I went here in about 2005 as an intermediate surfer with a SA mate from Newquay who was advanced level and we both got zero waves. Actually he got one and broke his board and I got one when it went onshore and a shadow of its former self. I was used to North Fisty and this was on another level! Although the locals let me go on one which was a bomb but I pulled back so they didn’t give me another chance! Can’t blame them. Maybe I’ll pop back one day. Sick🤠🤙
Localism is the bane of surfing. This spot is rife for it, was here in 2018 and it was a nightmare, I gave up 5 waves when it was my turn, smiles from me to everyone but still, not very welcome at all, so glad I've got pretty much waves to myself at my home break, and when anyone comes here I love to see them, so much chill. People need to chill out and be sound. Have no interest in going back to Cornwall anytime soon at all.
@@spazzymacgee5648 There are some good spots in Cornwall, but this one in particular is kinda not that friendly to non-locals. If you wanna get barreled your options are shorter.
@@Outland9000 yeah , I lived in Cornwall for 2years but nearly all spots with decent waves are localized, I just don't get it, no one owns a wave, and the best of it is that a lot of these "locals" are blow ins from across the country claiming they own the break. It's cringe worthy. It's easily the worst area I've surfed due to these folk. Glad I've a chilled area where I surf now, all the local guys are so sound and welcoming.
@@spazzymacgee5648 we dont take "turns" you get waves by surfing good and by being in a better position than anyone else. this isnt golf or football. no turns. the best surfers get the best, and the most waves.
Very nice, I like the inclusion of the wide and contextual shots setting the scene, but at the same time that helps give away or confirm the location beyond doubt. Excellent drone work as well.
@@SuperSaiyenNinja I'm in the South East and know that spot! Nigel Semmens used to surf there in the 1970's and used to feature in 'Surf' magazine back in the day.
ben skinner, previous runner up world longboard championship and current no 5 in the world. pretty sure the grom charging was his son, too. got this place pretty dialed, for sure

That wave starting around 1:05 is sick as... Have to say its one of the best Cornish left tube rides Ive seen in a long time.
Yeah, that was a nuts tube!
1.05 ... 10s across the board for that ! Damnnn

I do agree but everyone in the south west knows this spot, they won't be doing any more damage than surf guides have already done

People all over the Globe know about this spot, it's not been a secret for decades.
I keep seeing these videos in my feed, and I'm thinking West Europe might be the place to be!
Nice to see some longboards getting some.
Damn that looks so fun!
Except for the freeze that is!!
Great wave.
Great edit, love this wave. But mate missing some firing swells in the North East!
