@@matthewshears44 Is it? Dier? Ward-Prouse? Henderson (if hes going to play a deep role), Rice? Which of these is too good? Henderson if he is fit and if hes playing that deep role. MAYBE rice who plays a similar role, but Phillips has a better passing range and just plays a different game to Rice. Very different player to Ward-Prouse, and frankly just better. MILES ahead of Dier. We have a lot of good AMCs, the issue isnt that the midfield is too good, its that we arne playing a formation that gets the most out of them. Play a 3 in midfield, with 1 holding midfielder. That holding midfielder could arguably be henderson, could arguably with Rice, and could arguably be Phillips. I think you can absolutely argue you take all 3 of those, cos Henderson could play further forward next to a Grealish or a Madison.
Out of interest, what do people think about Luke Ayling. I'll admit my bias as a Leeds fan, and I think it's not helped by the fact we have a wealth of English talent at RB and CB, but I think he goes under the radar a bit. This Leeds team has had it's critics, but I rightly think it has gotten a lot of admiration too, and is clearly achieving well for a newly promoted squad, where 3 out of our 4 new signings have been injured all season. With the success, people have gotten very excited about Raphinha, and rightly so. Kalvin has gotten the England call up he deserves (although a Englands double pivot formation does not suit him at all, he needs to be a single holding midfielder, who can spray passes out to our dynamic wingers, Kane, and some AMCs). And even Bamford is being talked about as an England debutant, with his impressive goal tally. HOWEVER, if you ask a Leeds fan, most of us will say that our best performer this year has either been Dallas for his vercitility, or Ayling. Ayling has been an absolutely outstanding RB at championship level for a few years, and has looked immediately at home in the prem. He has also had to move to CB to cover our injuries, and has put in an 8/10 every single week. Personally, if I could choose one Leeds player to add to the England squad, I think it would be him: Bamford is an incredible CF, but isnt good enough for England for me. Kalvin is the better player, but I just don't think he offers enough in the formation England play. Ayling however, I think could absolutely play a role, and could give a player like TAA the oppertunity to player in a more advanced role, where he is not as likely to get caught out defensively. What do other non-Leeds fans think of Ayling? Do people even know he exists? It's maybe an obscure name if you've not been following the club.
Ayling is decent (except last game where he made some costly mistakes) but he’s still levels below the rest and we have so much depth at RB. CB you don’t want too many pairings u want a solid 3 or 4 to keep the team slick so he wouldn’t make it there either

Barkley having a good season? I have watched every Villa game this season, and the Liverpool game is the only one Barkley bothered turning up for. I can see why Chelsea let him go on loan to us. He clearly has fitness issues and possibly an attitude problem too.
He's awful. He trots around like he doesn't care and on the counter attack, slows play down so much and never picks the pass out on time. Twice against Newcastle we we had big counters and barkley turned back towards our goal when he could've played watkins through on goal. He's shocking in every aspect
i hve to say, no disrespect to watkins, but all the chances Grealish (the sexiest man alive) makes if you have Harry Kane on the end of some of Grealish balls thats dangerous. i genuinely believe we can win the euros and if are to win do Grealish will be pivotal to it.
I pretty much agree with that lineup. Only thing I would personally change is to have rashford at lw and grealish at the 10 instead of foden, because I think rashfords pace and connection with luke shaw would be more valuable to the team

@@JamesLawrenceAllcott imo he doesn’t break up play or do long switches just because stats show he can play deep (allowing full backs to go on in our system) doesn’t mean he can play as a DM he’s a direct dribbler and 3rd man runner who’s defensive ability isn’t great it’s improving but he’s a 8 or 10 I think James definitely not a 6 possibly in a 4231 but even that would be a stretch
Kalvin Phillips is in the Carrick-Scholes mold of English midfielders and they are so rare that any time they show up England has to build around them imo.
Phillips in the squad just makes so much sense. He would sit at the base of that 3 perfectly and allow you to play two more attacking minded midfielders like Mount and Grealish ahead of him. Could easily drop back into a back 3 too as he does for Leeds.
I rate Phillips for Leeds because he’s got Bielsa to guide him as he’s a top manager but under Southgate I feel he’s been poor and JWP would be a much better fit
Pickford/Pope/Henderson Trent/James Maguire/Mings Stones/Gomez(if he plays games before season ends, if not konza) Shaw/Chillwell Henderson(same as gomez, if not JWP)/Rice Mount/Phillips Sancho/Sterling Grealish/Foden Rashford/Barnes (same as gomez, if not Maddison) Kane/DCL
The fact that he ranks so highly for key passes and will have that link up with Rashford that is tried and tested, Creswell has every chance too but Shaw is much quicker.
I vote: Jordan Pickford - Goalkeeper Nick Pope - Goalkeeper Dean Henderson - Goalkeeper Trent Alexander Arnold - Right Back John Stones - Centre Back Harry Maguire - Centre Back Ben Chilwell- Left Back Tyrone Mings - Centre Back Eric Dier - Centre Back Kyle Walker - Right Back Bukayo Saka - Left Back Jordan Henderson (Vice-Captain) - Holding Midfielder Harry Winks - Holding Midfielder Declan Rice - Holding Midfielder Jack Grealish - Attacking Midfielder James Maddison - Attacking Midfielder Mason Mount - Attacking Midfielder Phil Foden - Attacking Midfielder Harry Kane (Captain) - Centre Forward Dominic Calvert Lewin - Centre Forward Marcus Rashford - Centre Forward/Winger Raheem Sterling - Winger Jadon Sancho - Winger
What I fail to understand is that going forward England are very good, it’s the defence that’s the problem so instead of playing attack minded RBs why doesn’t wan bissaka play because his strength is defending. Makes no sense to me
Pickford is the best with his feet tho. He’s never made a mistake for England so idk why people get so annoyed about him playing, and if we want to play out the back Pickford is the best option.

