Surface laptop has a very big problem in design. It cannot be opened to be serviced, so after 3 years when the battery doesn't hold charge anymore it will not be possible to just change the battery. Also if anything breaks you will not be able to fix it, macbook air is modular, so most components can be serviced. I had to buy the Surface Laptop 1 as the second gen is still not available in my country, well in 3 weeks it will be but I needed one right now :P And to be honest 8gb ram and a dual core is not enough for me, other wise it the one to have among all the ultraportable "work" machines. But the lack of thunderbolt 3 is a little bit strange.
by the money u are giving for surface laptoo u should have gone for the macbook pro, since u are buying un outdated computer.
@@skeldpt4506 What can you do when the design of the Ms Surface Laptop is simply best for work like I am doing. Office with lots of web browser tabs. The only issue is the low amount of ram. There is like only one other machine that is on similar level as far as I am aware and it had worse keyboard which is of utmost importance.
@@Pillokun the keyboard of surface laptop is probably one of the best in the market, if not the best
@@skeldpt4506 mm indeed. It really is the perfect machine for typing, no competition here at all.
@@Pillokun well the mb are pretty good in that department... And so are the lenovo thinkpad, even tho lenovo's are not that good looking (in my opinion)
Hey! When are dropping SP6 review?
I dont have one to review unfortunately
☹️☹️
Love you Matthew you are best reviewer on the earth.... God bless you
Thanks Jabran!
what's the deal with the thunderbolt 3? i know it's for future proofing but still I'm not accustomed for using it since there's a limited of devices using it.
Looks awesome
Very nice video bro
Why is it so satisfying when he closes the laptop😄
We didn't really get into how it's any better than a MacBook Air in this video. There should have been a comparison, on account of the title.
Surface laptop has a very big problem in design. It cannot be opened to be serviced, so after 3 years when the battery doesn't hold charge anymore it will not be possible to just change the battery.
Also if anything breaks you will not be able to fix it, macbook air is modular, so most components can be serviced.
The alcantara on the surface laptop can be stained, a laptop is a high wear device so over the years it will show wear, which will make it not look very sleek and clean after a couple years.
It does have higher specs but up to you if you still want the surface.
Adam Delicioso. You can't open any MacBook either. And Apple usually just change the MB and charge you a fortune.
Is this Commander Waterford from The Handmaids Tale.? Oh yeah, the Surface 2 looks great but the finish looks it's easy to scratch.
How is the Surface Laptop 2 keyboard compared to the Huawei Matebook X Pro?
They're fairly similar but I'd give the slight edge to the Surface Laptop!
Thank you! And what about the quality of the trackpad? I realize the Matebook has a larger trackpad but not sure how much that matters.
great that they added black, awesome video
Thanks Michael!!
The fingerprints on the black aren't that visible than other colors?
microsoft surface pro 5th gen still my best tablet+laptop. Still using it, still amazed with it. but, surface 6 is a deal breaker cause they haven't change the design.
i thought that 65 degree celsius, which is 149 degree fahrenheit is extremely hot
No it's not these cpus can handle heat up to 100 Celsius. But usually I like them to stay around 80 or lower when under full load
Can you get chrome on this now? That's the only reason I didn't get the other one.
How do you compare this to the Lenovo X1 Carbon? The X1 has a bigger screen, is lighter, and has way more ports...
will you be reviewing the macbook air?
Does it sound better than MacBook Air 2018 when it comes to bass?
Mac book air still has better speakers
Leon A. S. Po
Mac better speaker and trackpad but same price
But ...
MacBook have a i5 underperformance dual core ....
It’s not acceptable after 2016 ...
Also it has more I/O ports then the Mac air but it lacks the thunderbolt...
And the GPU in the surface is better
Finally if you care about the Mac OS just remove windows and put it or run it as a VM ...
But in Mac air you won’t be able to do though since 2 cores is not enough to run a VM
Now you decide which device you want if you really not that good when it’s comes to PC and really have to buy Mac OS laptop and the cheapest go with the Air ...
Other then that go with this ...
Finally:
Both are overpriced and there’re many other options with dell XPS or Lenovo or razer blade 2018
Ko- Jap Sure, MacBook Air is less powerful, but Mac OS is more optimized. In addition, the difference is not much. Look at the Geekbench scores.
@@twistedoracle1144 people dont get it that most of the people who buy mba dont need the extra strenght of 4 core, and because the macos is better optimized it makes the processor runs smooth... mba is actually a good product the only problem is that is a bit overpriced but the stores are always making the macbooks 15% off to compete with 10% off the apple store for students.
Any performance issues in 128 GB SSD version compared to 256 GB SSD version considering that you only get 72 GB free in 128 GB SSD version post purchase?
MS Surface Laptop 2 or Thinkpad X1 Carbon? Which one should I buy in March 2019?
its better to wait for next generation of ms surface laptop this year
Im from italy and i dont know which laptop to buy:surface laptop 2 that will come out in january(in italy) or a surface book 2 for the black friday sales?
Please help me
Book 2 has a dedicated GPU. If you want to game or more video editing power, go Book 2
Surface laptop is the best in the market, the only one that convinced me to switch back to Windows.
Does it support AutoCAD, and Revit
What? 2019? This is 2020, dude! Stop living in the past.
Is it good for programming
So... why again is this better than the MBA? Not putting shade on the Surface, but not once in the video did you compare this against the Air. The Surface doesn’t even have thunderbolt 3, which the Air has. So again, Matt, why?
Plz tell me one thing that exclusively requires a usb type c
I would buy this but the lack of thunderbolt is kind of deal breaker for me
What do you use TB3 for?
@@MatthewMoniz to hook up an e GPU to play some games. And thanks for replying
why you don't compared with dell ,razer or hp ect .. i thing that will be more helpfull if i going to replace my windows computer not going to buy ios computer don't you thing so ...
Is there any stereo feeling through the keyboard sound?
Yup!
Hmm interesting. Wouldnt have thought that ;)
Thanks for your reply @@MatthewMoniz
We all are in 2018
Mathew is in 2019
*title of the video: surface 2 is better than macbook air
Does not mention the Macbook Air once in the video.
A surface laptop or surface pro with a mx150 and usbc is my dream laptop.
That would be perfect. IF that's the case then you'd probably like the Huawei MateBook X Pro
Would the I5 256 gb ssd version be good for music production?
10+ hours of battery life? What the heck it lasts 3 hours MAXIMUM for me! HELP!!!
call microsoft if your still in warranty (1 year) i have had mine for about a year and it gets me about 8, 9 hours. how long have you had yours
@@josephantoine3176 too late now lol
@@xb_ionic621 2 year late response lmao
About the thunderbolt, if you wanna hook a eGPU you can just get a decent gaming laptop with thunderbolt at this price. So I think most people wouldn't really need a thunderbolt or USB C. But seriously, a mini display port??? It's 2018. Who uses mini display port?? Even an HDMI port is way better.
love you man
u are the best 😍😍
Thanks man! Love you too!
Can I use the surface pro 3 pen for this laptop?
Anyone use this for lightroom and editing RAW?
