My wife and I and a couple of family members will be on this ship on July 2024. What type of room do you recommend for first time cruisers ? I’m considering the basic balcony room. Your thoughts?
Sorry it took me so long to respond… been working a ton lately. I think a balcony is a great room for first time cruisers. Interior room can be a little claustrophobic at times and with not access a window or anything… it’s sometimes hard to tell what time of day it is if in the room. That being said the only time I really spend in the room is when sleeping or changing, all other times are out doing everything. For me the balcony let’s you take it all in, see the water which is crazy satisfying. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s humid in the ocean.. so when the balcony door is open it can get stuff pretty quick in the room… this is also because of the balcony is open the AC shuts off in the room. For us it’s not that big of deal m, in still book a balcony every trip… it is my favorite.
No, it did not… this particular room was only for designed for 2 people. I think that there are some cabins where the couch does pull out to a bed though… just not this one.
Unfortunately no… what we did was take potable chargers… and used those from the bed at night. Then during the day when we were out and about, we chargers the portables
Hi there, I am going on a cruise next week. We are getting an offer for an upgrade Club balcony and a Spa Club Balcony. Do you know the difference? No one seems to know how to help when I call NCL.
Yes actually, I had the same problem you did determining the difference. So a Club Balcony is what you see in the video here, the primary difference in this room is the bathroom size. It has a full shower with a tub and 2 sinks. The Spa Balcony, is basically a regular balcony room, which has a smaller bathroom, 1 sink and smaller stand in shower, but you get access to the thermal spa. There is virtually no other difference in the rooms other than the bathroom size. Here is the trick through that they won't tell you. Don't offer more than $199.00 for the Spa upgrade. This is because you can buy a week long pass on the boat to the spa for $199, so if you offer more than that, you would actually be losing money. I hope this helps!
Thanks for the comments! So I was upgraded to the club balcony in this video from a regular balcony for $200. I would have to look at my full itemized cost of my time on the Breakaway to figure the actual room cost. I'm not sure if the $750 you mention is total cost or the upgrade cost. But if its the upgrade, that seems a little high. Just my thoughts though.

Did the couch pull out to a bed?
No, it did not… this particular room was only for designed for 2 people. I think that there are some cabins where the couch does pull out to a bed though… just not this one.

It is a liquid soap dispenser that they keep full. We actually brought our own little soap.

I do not believe we paid more in gratuities for this room… just the normal amount. I cannot remember what that was though.
