Great vid Cam! 🤙🎣Watched a guy filet a BRed caught near the ferry last week. Meat looked just like urs & surprisingly it didn't have worms either. This video & his fish are Myth Buster's. ALL BRed's do not have worms. But u describing the texture makes me not want to eat it still.😕
Hey man just moved to Galveston in January and looking to get into some of these bulls, not looking to steal your spot but what cut or channel is this or what's a place you'd recommend trying during this time of the run? Love the videos!!!!!!
If you want to catch some bull reds and big drum, hit the Texas city dike and go almost to the very end on the channel side (right side when driving down). Throw out half a blue crab as far as you can get it and you’ll get bit eventually!
I've caught sheep heads and drums in the past and the meat texture was jello like. Never have I came across a Jello meat bull. First time seeing a bullred with Jello like meat. Other than that I will keep bring a bullred every year.
The way you describe the meat it sounds a bit like grouper. Anything but a small grouper has the consistency of Ribeye fat. Kind of squishy but a little tough, flavor is OK, it's just a texture you need to get used to. I have a Bullred tag but was told to use it on a 28-32" because anything bigger would not be worth eating.
Bruh lmao I'm sitting here watching this thinking the same thing like wtf??? 😂 I love catching bullreds and bull black drum but they're full full of worms plus they're the breeding population.
You need to grind the meat, spice it up and make deep fried fish balls out of it. You should not be cooking this type of meat on the grill. Same thing with carp.
Please excuse the wind noise in the beginning, it gets better after a few minutes! Thanks for watching!
Let me know if you'd like to meet up. I have a drone to fly bait out to try that. Maybe you can teach me how to use an application I have.
This is what I miss!! This is so peaceful...seagulls in the background and windy. Congratulations on providing great content doing what you love.
Thank you very much!
catch and cook videos are the best
Glad you like them!

I simply love watching your videos you're very informative
Starting to get into fishing, what time time would you suggest I’m going and what bait did you use? Thanks , great content!
Early morning or near sunset is usually the best time for fishing.
I never found worms in a bull red they are delicious to me
Nice vid 👍
A lot of times a fish will curl up when you keep the skin on it

San Louis pass is great as well. Just stay out of the water. The current will sweep you out.
Im nosey, where is this spot?

I have only caught one other fish with that same texture and it was a slot black drum!

Nice fish! I would really appreciate if you shared that spot.

We needa hook you up with a DeadBaitDudes leader🙌
I've tried to like Bull Red but that texture is like uncooked chicken.
I didn’t know if this one had something wrong with it or if they’re all like that, but never again! Lol
@@BeforeOutdoors usually the bigger the reds are the more chewy the meat is. Slot reds that are around medium size are good to eat but bull reds nah
Love those Bulls. You are expecting flaky meat. Guess u don’t like Lobster. Same consistency. Yummy!
What was your tackle set up? And your line set up ?
65 lb braid, no less then 40lb mono leader.
that by ICW?
What mean ICW??

Fun to catch, but usually full of worms and the meat is like chewing cotton. Just sayin'