Ahhhh yes, classic 4Cb, that's how I play FIFA. The Burnley dream 😂
Personally I feel Trippier should be at least in the squad, especially if Athleti win the league this year (Also Southgate loves him)
cresswel deserved a shout he can play as a cb , lb and lwb
Hes good at set pieces wne verswtile but hes pretty average
He's average, he would of been a good shout in 2016 when we were average.
Cress can only play centre-back in a 3.
Cresswell has been dropped for so many games since Tuchel took charge, he prefers Alonso at LWB.
@@SpringtrapLover2010 yep Cresswell plays for Chelsea

Shaw imo has to be a starter. He's become an entirely different animal this season. Easily one of if not the best LB in the league.
The best 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@jansbebnshwhnweb6127 Name a better left back this season ? Shaw's creative output has been nuts and his defensive out put hasn't been as good but still up there.

Just watched the United VS City game , Luke Shaw has to start he's been immense & absolutely class!🔥 His cross accuracy , dribbling , defensive play , running up & down the pitch he's easily the best option at LB

You're having a tough time doing this, imagine the french bloke doing the same over there. ^_^
After Bellinghams 6th CL game of the season and his performance last night I think he deffo deserves a call up. Especially if Henderson isnt fit.
Pope - Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw - Henderson, Mount, Grealish - Sterlin, Rashford, Kane...mixture of youth and experience, perfectly balanced

Let’s go 80k lad
I'd take Phillips. There is a player like him in the squad, plus he can play CB
Facts
The midfield is to good for him to get in
@@matthewshears44 Is it?
@@control2XS Rice is better than Philips in everyting tbh
*Best English 4-3-3 on Paper*
ST - Kane
LW - Rashford
RW - Sterling
CM - Grealish
CM - Mount
DM - Henderson
LCB - Maguire
RCB - Stones
LB - Shaw
RB - Trent
GK - Pope
James is gonna fullback our way to glory!
This year and right now deciding who to put in the squad is way to difficult for fullbacks and midfield
Michael Keane for me is on that plane ahead of mings and dier, he’s been solid ,underrated this season
He's shocking in every aspect
my starting 11 would be:
gk- pope
lb - shaw
cb- stones
cb- walker
rb - james
cdm- rice
cam- grealish
cm - mount
lw- sterling
st - kane
rw - sancho
bench:
foden, trent, maddison, rashford, dcl, henderson, chilwell, maguire, saka, dier, mings, awb, henderson(gk), cho
Great channel. I always feel smarter after watching it. An education in making an argument for your case in any subject, not just football.
i hve to say, no disrespect to watkins, but all the chances Grealish (the sexiest man alive) makes if you have Harry Kane on the end of some of Grealish balls thats dangerous. i genuinely believe we can win the euros and if are to win do Grealish will be pivotal to it.
Hes a different talent 🐐
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Henderson Rice
Sterling Foden Grealish
Kane
I’m a united fan and Maguire shouldn’t be near that team. I’d have Graelish no. 10 and Sancho instead of foden
@@10chaudhry no chance, Grealish is a must be tbf to foden hes been world class this season and for me he has to play
I pretty much agree with that lineup. Only thing I would personally change is to have rashford at lw and grealish at the 10 instead of foden, because I think rashfords pace and connection with luke shaw would be more valuable to the team
@@alexkielty7263 I think foden being world class is a stretch. Yes, he’s been good but not world class he doesn’t even play that regularly for city. He’s definitely on the plane but Graelish has been great all season he’s a must start for me! I don’t want to see Maguire on that plane!

On recent form I don’t think it would be a surprise to see Lingard, southgate likes him and knows him and if he can see him being a good fit i can imagine him getting selected
“Curtis can sit at the base of a 3” whaaaaa ,he cannot like ik they rotate in game but he rarely touches Dm he’s a 10 or 8 and can play wide left
If you look at the average positions for some of the recent games you will see that he plays as the deepest midfielder at times and with his pass completion so high, but his key passes relatively low I think he’d be a good fit

You'd go James Ward-Prowse or Curtis Jones as a CDM over Phillips??
doesnt make any sense lol
Kalvin Phillips is in the Carrick-Scholes mold of English midfielders and they are so rare that any time they show up England has to build around them imo.
Rice plays the deeper lying holding midfield role which I’d say Phillips would go there too so the Henderson role wouldn’t be for phillips
Pickford/Pope/Henderson
Trent/James Maguire/Mings Stones/Gomez(if he plays games before season ends, if not konza) Shaw/Chillwell
Henderson(same as gomez, if not JWP)/Rice Mount/Phillips
Sancho/Sterling Grealish/Foden Rashford/Barnes (same as gomez, if not Maddison)
Kane/DCL

James "I'm worried about his groin" Allcott
Mount needs to start he's the spark in any squad
facts, Grealish is a super sub
Talks about how Shaw ranks 10th for assists but completely ignores cresswell in 6th. Okay mate
The fact that he ranks so highly for key passes and will have that link up with Rashford that is tried and tested, Creswell has every chance too but Shaw is much quicker.
left backs are defenders not attackers, defending stats are more important than attacking
@@tomventro6734 yeah you're not wrong but defending wasn't mentioned. So not relevant to this argument
