I just hatched out a batch 5 days ago for the FIRST time (because no broody hens this time of year) and I wanted at least 6 more dark brown egg layers for the spring. They looked so pitiful (though amazing) when they first hatched, I kept praying they would make it 😂. They all made it except one, and it was viable up until day 18 when I last candled it. The others hatched on day 20, I left the one lonely egg in until day 24. Did an eggtopsy, I guess it was not in the correct position to hatch. There was NO movement of the egg after the others hatched, so there was nothing I could do to save it 😢. Anyway, thanks for sharing... it's so exciting and they're so cute after they dry. 🐣🐣🐣🐥🐥🐥
We are half way through our first incubation and it's so exciting. We've let our ducks hatch out babies the past few years and actually got to watch some of them break out but I think it's going to be so much more exciting for the kids to watch it happen in the incubator. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting video about this wonderful breed, along with the previous one...I have one young black copper hen, and I'm searching for a good rooster...Thanks to the pretty lady who explains so clearly; it shows the passions she has for her animals. Greetings from Italy
What is the correct way to rotate the incubating eggs when advice I've seen is to keep the narrow end downward? I see yours are marked on the side. Great video, thanks.
Hi! Do you guys sell fertilized Maran eggs or do you order them? If so, from where do you order. I am looking for a trusted source to hatch some of my own.
+leanne smith Up to 7 days. I try to use some with just a few days if possible. I leave them in a bowl and do not wash them because you will wash the protective bloom off the egg. Thanks for watching! xo
Just lost my hatch. I only got one chick. My sister law hatch some of her Leghorn and all did well. My copper Marans didn't make it. What the heck am I doing wrong. I kept everything great. Feeling so hurt. They were dead in their egg. But I did have one to make it.

Hi! What humidity level did you use? I’m trying to hatch Marans but keep reading different opinions on the humidity :-(
What humidity did you use for hatching the bcm eggs?
so sweet!! now do you go in and remove the egg shells after they have hatched or do you wait until they are all done?thank you so much for sharing!
I waited. I did not open the incubator until they had all hatched-that is to not disturb the humidity level. Thanks for watching!
I would honestly do the same. If you are happy with the amount that hav e already hatched though then i would take em out.
What temp did you keep your incubator set at? mine is very similar to yours, but I've misplaced my manual. I'm hoping yours is in celsius, as mine is.
Hi we are thinking about hatching our selves I had a question what are u talking abut by " filling up the water"
Hollow Farm Tutorial There is a place to fill in water-that is what provides the humidity.
I’m about to attempt some black copper marons in a magic fly too. What temperature did you use for them? Thank you
I want to bring chickens. My chicken does not sit on the eggs.
advise me how to choose a mini incubator. so it worked well.
with good productivity.
I'm so worried. We lost power in a storm for a cpl hours and my eggs are incubating..do you think they will be ok?
First-YES. Second-I wrap my bator with a towel or two if I think the power might go. 3-If NOT, then God has a different place. xo
Oh my gosh-so cute! Can't wait to get some!

Do you have marans's fertilized eggs to sell?
Watching that baby hatch was the best! I miss hatching babies.. just might hv to get another incubator 😊
Hi, do you sell fertile Moran eggs?
No, Sir.
Just lost my hatch. I only got one chick. My sister law hatch some of her Leghorn and all did well. My copper Marans didn't make it. What the heck am I doing wrong. I kept everything great. Feeling so hurt. They were dead in their egg. But I did have one to make it.
Teresa Kumar same here. All 6 of my BCM did not hatch. The others did. I’ve read that the humidity levels are different with them.
I’ve read their shells are thicker..difficult to hatch, they may need help..
There are several types of marans no one ever talks about for instance noire and birgen
So great, TY!
amazing.
Love this
You're Lucky to have that breed
