Ah, Baal Parvez, my favourite Gothic 1 XP farming tool :P (7:37 Big agree) During escorts, the NPCs kills also give you XP (as you saw), which can be abused by pulling extra mobs for some nice, easy early game XP. You learn by watching an expert fight for you, at least that is my headcanon explanation ;D Though it can sometimes happen that the NPC moves on, if you run off too far. In Gothic 2, there is one NPC that offers several escorts to different places, which gave you the opportunity to clear a ton on the way, really useful since that game is really hard if you have the expansion installed. In general, I just love this entire idea of reverse escort quests. In other games you get annoyed at slow-moving, incompetent NPCs, while here you are the weak person being escorted. Really adds to the feeling of powerlessness early on, which makes the progression even more satisfying. I've personally never joined the new camp, so I'd be actually kinda excited to see that path - since you've been a bit enamored by their -weed- ehm I mean, their piety ;) I would only suggest to do as much stuff for the different camps before fully commiting, since you may be locked out of some quests and thus some XP, once you joined one (I mean specifically the quests for joining the others, you can progress them without commiting). But it seems you're already doing so anyways^^ 36:40 You were right to be scared of that path, I would have loved for you to go a bit deeper and meet some of the nice forest animals :D Damn your correct sense of direction! I wonder if the devs purposefully made the road misleading, so that you had to remember to follow the river and not blindly trust the path.
i also love this concept you've described as "reverse escort"! i am so used to leading other characters around, it was such a nice change of pace, especially since at this point YES i was so weak and barely aware of my surroundings. what a fun little twist! i'm very invested in joining the swamp people, not just for the weed of course!! but i love the goofy cult vibes and magic and treehouses. it's so cool!! aiya yeah i am always making sure NOT to get lost in those roads, as i am so used to dying now whenever i stray too far from a specific path!! lolol
Hey there, nice episode. I once again come bearing some advice/informations : -Merchants do restock ore, and get even better items/gear/weapons/armors, but that only happens when you reach a new Chapter of the game (there are 6 chapters in total) -Fortuno is right under Cor Kalom's hut, he holds a stand where he distributes weed, just ask for direction to Cor Kalom's. - !!!!!! I can't stress this enough : You need to invest your LPs (learning points), you get 10 per level, and each one can be invested in exchange for 1 strength or 1 dexterity. Some skills require more than 1 point however. You can check those by pressing "B". You desperatly need this to stand a chance in fights. Strength allows you to wield stronger melee weapons and also deal more damage with those, same for dexterity, but it affects ranged weapons. I strongly advise investing in 1 handed training with Scatty by the Arena, for faster attacks, and invest the rest in Strength.
yay thank you so much! my episodes are a bit off-schedule, but tomorrow i'll be implementing lots of tips! i deeply appreciate your help throughout this. i was able to find fortuno and invest a few points (i did end up saving some because i want acrobatics and i hear i can get some acrobatics skills in new camp? i think that's where i'll be checking out next) thank you thank you for the tip with scatty!! i'll hit him up first before i head over to the new camp!
you can pick the lock at Cor Kaloms chest and take everything without him paying any attention. There are skills to learn, for harvesting creatures parts, like hides and talons. Dont take loincloth from gate guard...
waaa i was hoping i could just study under cor kalom or something and learn his recipes TT but he was super short with me when i talked to him. no loincloth heard hehe
1:55 Merchants do not restock (with very few exceptions) but at the start of new acts they get new items to sell and get more ore Where is Fortuno ? you asked this guy about it :P 15:10 and you also seen that u can ask around for a way to Cor Kalom 45:30 Strength have 2 purposes 1st - it increases your melee damage 2nd - it is needed to equip better melee weapons one general tip from me exhaust the conversations from all named NPC's if u are feeling unsure if talking about something is a good idea , just save game they can tell/teach you a lot of things that u are wondering about
thank you as always! i completely glossed over that part of the conversation at first haha. but i was able to find him for the next episode! (randomly of course lol) heard on the ore-- i think i'll start trading more often with them before a new chapter starts so that i can maximize my ore reserves. thank you thank you~
Merchants inventory gets updated at the same ticks as wildlife respawns I think. So they get more ore and better weapons every chapter or so. But with barter trade and lack of weight it doesn't matter too much. Only armor cost ore and it's possible to pass whole game with free amor alone. Better one aviable from traders is story locked anyway. Talk more to Lester. He's your guide on the swamp in literal sense. Can give you tour around the camp and show important places. But to be fair, you found most of them, besides Fortunos hut, but that's your fault, as it's location was mentioned in dialog. He should also give some tips about how to impress the gurus.
haha yeah the location just completely slipped my mind! i stumbled upon fortuno in my most recent playthrough phew. thanks for the tips as always! i'll spend more time with lester, i was told by an NPC that i should wait until the guru leaves his side for extra info hehe. i'm so excited! also hell yeah on the free armor being enough to get through the game! that way i can just pick the outfit i like the best once i have the ore saved up~~
The Great sleeper dude, he like shows us the path man 😹
cowabunga 🏄♂️
When you join a cult wanting it to be serious but they all just sit around smoking weed
hey you know, either way works for me! but i do hope i can get some magic out of these stoners ehe

Where is Fortuno ?
you asked this guy about it :P 15:10
and you also seen that u can ask around for a way to Cor Kalom
45:30
Strength have 2 purposes
1st - it increases your melee damage
2nd - it is needed to equip better melee weapons
one general tip from me
exhaust the conversations from all named NPC's
if u are feeling unsure if talking about something is a good idea , just save game
