Italy dominated the Tokyo 2020 gold medallists USA to claim their first-ever Olympic medal in women's volleyball. The Italians won the match in straight sets (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) to claim the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ho pianto per mezz'ora, erano più di 30 anni che guardavo la pallavolo maschile e femminile (anche i mondiali, gli europei e la Nations League) aspettando quel maledetto oro che era sfuggito ad Atlanta 1996 (Proprio con Julio Velasco, Lorenzo Barnardi che oggi erano in panchina, insieme a Marco Bracci, Luca Cantagalli, Ferdinando De Giorgi, Andrea Gardini, Andrea Giani, Pasquale Gravina, Luigi Mastrangelo, Marco Meoni, Samuele Papi, Andrea Sartoretti e Paolo Tofoli), poi ad Atene 2004 e di nuovo a Rio de Janeiro nel 2016. Sembrava una maledizione e per gli uomini ancora lo è, ma alla fine sono state le ragazze a farcela. Una squadra quella femminile che era già la più forte da almeno 5 anni ma che era sempre mentalmente debole e raramente riusciva a rovesciare una partita quando un set o la partita stessa s'indirizzava male. Ci voleva Julio per dare la mentalità vincente e la consapevolezza di poter non solo battere ma annientare chiunque e oggi è stato così, 3 set a 0 e gli USA mai in partita, tenuti sempre a 3 o addirittura 9 punti in ogni seconda metà del set, semplicemente spazzate via. È stato bellissimo, ho ancora le lacrime agli occhi solo a pensarci. 😢🥲 🇮🇹
Mi hai tolto le parole di bocca. Dopo quella maledetta finale contro l'Olanda finalmente abbiamo vinto l'oro. Finalmente siamo nella storia. IMMENSE ❤❤❤

I don t remember any team like Italy in volleyball history losing only one set in the whole olympics .And with a scores difference so high ,from the beginning to the end .There is never been a real fight .Dominance ,like the Cuba of Mireya Luis .Or the cska moscau 40 years ago.

@@luigibandiera4790 E' diventato sport scolastico proprio negli anni 90, grazie ai grandi successi internazionali dell'Italia di Velasco. Mi sembra che invece nei 70 e negli 80 a scuola si giocasse più a basket, hai conferme su questa cosa? Escludendo chiaramente il calcio, che come sport scolastico è sempre esistito
@@SoniaRoman10 No anche in quegli anni nelle scuole si praticava la Pallavolo ,il Basket era ritenuto uno sport più complesso dal punto di vista delle regole in più dovevi avere anche una certa prestanza fisica
