  • Bass has been sold - thanks y'all! The Noir is still for sale: • Fender Noir Precision ...
Hot dang I love this p bass! If I weren't short scale coded, I'd keep this one and the other I have right now (Noir).
I brushed on it in the video but the slight rattle is really only at the 2nd fret, which is why I hit it a few times so you can hear it. Probably a slight crowning is needed to get it perfect, but it's not that big of an issue and a common thing with modern MIM stuff.
Also correction: It's 9 lbs 2 oz. The Noir is close to 8.5 lbs, so I got my wires crossed.

Hello, like you, I also use a buttercream player. I have always been curious to know how much it will affect if I change the bridge it comes with for a Mustang one.

Not sure what the benefit would be of doing that. Are you hoping for more control over string spacing? Look into Hipshot bridges. Certain models have adjustable spacing and they are direct replacements. There's a Hipshot bridge on the bass in this video. Hipshot makes the best bass hardware in my experience.

@@MrBrawl Since I was little, the Mustang Bridge has been my favorite for nothing more than aesthetic reasons.

The riff at 5:00 to 5:20 is awesome, is it from a song or you just make it up?

Improv'd on the spot - thank you! It's just a little major progression a la Can't You See (Marshall Tucker).

Dude, you're gonna sale that? I've been playing over 40 years and that's one of the best sounding Precisions I've ever heard. Dude, trust me, you'll one day regret selling that bass! Trust me on this one. If you just need the money, sell it to a friend or family member with an agreement that you can buy it back...trust me on this one...

No regrets - just more gear 😎
The Mojotone 70s clone pickup does all of the heavy lifting here, so if you want a p bass that sounds the same, grab one of those and a good wiring harness and throw them in your favorite p bass. I always rec the Hipshot company's stuff, too, and the bridge here is no exception.

Oh and ofc having some compression and an SVT style pre will do the rest.

If you like p basses but want an easier playing experience, check out an older usa peavey fury...sonically it does the pbass thing, it has a jazz profile neck with 1.5" nut width, and its noticably lighter than any mim p I've played

Sorry, Fury's are nice basses but also long scale, which I do not play anymore. I am most likely going to end up getting a Fender Urge I to try.

@@MrBrawl Be advised, the urge isn't a shortscale either but medium...worth a try though I suppose
