@@allgaming9737 When there are 2 villager in a farm one villager gives his crops to another villager. Since wheat can't be consumed directly villagers convert it into bread and they toss food. So we keep hoppers,so other villager don't get food and we get that food
But here the villagers inventory is full so when he tries to collect wheat because of his full inventory he couldn't pick it and minecraft with hopper collects it

just a feedback: at 4:51 it would be much easier to follow if you built the walls before covering up the soil. Specially because there is no difference between the dirt of the farm and the dirt of the world

the spruce farm is hard to build as it requires the tnt...
some tips for 1.18:
1. yes, this one can be used in all crops
2. yes, you can make it multi level, just use hoppers to send corps down to the chest.
3. if you want to use this farm for wheat/beetroots, you should give your farmer 8 sets of seed to fill the villager's inventory. or the villager would pick wheats/beetroots up, which could make this farm less efficient.
4. if the villager use composter too much, cover the composter with trapdoors so the villager can't approach it. This method would sacrifice the farm land around the composter, but after testing, it would make this farm more efficient.
Can i add another villager to the farm ?
I tried doing number 4 but the villager still seems to be able to interact with the composter, as I keep getting bonemeal
Even tried using a 3 by three square of trapdoors around the composter but then the villager just completely ignores the wheat and will occasionally lose his profession

Important: If the villager is composting his seeds too fast you can add trap doors to prevent him from being able to compost. See Dusty Dude's design.

For anyone who is confused why your farm is not working, read this:
Long answer: If i'm correct villagers have 8 slots of inventory, but if you kidnapped him from a village he probably had stuff like wheat, bread, carrots etc. You can't get rid of those items. The villager has to get rid of it himself, after enough minecraft days he will clean out the trash like carrots or bread by consuming or even planting them. After this his inventory will probably consist about of 6 of seeds and 2 stacks of wheat. You can never retrieve those items but once that has happened he will basically never pick up any wheat ever again and your farm will work fine. He does create bonemeal from the seeds but you get like 2-3 seeds per harvest so that will probably not be a problem. There is no way to block that without the farm malfunctioning.
Short answer: The villager needs time to get rid of useless items. Once those are gone, (which happens automatically and you can't control it) Your farm will eventually work after about 7-14 in game days. Just a guess.
Edit: There actually is a way to slightly speed this up. If you check on him once in a while and see stuff like potatoes and carrots or beetroots. Remove it and make sure he doesn't pick it up!

@Itchy armpits check if it is facing towards the other hopper. To do this, face that hopper and crouch and right click so that the hopper is placed facing the other hopper you want your items to go into
@Itchy armpits ohhhhh I misread your comment. I just read hopper instead of minecraft hopper. Yes, the hopper on top of which the minecraft hopper stops should not have a redstone torch below or it locks the hopper

Could you possibly make farms using the new snapshot? For example a stray (slowness arrow) farm can be used by using a skeleton farm and freezing them in powdered snow?

If you don't want bone meal you can add trapdoors on the glowstone so villager can't get to composter. He will still be able to harvest wheat under the trapdoors :)
I put it on the glowstone, it doesn’t work, what did i do wrong?

If you put more water in the corners you can extend this farm out to 7 blocks out from the centre and it still works with just one farmer. Makes a lot of difference when stacking these for larger farms

So I’ve been watching your videos a lot lately and have built quite a few of your farms, but I’ve seen you guys using a pretty complex looking shulker storage in some of your builds. Is there already a tutorial out there? because I have some farms that keep producing too much items for the chests and hoppers to hold so this would be great!

Mostly the Villager will put to much seed in the composter, so he gets a free slot and start to collect the wheat. To fix this, put open trap doors to every side of the composter (one block above), so he cant reach it anymore, but still hold his job.
So the trapdoors would be at the side of the glowstone?

I did this but the villager still tried to reach the composter and doesn't harvest the wheat. I tried to remove and replace the composter but the problem still remains
@@spicydonut4366 the villager needs to become a farmer. For this he maybe need to reach the composter once. As a Farmer he runs from time to time against the trapdoors to reach the composter, but he dont do this all the time. Just dont expect him to harvest the wheat instantly.

Tried this in Java edition 1.18.1. Was having problems with villager producing bonemeal and not much wheat, so I put trapdoors around the composter.
Also removed the second layer of carpet, because he kept getting stuck to one side. This didn't fix the problem, so he still gets stuck.
This altered version produces 10 wheat per 10 minutes if I'm lucky.
Hopefully this helps with anyone with similar problems.

I built this and it has been running for hours and no wheat. I checked the rail system and it does collect. What am i doing wrong? I stacked the villager with seeds as well.

Your timing is getting better
Java 1.17.1, it works, but you have to cover around the glowstone (i did it with trapdoors, the villager wouldn’t be able to interact with the composter, and the farm will work just fine
After putting trapdoors also villager is able to interact with composter can you please help me with that

Few things wrong with this design:
1: Villager composts seeds and eventually makes bread. Tried using trapdoors in several different positions (4 closed ones around the composter, 4 open around the glowstone and 4 open around the composter, 8 around the glowstone), and the villager can either still reach the composter or if it cannot will ignore the wheat entirely and try to get to the composter, occasionally losing and regaining the profession.
2: The carpet can be a major issue, I have just built this farm and already am seeing wheat pop onto the bottom carpet which prevents it from being picked up by the hopper minecart.
3: I think the villager can pathfind through the glass blocks somehow. Whether the composter is accessible or not, the villager will quite often walk to the glass block wall, particularly the corners, and stay up against them doing nothing, even if there is a lot of wheat ready to be harvested.
Words of advice: Build a villager breeder before this to avoid the headache of trying to clear a villager's inventory. You'll need one anyway to get the librarians for enchanted books, toolsmiths/weaponsmiths/armourers for gear, masons for easy quartz blocks, and other farmers or fletchers for obtaining emeralds.
EDIT: Point one can be fixed by placing 8 trapdoors around the top half of the glowstone, the other two points still stand.
Point 3 is probably due to Villagers behaviour changing throughout a Minecraft day. Theres a specific behaviour calling "exploring the outskirts" which even villagers with jobs will do in which they wander near the edges of their village which sounds very much like what you're observing. They'll stop their job completely to do this

This design could use some trap doors around the composter to prevent villagers from using it. It's important to keep the villager's inventory full of seeds too.
I also dislike mojang for not letting crops grow while the player isn't near. I wish I could put this farm in spawn chunks and forget it, but it requires afking.
@M.O.P Gaming you need to cover the top of the comparators correctly so the powered rail beside it will activate.
This was the only thing that made my farm work you should make videos because this tutorial had me confused for hours trying to keep them from making bread

does the water placement matter asides watering the farmland?
even after giving my villagers 8 stacks of seeds. After a while, the villeger will somehow get rid of a stack of seeds. And start making bread. Wich is pretty annoying.
I even double checked with a editor to see the inventory of the villager to make sure i did not screw up. They really just burn through the seeds faster then they replenish them.
yeah this farm doesn't work for more than 10 minutes just add trapdoors around the composter and it will work fine I gave them a dislike so that hopefully they can see there is something wrong.

The built is so epic but it has a really big problem after sometimes villagers use seeds to make bonemeal and there inventory gets empty and then they start collecting the wheat also. This is what happend whith me in my world even if a placed a glow stone on the top of composter plz help me out.

sorry about the late response lol. The fix to this is to put open trapdoors on the sides of the glowstone, so the villager cant reach the composter
