Currently have torn meniscus and was looking for a stability shoe due to my pronation on the injured leg. Wanted something to help in walking while waiting for this to heal and something to help me get back to running after it. Tried every damn stability shoe you can name and they all were actually painful on my foot to me. I tried this on and bought it immediately. It is moderate stability but does what it does very well. The foam in this model is fantastic imo. Not even a New Balance fan tbh but am thrilled with it. My regular go to shoe is the Sacucony Speed 3 but can tell I will enjoy running in this when all is said and done. Size 12.5 in current Saucony's but took a 12 in these and in a wide. Just writing this for anyone who is in the same situation I currently am with a meniscus tear, I would advise trying this on first.
Just bought a pair of these. Lovely! People like me just want a shoe that's comfortable and versatile whether going for a casual run/walk, gym session or to the local cafe. That it looks undercover and doesn't scream 'marathon trainer alert' is a selling point--not a detraction.
Which is the best stability running shoe between NB 860v13 vs Glide 16 vs Gel Kayano 30? I'm looking for the best stability shoe as I'm an over pronator. I'm not too concerned about speed etc.. more of a durable, workhose show that supports my overpronation over 15-20km daily runs.
Chris, thanks for this review. I had the v11 which has 330 miles and I still like and the v12, which I only put 100 miles on as it was not as comfortable, the overlay started to peel and didn’t fit as well as the 11 (I no longer run in the v12s). I think I’ll avoid the v13 and stick to my Vongo V5s, or Guide 15 until I get the Tempus.
Thanks for the review! I can't find Tempus in Turkiye - and I also need the wide version of it which is harder to find. This NB 860V13 is available here but extremely overpriced. My go-to choice is Asics Kayano Lite 3 / Kayano 29 and GT 2000 10 GTX for rainy days.
@@FordyRuns I have the ride 15. That Guide is just the Ride with some medial post. The Ride 15 is also very stable and works ok for smaller distances, up to 10k.
@@FordyRuns I am in doubt between the Ride 15 (since they've a GTX version) or the GT2000 11 GTX. Especially since I'm no Nike or Hoka fan and need a shoe that both can be used during trail runs and on the road.
Great review. However, the Tempus has a higher arch in it which keeps a lot of us from wearing it. Tempus doesn’t as much stability as the 860, IMO. Hope the Tempus V2 has lower arch.
in the US you can get this for $80 with NB 20% off e-mail subscription code. Comparing it to Tempus at $179, this shoe is a no-brainer. Also, Tempus hurts flat footers like hell. For us who need stability with flat feet, the arch is way more forgiving on this 860 vs the tempus.
You need to try the Asics Kayano Lite 3 , it is quite a lot more nimble and versatile shoe for runners that want some stability then the Gel-Kayano 29 or the GT-2000 V10 . Maybe the Kayano Lite 3 is a better shoe them this Tempus but it is probably more expensive. I got both Kayano shoes from 2022 and the Lite 3 is a better shoe overall besides the fact that the forefoot area is less soft then the FF Blast Plus (Kayano 29) so it has a better pop flow from the rocker design. And the upper and laces are also better on the Lite 3 then the super long and elastic laces from the Kayano 29.
Hi, Chris, honestly I'm not interested anymore in these old type garbage shoes. We are now at the second stage of the beginning of the new era of running shoes. Super foams are game changer in my opinion. Same as were smartphones vs dumb phones. The manufacturers will soon have to put their super foams (zoom x, light strike PRO, FF turbo etc.) In all their shoes. It will be do or die process. Who is not ready to adjust to these trends will be out of business. So let's help them to speed up this trend and let's stop buying the old EVA garbage. because in that case super foams will become cheaper and more affordable once they put these in all shoes. The difference between EVA and the new super foams is massive, we all know that. Let's stop buying dumb phones.

NB has another stability shoe: Fresh Foam X Vongo. That might be better option in NB lineup for stability shoe users.
My man! Keeping it stable 💪🏿
Few more coming your way

Like for Chris. Thanks for this information about the NB 860v13. A nice weekend for everyone. 🌤️🏃🌞
Same to you

Good shout heard this from a few…. We’ve got two more stability shoes in test then I’ll report back

Why does it fit so tight though?
Does the tempest have wide toe box like new balance?
I’m a mild stability shoe wearer, just picked up the guide 15 for £65

Appreciate the review. I need a max stability shoe (more support for a damaged knee). What are your max stability recommendations. Love your channel.
Guide 15
Is this good for underpronation?
How can you compare with brooks Adriana GTS22
Is Guide 15 or this 860v13 better? thanks

Interesting thanks a lot!
That's a hot take but you are right
What a ridiculously trashy take.
Let people enjoy what they enjoy.
