My MSI 3080 hits 60fps with rare drops to around 50fps on FS 2020 with everything maxxed at 4k why is yours hitting around 40fps ? i have the same cpu and the MSI version of the 3080 your 3080 seems to be under performing by around 20fps on each test. would be nice if you listed the version of the 3080 used. Mine is the MSI Gaming X Trio 3080.

that is because Nvidia stripped a component from the non-TI that is used for cryptomining. The RTX-30XX TI are slower for crypto mining, hence their lower price now.

@@alonsom8977 There is stock problem what would you expect although it's still worth it for me as it's somehow significantly cheaper than rtx 3070 & rtx 3060ti in my country so at this point in time I won't find anything better unless I want to wait half a year or something for price drop and buy rtx 3080. Also one more thing to notice given this card is actually better than 2080ti and 2080ti was about $500 more expensive than this card last year makes it still worth it generation based despite the fact we could buy rtx 3080 for the price of rtx 3070ti 8 months ago before the stock started messing up

You'd think at 4k there would be a larger gap between the 3070 and 3070ti. But it's actually a smaller difference compared to 1440p and 1080p. Not sure what Nvidia was thinking with this one...

Don't get me wrong the GTX 1080ti still is a great Card. Heck even the GTX 1060 6GB (And OC even better) still is pretty good for 1080p Gaming. But RTX 3070 is 30-40+ FPS faster than GTX 1080Ti. But finding either of them at MSRP well that's another story...

@@iezure849In my Case I bought a Prebuilt with the RTX 3070 included. I tried a few games at 4K, works great. But where the RTX Cards Shines over the GTX cards is with the Ray Tracing and DLSSS. But I haven't had the time to play with Ray Tracing or DLSS yet (Maybe with Control game being Free on EPIC I might give it a try). I haven't used the RTX 3070 much, since i'm still using the Older PC with GTX 1060 6GB that I OC on MSI afterburner for some Extra Juice hehehe.

I think the interesting thing about this particular card is availability. I got this one from a retailer for cheaper than the used price of a 3070 non TI. The peformance over a non TI is negligible but the price and availability is just much better. You should think of this card as a re-release of the RTX 3070. And compared to all the other cards and their market prices out there, this gpu is probably the best deal you can get right now. Now if we are strictly talking msrp vs msrp, this card sucks but that's just not the reality. Msrp is a non factor at the moment. The only thing that matters is market price.

A few months ago I bought a 3070ti, a colleague was a bit annoyed since he bought a non TI for the same price from the same retailer just a day before me...
In Sweden at least, all prices are much more balanced towards the performance of the cards. The official us mspr is out the window here for all retailers.

The Asus card runs the hottest of all the variants. Sorry, but such small gains for more money, power, and heat is just not a better value.

If I remember correctly, 3070 not meant for 4K gaming. It can, but not really optimized, but for 2K resolution it's pretty good
3070 can do 4K 60hz high or default medium settings no problem. It is ultra graphics that has issues.
Just don’t go overboard and put it at ultra and/or with Ray Tracing 😅. You’re asking for trouble.
The 3070 and 3070ti are being limited by the 8GB of VRAM in a few games, such as Cyberpunk and Flight Simulator. They should have had 10 or 12GB of vram at this tier of performance

The 3070 is too Weak for 4K gaming. Not enough memory and you have to lower many settings to get a smooth experience. 3080 is a beast for 4K. I had the 3070 for a year and felt huge buyer’s remorse. Now I finally have a 3080 and it’s so much better for 4K gaming.

Something I haven't seen anyone comment on yet, is about the temperatures of the 3070ti compared to the standard 3070, that by having GDDR6X memory the Ti instead of normal GDDR6 as in the 3070, the temperatures can be beastly in case the mistake that was made at the time with the 3080 and 3090 has been made again.
I was just about to highlight the high temperatures on the 3070ti, which is a big let down in addition to only 3-5 extra FPS over the 3070
I noticed that too but if you look at the gpu links in the description, the 3070 and 3080 are MSI Ventus models while the 3070 Ti is a Gigabyte Eagle model, so it could just be that the Ventus models do a better job of cooling.

I ordered a PC with a rtx 3070 and apperently it was too hard to get the specific one that i ordered so i got a rtx 3070 ti instead without extra costs.

Looking at Forza Horizon 4's Average FPS scores, I was expecting more from the 3070 Ti since it used GDDR6X RAM. I also noticed that the 3070 Ti produce more heat than both 3070 and 3080. Looks like 3070 is still a worthy purchase.
I have a 3070 and I play at 1440p and 4k. For 1440p, this thing handles any game u throw at it. At 4k it is still a very smooth experience as long as you optimize your game settings and not play at ultra all the time
3070 ti is pointless, more power drawing, more heat, costs alot more (at least in my country) and it's like 5-10% up to regular 3070. I'd rather throw some money to get 3080 at least, or wait for Ada GPUs. Or even 6900xt might be worth it for pure FPS, if you're not a fan of RTX. Well I got 3070 for 1080/240 gaming and that's MORE than enough, card is fantastic.

