I love Sultan. It is very similar to several other cotton strand brands. The 4 strands are not really an issue. I made a gorgeous top using 2 cakes held together. The color transition was amazing! I receive so many compliments when I wear it. One note- the reason for the 4 separate strands is so the transition can be smoother with a better ombre effect.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience working with this yarn AND a tip on why the 4 plys are separated. Very insightful! I have no doubt you received compliments on the top you made with this yarn. It is very beautiful. 😊❤️🧶
Hi Tiffany🥀, the original cakes are from " Yarnart Flowers ".🥰 Hobbii buys these cakes and sells them under their own name as " Hobbii Twister ". I pay 8,45 euros for a cake. At Hobbii, the same cake costs 35,00 euros.😮 It's a big difference even thought it's the same yarn from the same country. Thanks for the sharing and greetings from Germany 🙋♀️
Hi Tiffany, Thank you so much for sharing everything with us!!! I love everything you make and you are so beautiful and talented 🥰 Please take care and stay safe and healthy 💕💗💖🎶🦋
Thank you for reviewing these yarns. ❤ I am currently about halfway crocheting your Spring Shawl with a Cotton Sultan Cake. I do not find it difficult to work with at all. I'm doing it in the colors yellow to red and then red to black. I'm combining 2 cakes, so it will be a huge shawl - maybe even a throw❓️
Oh Tiffany, I absolutely love them all! I would love the twister, simply because it has SOO many yards and I wouldn't have to worry about running out!!🤭🤭 Thanks so much foe sharing!!
Really appreciate your review of these cakes. I’ve been eyeing them for a while, but was reluctant to put out that much money on an unknown yarn. Thanks! 👍
Gorgeous yarn!! Obviously, the last one seems to be the best choice! I like the idea of making shawls or a summer top, like the Tiffany top. I like tops that I can put over a tank top. Thanks for sharing! 💜🧶
My favorite yarn is butterfly . I would make summer yop with sultan, granny square shrug with butterfly , lacy poncho with twister ❤ thank you Tiffany for reviewing these yarns . All the yarn colors are beautiful 🤩
Thank you for this review I order from them too I would make one of your shawls with it most likely Im not sure which one I would make they're all beautiful
Hi Tiffany Hansen right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and butterfly mosaic blanket and treble crochet blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite types of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your RUclips channel and keep up the great work on your crochet projects
Such gorgeous yarn and thank you for the review. I'm loving the butterfly yarn. I don't think I'd ever be able to afford it though. I'm a lover of lacy flowy shawls and all this yarn would be amazing worked up into some marvelous creations. 🧶😍
Thanks Tiffany, so interesting. I made a Tulip shawl with the Twister lovely definition, and baby coverlet and shawl with the Butterfly. My fav to work with was the Butterfly, too expensive though I dont know that I buy it again❣️
Hi Tiffany, great review. I’ve looked at these yarns quite a few times but never knew how or what to start with them. This has broken it down for me and I wouldn’t feel so scared about choosing them for a project now. Unfortunately, I have two favourites; the butterfly and the twisted. I love the colours you chose for this video. Hope you’re well and enjoying the summer? Niki
Butterfly is my favorite outta those 3. It's soooo silky and smooth to work with. But like you said, I have to have a very special project/person in mind to justify spending that much money.
I love those yarns. I wish we could get some of these yarns in Australia. If we buy from America you nearly have to double the price sometimes depending on the exchange rate. You have more choices than us 😊😊
I just placed my first order with them on 6/16. I've been anxiously watching the progress. It is supposed to arrive on 6/27. I don't think that is too bad, Denmark to AZ, USA. I did it because there was a sale. I think I ordered the Butterfly & am really eager to see it. Thanks for your video.
I use the cotton sultan for baby dresses and swimsuit cover ups. The twister is awesome for boho vests, ponchos and shawls. Haven't used the butterfly.
With the sultan yarn and yarns similar to this the thing to do is thread the yarn through a bead before you use it and it helps keep the strands together, I do this and have no problems, it is also a tip given by hobbi in the description of the yarn.
I love the color choices in all three yarns. I don’t think I would like to work with the cotton, seems like it would split too much. I would make a shawl or wrap with the others. Thanks for the review. I have been debating on purchasing from Hobbii. Seems a little pricey to me.
Boohoo 😭 I was hoping u got the Winter Glow yarns. But on those sultan cotton kings.. the best way to work with those 4 separate strands while crocheting is to pass a small bead through them to hold the strands together better while you work. 😊 Actually $10 is a great price for those .. that I think was a sale price.. I believe they are usually a lot more expensive than that. 😜
I love your tip on using the bead. Very smart! And, good to hear your perspective on the price of the yarn. I could be way wrong. I suppose it is up to the person using it what they think. Thank you for sharing your perspective. 😊❤️🧶
a poncho does anyone know a good color that would match Spirit from lion brand: i doubled the thread to start a throw, but its wider for two people, its going to take 10 plus and i already used 8, but seems i cant find that brand so icant finish it or maybe i should take it apart and make it one strand 😱
Great reviews but you failed to mention that the prices quoted were actually sale prices. Right now, Twister is $38ea unless you buy 6 balls and then it drops to $26.65ea. Granted Twister is a great yarn if you catch it on sale and your preferred colorway is in stock. I do like that they offer solids that pair well with the multi-colored.
I got this yarn about a year ago and I wanted to make a small like throw blanket for my hanging chair. It is Yarn Bee sugar wheel cotton. I have two colors that I was debating which one to use. Zest Wishes and Sprinkles on Top. It is 100% cotton yarn. Size 3. 335 yards. It is twisted. I was wondering of you thought I could man each banker out of it and of so if you could recommend a pattern. Thanks!
Hi @ragnarroo5784! I am so excited for the colors you have! So pretty. Honestly, my experience with blankets is that I use approximately between 1,200 - 2,000 yards of yarn for a regular throw blanket size blanket measuring approximately 50 inches wide by 60 inches long. If you want to make a blanket with the yarn you have I would probably aim for a small blanket size like a nice lapghan MAYBE a small throw blanket. The stitch you use will also come into play. Some stitches are known as YARN EATTERS and will result in getting less length for the yarn you have. I would highly highly highly recommend you work up a swatch before you start your blanket so that you know what you are capable of achieving with the yarn you have available to you. For some help on how to figure out your swatch information, check out my Swatch Series where I break it all down. CLICK HERE: ruclips.net/p/PL6HRmAfbRXTV5Kt9XjOmWPEmXBaVn5nkV
Great question @lucieperchellet. Actually YES! Hobbii is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Shipping internationally is fickle. I've had some shipments get to me fast and others that took an eternity. I'm just grateful of the cost being so low to make up for it. 🤷🏼♀️😊❤️🧶
That is a great question. Actually, the patterns don't have names just numbers. The crochet stitch book I used had an interesting way of identifying the patterns. 😊❤️🧶
LOL RIGHT! I didn't even think of that until you said something! Now I'm so grateful I made a few of these yarn review videos. Being able to go back to them in a couple years to see how things have changed will be fascinating!
While I enjoyed your descriptions of the yarns, I sensed you were not a fan of cotton yarn and that's why you disliked the sultan yarn more than the butterfly and its overpriced acrylic. Overall I did like the video
I appreciate your perspective! Honestly, I LOVED the colors. The prettiest cotton yarn I've ever seen. The plies not being twisted are not a problem for me though I can see them being a big problem for newer crocheters. The thinness of the yarn means you need to be very careful with which project you decide to make with it. BUT could be fantastic for a wearable because it won't be too heavy. I just think this yarn needs to be planned and well thought out on how it will be used before someone purchases it. 😊
I love Sultan. It is very similar to several other cotton strand brands. The 4 strands are not really an issue. I made a gorgeous top using 2 cakes held together. The color transition was amazing! All these colors are gorgeous. My favorite is beach beryl!! Wonderful ideas on what to make with these yarns.

