Im a OST guy but i admit that the Arranged version took my mind even since i played it on Sega Saturn and PS1 and heard it on Neo Geo CD back then i was 17-18 good memories still my TOP5 favorite SNK THEMES ❤️👍🏼
The OST can't really do the sax as smooth and neat as a cd version. I'm mostly an AST guy, but I do prefer some OST versions of the songs like the ryuuko no ken 94
OMG is so cool that you noticed the 'fight' between the sax and the guitar since the guitar is the instrument of Kyo (in all his themes, he is the main character of the game) and the Sax is the predominant instrument in Iori's themes. Iori is Kyo's rival and when you listen to their themes, there are elements of their personalities present in every composition, and somehow it goes well together.

You don't even need to react to it but basically every one of this character's (iori yagami) themes, easily recognizable since they are almost all named arashi no saxophone or stormy saxophone with a number next to it has the same awesome jazz. Those and other iconic tracks from the kof ost make great casual listening having them on in the background while you do other things. The character himself plays bass guitar so im not sure why his theme all has a sax as the prominent instrument but im not complaining. This is actually an arranged version of original kof 96 arashi no saxophone 2. The original was still pretty progressive when it came out but is a bit more inline with what you'd expect a song in a video game from 1996 to sound like. Make sure you listen to the arranged version of every kof soundtrack for the older games just because they're better. The new games don't have arranged versions because they are all done using real instrumentation or modern synthesizers. One of the characters in kof: athena is a descendant of the MC of another game made by the same company also called athena. She is the first ever playable female character in a video game. and that same game also featured the first ever vocal track used in a video game. so its 2 huge firsts in one game. That song is called psycho soldier theme and made it into smash. bros ultimate. And kof did a ton to shape the landscape of game osts and fighting games in the current day. Anyway no need to make another video but i strongly recommend checking out the soundtracks for the games. maybe take a listen to the most popular ones from them.
I'm so glad to hear Arashi no Saxaphone 2 getting love. Having played the game since 96, and the characters whose stage this is for... it FITS SO WELL! Their stances and everything. Once of the characters has her primary stance just with her arms to her side, staring down her foe predatorily. SNK's sound team did such an amazing job on this one.
The best part is this theme (and other themes like it) are tied to the ultimate edgelord in fighting games. He's obsessed with beating the shit out of and killing the protag and he literally mauls his opponent like a wild animal in the ring and is just a generally unpleasant person to be around, and then you find out his themes are usually catchy jazz themes because he's actually a jazz musician outside the ring, and it just adds to this 90's-as-fuck bad boy style he's drenched in.
Another KOF track i highly recommend is Bloody, theme for team CYS, who coincidentally actually have beef with Iori, the character this track is the theme of, because his jazz band stole their band's spot at a show years ago. They're also secretly the reincqrnations of the servants of an evil god with dark powers bubbling under the surface, but hey nobodys perfect

Funny how you said it's like the guitar and saxophone are fighting because his nemesis (the protagonist) uses mostly guitars in his music while Iori uses the saxophone in all of his 👌
Okay, some (maybe poorly remembered) facts from the top of my head. This song is one of many renditions of Iori Yagami theme song. His story is that he basically was completely uninvolved jazz musician (IIRC specifically sax player) until his family's cursed blood powers awoke in him. He became a violent psycho driven mostly by the desire to kill his rival family current heir Kyo Kusanagi. Iori's theme are always heavily focused on saxophone and Kyo's themes always have a lot of guitar (both acoustic and electric). His new awoken powers are also an ancient curse that is going to kill him in few years. And also he and his rival are both instrumental to fight an ancient evil that threatens to kill all humans. He got better later in the story, but he is still pretty violent and rude (at least when around his rival) and it is unclear if he has or ever will be able to return to his former self. Also, he has a whole rival team of characters, who's story is that he has upstaged them once (he stole their gig) and now they are up for his blood. While I'm still here. Why don't you also check some KoF boss music? They are all very different, here's the list: Trash Head (KoF'96), Origin of Mind (KoF'97), Dear Fallen Angel (KoF'99), Last Dance (KoF'2002), Styx (KoF'2003), An Improvised Concierto (KoF XI), The One Who Rules Time (KoF XIII), Diabolosis (KoF XIII), Independence From An Aggregate (KoF XIV).

Funny, we have a different feeling about this one :) I feel the composer added touches of sultry womanliness in his saxo, because of the presence of Yagami's two new partners Vice & Mature. So to me, it was more like "you won't even get past my two special lady friends, how do you dare challenge me ? XD" .
Arashi 2 is the mist famous Iori's theme, but there's no doubt the best version is the original one from kof 95, in OST and AST (same with "cool jam").
If you want to listen to some other fighting game jams you should try listening to some Guilty Gear music! The director of the game is super into classic rock and metal so most of the songs are inspired after such. The main character of his game is also literally just a Freddy Mercury reference! I recommend "Let Me Carve Your Way" from Guilty Gear Strive! All the songs in Strive give a glimpse into how the character is or how they have changed and evolved from their previous iterations!
Totally an hyping melody °w° If I can give you a tip for a future video, I think you can appreciate Hymn of the Faith, from Final Fantasy X. I would suggest you the 4 minutes and 48 seconds version, from Distant Worlds concerts, that you can find here on youtube.
@@MarcoMeatball Uh, nice °w° I'm really happy. I suggested only one version because the song itself, even inside a single version, is a bit repetitive. So I though that it would be a bit bad to listen to it for a long period of time, at least for a video. Instead, that song it's perfect to sleep. Soo quiet and relaxing. Unfortunatelly I suffer from ear tinnitus, since about 5-6 years ago (probably caused by university stress), so I'm always using quiet music to try to cover the whistle in my ear. I always use Alexa with that song in loop for an hour, to sleep. Or also with Aerith's Theme, from FF7, or with "From Past to Present", from Skyrim (usually this last one, cause it's the quietest one I have °w°).
While I do enjoy that theme, I think Oryx's theme is Destiny's best theme next to The Witch Queen theme. Still Riven of a thousand voices theme is still good.
If I had to suggest any other Fighting Game music, personally I'd love to see you react to the OST for Guilty Gear Strive. Particularly "Drift" which is the theme for Happy Chaos (Yes that is his name) or "Let Me Carve Your Way" for Zato=1 (Again, Guilty Gear names are weird)
You should really check out Vode An from Star Wars Republic Commando. It's the opening theme. To me it feels much different than the rest of the star wars music.
For another fighting game theme, I’d probably say try Guilty Gear Strive themes, for instance Find Your One Way, Sol Badguy’s theme, Drift, Happy Chaos’s, or Mirror of the World, Baiken’s.

ゲーム(OST)の方は、NEOGEO基板によるIC音源で、チープですがバトルに適しています。

While I do enjoy that theme, I think Oryx's theme is Destiny's best theme next to The Witch Queen theme. Still Riven of a thousand voices theme is still good.
If I had to suggest any other Fighting Game music, personally I'd love to see you react to the OST for Guilty Gear Strive. Particularly "Drift" which is the theme for Happy Chaos (Yes that is his name) or "Let Me Carve Your Way" for Zato=1 (Again, Guilty Gear names are weird)
Delicinha de abacaxi ❤❤❤❤
You should really check out Vode An from Star Wars Republic Commando. It's the opening theme. To me it feels much different than the rest of the star wars music.
For another fighting game theme, I’d probably say try Guilty Gear Strive themes, for instance Find Your One Way, Sol Badguy’s theme, Drift, Happy Chaos’s, or Mirror of the World, Baiken’s.