@@NemzFPS that would be overkill, which isnt bad but the card is usually meant for 1440p. If you have money then sure get the rtx 3070, but i recommend the rtx 3060 ti more for 1080p. its cheaper most of the times, and still gives really good result while still being useable in 1440 if you ever want to upgrade your monitor.

I have a 3070 ti, as it was the same price as the 3070. From experience, you can undervolt it, do some memory overclocking and get the same performance, with 190w usage, never above 70°C (which can be better with a good tower) and memory 80°C at max. Maybe you can do the same to the others, I guess.

@@senorbonbon well, I didn't overclock mine, and the performance boost is minimal doing so (up to where I know). I just do that for better temps and power consumption. 3080 is considerably superior than 3070, but I guess it depends on your personal preferences.
Please, could you make an update for this video?, I have seen that the performance of the RTX 3080 has increased due to the new drivers and I wanted to see if it did the same with the RTX 3070 TI.
This is with everything on the highest. If you simply turned on DLSS and put some of the settings to Medium, you would run 2 to possibly 3 times the fps on some games.

Part of me wishes I didn’t buy it and just waited but another part of me is just happy I got it at a good price $1241 aud. That card today is worth $2100 on eBay which is just extortion. This is actually a really good catch, when he had the 3070ti installed he may have forgotten a program that opened. 3gb is ALOT of extra ram to be used during the same game. Makes you wonder.
So i am thinking of building a new pc around the rtx 3080 for 4k 60fps gaming. If i only want it for gaming and not editing can i make any cuts on the rest of the system from what is used in this video without losing max fps? As it stands in my country this system costs about 2k euro if i were to buy those exact parts. 1k is just the card. Any insights would be appreciated.

I think the 3070 could keep the 30fps in CyberPunk 2077 if NVIDIA had put 10GB on it. It's using 100% of VRAM.
And also the 3070Ti would have more FPS in Microsoft Flight Simulator if it had 10GB VRAM, since it is using 100% of it too and 3080 is using over 9GB.
I wonder how much difference GDDR6 has compared to GDDR6X because it seems to be the biggest difference between 3070Ti and 3070, their CUDA Cores are almost the same 6144 vs 5888 and clock too 1.77 vs 1.73.
So it's pretty clear, that if you want to game in 4k with high/ultra settings, a 3080 is what to buy. 1440k go with the 3070, whichever version you can find closest to MSRP

when was younger used to think like everyone else that overclocking damages the computer lol, now rtx 3070ti does it by default, boosting 50 watts more to gain 3fps, which goes to show that the card has been boosted to make it seem fast enough and better choice over the 3070, but at the cost of less efficiency, at this point might as well get the 3080

Full ultra settings on RDR2 running at 53 fps is still amazing and more than I could wish for. My 1050 ti runs RDR2 with most settings on low and medium so ultra at 53 fps is insane to me
And that was at 4k as well

i guess you've newer cpu than me. I use i5-4670 and 2x4gb ddr3 and i barely get 30+-fps on 1080p low settings with fsr 2 at max
Definitely not worth the extra money...still, I managed to sell my 3060ti EVGA (without LHR), buy a brand new 3070ti Gainward (with LHR, of course) and still profit USD 80,00. So, it all depends on perspective.
There must be a performance gap between cards around 20-30 percent. 3070 and 3070 ti are almost identical.
ti’s are known to provide about 5-10% uplift... but 3000’s series ti are a weaker upgrade than older generations

@@dinamo7485 my monitors are 1440p and 4k, can still play wow and dota at 4k 60 with high-ultra, but in games like warzone, i get a 60ish at 1440p ultra, gsync's the only thing saving me from wanting a new graphics card :) well that and the prices.

@@dinamo7485 thats not true at all. I switched to 3070 but even my 1070 was able to properly run 4k games at stable 30 fps with medium-high settings.
The only major improvement which made me switch was Dlss which makes the rtx series more future proof

Still a 3070 ti for $699 compared $1000 for the 3080 is a deal.
The 3080 will do better with 4k. I have a 3070 also and it is a noticeable difference. My 3070 is an Rog stix oc. I think thats about the best 3070 you can get.
I have the same GPU, it is the best 3070 on the market IMO.

The 3070 and 3070 ti are the same price in my country, but it's still scalper price.
Although MSRP the rtx 3070 is £469 and the 3070 ti £529, so a decent price difference.
The 3070 Ti is fantastic card - future proof RAM amount for raytracing !

Tbh none of these have enough vram i was planning on buying a 3080 ti hoping it would have 16 gb of vram to justify the $500 price increase but 12 is ridiculous i ended up going with the 6800 xt instead

is it really serious that nVidia releases a new card that only yields 5 PFS more in most games? Then comes to mind who are the wealthy, the famous, the miners who are eventually able to make "some" deals with the *dealers* so they can get the plates while the common workers or gamers can't, and if so, with giant unfair prices
Should make comparison in 1440p since they're the best for that resolution