Thank you for the yarn review Tiffany. One thing you should have added is that the prices really fluctuate and when on sale is really good prices.
Oh! That's a great point. I'll add that next time. You're right. Hobbii can have some really great sales. 😊❤️🧶
What a great review. You're very honest. I really can't choose a favorite.
Thank you for this review I order from them too I would make one of your shawls with it most likely Im not sure which one I would make they're all beautiful
Wonderful yarn and color choices. Love your fan base. 🩷
I must have missed a lot Saturday. All of these are so pretty. I didn't get a notification for the video. I will recheck it.

Love the butterfly yarn, they were all beautiful, thank you I was really curious about the all cotton and this answered my questions,.❤
Such gorgeous yarn and thank you for the review. I'm loving the butterfly yarn. I don't think I'd ever be able to afford it though. I'm a lover of lacy flowy shawls and all this yarn would be amazing worked up into some marvelous creations. 🧶😍
I usually wait for Hobbii sales and mystery bags. Love their yarns.
They all are gorgeous! I love the 1 weights so much. I love the sultan deluxe in andamooka Opal.
Thanks Tiffany, so interesting. I made a Tulip shawl with the Twister lovely definition, and baby coverlet and shawl with the Butterfly. My fav to work with was the Butterfly, too expensive though I dont know that I buy it again❣️
Thank you for the review Tiffany 💜⭐
Thanks for sharing. I am a hobbii fan. I love them all.🌸💜
My favorite is Butterfly. It makes a lovely, soft shawl.

When I need Hobbii yarn I just wait for sales, they have everything we need, loved your explanation 👆👆
Id make a top or shawl I think or a blanket if I had four to work with lol ❤😂

The twister and the sultan
I love hobbii yarns, but only buy them on sale. They are my go to for all yarn types.
I’m waiting for 2 colors of their Acacia Yarn to come back into stock. Then I’m going to attempt a lightweight sweater pattern.
Pretty yarns
I love the Butterfly, but would only buy it on sale.

They are gorgeous. How do you pick 1 lol.
thank you Tiffany
I use a larger than called for hook with Cotton Kings #2 weight. It makes very lacy wraps and shawls.
Have to wait for a sale moving to another state
Can you make or do you have a video about the best stores to look for affordable (and durable) yarn?
That sounds like a great video idea! Would be so much fun to share this information. Thank you for asking. I'll look into this. 😊❤️🧶
I'm curious where these yarns are purchased. They are so beautiful
Great question! All of these yarns can be found at Hobbii.com 😊❤️🧶
@CrochetWithTiffany thank you Tiffany for your quick response
I just bought the halloween twister limited edition one and it was 25$
a poncho

Thank you!
Twister yarn is regular priced @ $38 dollars. Tiffany, did you get them on sale?
I think I purchased one of the bundles of buy 4. That must have been it.
I never see people talking about this, but doesn't Hobbi ship out of Denmark? It took forever for my order to come here in the US. LOL!

What are the patterns you used on the swatches? I just stumbled upon your channel.
That is a great question. Actually, the patterns don't have names just numbers. The crochet stitch book I used had an interesting way of identifying the patterns. 😊❤️🧶
For 1 cake of the twister yarn it is $38.00 Australian dollars in America. You guys seem to have more variety than in Australia 😢😢
I'm hearing that. Wish there was a way to get more yarn options around the world.
Price too please?
They're in the description, you have to expand it but she put all the details!
Thank you, I missed it. 💞🙏🏻
Ah, back when $10 for a 800yd+ skein was expensive )):
