're welcome! Yes, I have so much fun using all my antique machines! And I have to say, they like it, too. LOL They would much rather be busy sewing than sitting on a shelf collecting dust!
Oh he is just soo very sweet and I adore your sewing machine one day I will find an antique machine. Your work is brilliant I am so pleased that I found you today you’ve brightened up what is a dull rainy day here in the uk. Trouble is I have so many things I want to make and they are all being put to one side whilst I raid my stash to make the bunny.
LOL! That's the sign of a true "creator"! You have to go with the moment and what ever strikes your fancy - so you can "get into" your project with gusto! Have fun!
Love this video. . In the past week Ive made four bunnies. Two using two sweaters that were too small for me. However I did have to line them so they took a bit longer. Love your sewing machine. I wish my mum had kept her old Singers Treddle Sewing Machine. I would have loved to have used that. Stay safe. Thank you.

Hi Alexandra - thanks for your kind words! Wish I knew where to buy this panel! I found it in a stash of fabric I inherited when my mother-in-law passed away. For all I know it could be 30 or 40 years old. I thought there would be interest in it, so I made a PDF pattern from it so I could share it for free. If you go to the blog on my website you can find it there. Go to TheMasquerade.net/2016/12/24/floppy-bunny then you can use your own fabric and make it unique!
Your welcome! This is a Wilcox & Gibbs machine from 1894. It has the European version of the hand crank attached to it. It can also be used on a treadle base! ;)
Love your story! I found the panel with this bunny's parts among all kinds of craft stuff I inherited from my late mother-in-law. I have no idea how long she had it, but felt the need to make it on her birthday during the first year she was gone. Around what year did you get your bunny? I'd love to know!
@@TheMasquerade That is such a sweet way to celebrate her! I believe I was around 3. Another crazy coincidence, a family member just tagged me in a photo where I am wearing the dress. Just this morning. That bunny is speaking to us 🤣 It would have been around 1993.
