Thanks for filming my city, grew up all over E Town! I have so many stories to tell! Lost so many childhood friends and two cousins to gun violence! So many memories living there! Elizabeth will always have a place in my heart!
For an old industrial town, Elizabeth overall and its poorest hoods don’t look all that bad. In fact they are clean and well kept which is in stark contrast to both Newark NJ and Bridgeport CT.
I know Elizabeth don’t have a bunch of houses like that the city turned most of the abandoned house into town houses and a lot of the Hispanic and Jewish communities bought house In Elizabeth so even in the poor areas like downtown the port the houses and areas look good.
@@stanley71399 blacks don’t buy property in their communities unlike Elizabeth the Hispanics have really bought most of the property their economy is booming but blacks still go and vote and wait on the politics to create jobs and economic opportunities all those abandoned houses in Newark is low a gold mine if blacks get together and start buying property.

Great video as usual! New Jersey is no joke in some areas! I haven't yet been to Elizabeth so these videos are super helpful when determining where (and where not ) to go!
So, only places in North Jersey that you should avoid at all costs is Irvington/Newark Border area, 4th ward in Paterson, NJ and some parts of east orange. danger level these areas is 10/10. For south jersey, Camden, Trenton, asbury park and Atlantic City are bad too
@@anthonyferrari5837 Thanks for the advice! I went to Atlantic City but it was years ago. I’ve also briefly been in Newark. How is Edgewater, NJ these days? I haven’t been up that way in a few years either.
Born there. Know all of these areas. I spent every weekend in Elizabeth for decades. World traveler now but from Eastwick originally. CharlieBo313, I'm glad that finally you drove to Elizabeth.. Next time you film, go to Elizabeth's Downtown section 1st, 2nd & 3rd streets, and surrounding areas, like magnolia, Fulton, Marshall, South 5th Street, Livingston, East Jersey Street, Catherine etc. Etc. That's the Hood part of Elizabeth also.. this video is Bayway projects.. and Jackson Ave. Anna Street, etc. Much Love be Safe!
Born and raised here in jersey. Sad thing is when people think of new jersey they think the shore and this stuff. 70 percent of the state is farmland. Garden state for a reason. Real shame we get such a bad wrap here

@Kyle Everage It may not be as bad as Newark but shit still happens out there. Shootings, murders, gangs, drugs, violence and etc. Elizabeth is still a hood. I remember the mayor said a few years ago that there isn't any gangs in Elizabeth. Bullshit it isn't, Elizabeth got bloods and crips out there, last time I checked.
