Nisyros is pronounced “Nee-see-ros”. Other than that atrocious mistake I thought it was a very good video covering a lot of Nisyros’ wonderful qualities. I don’t mind a little mispronunciation of the other place names but the name of the island itself should be said properly. If this mistake is corrected I’ll be happy to share the video.
Thank you very much for your comment, which we greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, we cannot change the audio now so the mispronunciation cannot be corrected. I know it's not your fault but the way Nisyros is written is pronounced as heard in the video. For a more accurate pronunciation, the spelling of the world has to be corrected by your Government. The same applies to other Greek places like Athens (Athena) and more.
@@ExplorationStories - the spelling has to be corrected by the government? In which way? It is spelled Νίσυρος in Greek which is Nisiros. The accent is on the first i.
@@koritsi56 I suppose you know that in all languages, the written form is visual representation of the accent. You write Αθήνα not Άθενς... I understand that ΕΛΟΤ743 has it's flaws, but blaming a foreigner for mispronounciation of a poorly written word is silly.
