Normally I would agree with you but for the past few years the Lord has been continually showing me in dreams that he is cleansing his church. I don't have any specific intel on Evans but in general I believe God is the one exposing all this corruption. I'll take a wait & see approach with Evans but my gut tells me the last thing we need to be praying for is restoring him to ministry.
As in the case of Bickle & ihopkc we need to be praying for continued exposure of spiritual corruption. On the night I heard of the allegations against Bickle I got a powerful dream about Psalm 45. At the time it didn't make sense to me... now it does. Reacquaint yourselves with that Psalm and I believe it'll become clear what God is up to right now. And then the ongoing exposure of guys like Bickle & Evans will make perfect sense. It's only begun.

There were also serious repercussions that God sent Nathan to announce to David. The church needs to obey the WHOLE counsel of the scriptures... 2 Samuel 12:5-11 (NASB) Then David’s anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die. 6 He must make restitution for the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no compassion.”
7 Nathan then said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the LORD God of Israel, ‘It is I who anointed you king over Israel and it is I who delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I also gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your care, and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah; and if that had been too little, I would have added to you many more things like these! 9 Why have you despised the word of the LORD by doing evil in His sight? You have struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword, have taken his wife to be your wife, and have killed him with the sword of the sons of Ammon. 10 Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’ etc.

This happened in my church 30 odd years ago when my pastor had a sexual relationship with a young woman in the church, whilst he was married with two children. The family emigrated to a foreign country. Some time later there was a whole church meeting called one evening. He publicly confessed to the whole congregation. Dunno why the Leadership team took many months to make a decision but better late than never, I suppose. His marriage was healed over some years with the help of the elders and friends. Whilst never restored as a pastor, he has led a decent Christian lifestyle and his marriage was healed.

To say that I was shocked, saddened and heartbroken, upon hearing the news, would be an understatement. But brethren, let's be sober and remember what Dr Evans reminded us of: "you serve the Lord Jesus Christ, not a man". Also, as disappointing as these recurring leadership failures are, it is important to remind ourselves that God still has thousands of prophets who have not bowed their knees to Baal (1 Kgs 19:18). These servants may not be as well known as the Dr Evans' of our time, but they exist, and that ought to encourage us.
I commend our brother, Dr Evans, for his open confession of sin and his decision to step down and go through a period of repentance, healing and restoration. For me, his admission of "sin" and failure to apply "righteous standard" to whatever did happen are enough. Getting to know further details of the sin in question doesn't change the fact that he sinned or the seriousness of it. Sin is sin and it's always an attack on the majesty of God! Our focus, as believers, should be to pray for his genuine repentance and restoration, and, more importantly, taking heed to ourselves, lest we too fall (1 Cor 10:12). May the Lord's peace and His abiding presence be with Dr Evans, his family, OCBF and the entire body of Christ. Maranatha.

But it's actually only a very small percentage considering how many millions were in those cities.

Very gracious, true & careful words. Thank you!! This could possibly stem from jealousy from on lookers in the church, especially if he is happy in his new marriage after the hard loss of his wife as the active influence she had in the church. Being a pastor is hard!! They are under the microscope 24/7- 365. They are only a man and a man at best. They are not a machine. God help us all as we struggle thru these difficult last days that were predicted long ago. One thing I know, many people idolize a pastor & make it difficult for him to retire. Maybe some are elevated too high & need to retire before the weakness of the flesh becomes more difficult to control. None of us are exempt from falling even when we have the best of intentions. God help us to fall on our faces as we all work out our salvation with fear & trembling before you. God, YOU alone are worthy!!! ❤

David did not come forward he was confronted, but when he did, he repented. He should have come forward, but the issue is how David handled this. I commend TE for humbling himself and repenting. There is hope for him and the Church. Just to clarify, a pastor sinning and repenting is not an issue of apostasy. Apostasy is a falling away from the faith it's a complete denial of Christ. This isn't that.

One thing that stands is Dr. Evan’s has maintained a level of integrity for his entire ministry. The proof is in the fruit. This man has been above reproach for yearsssss so therefore I already know that Dr. Evan’s is still maintaining a level of integrity by stepping down and following the church protocol. This is for integrity and as an example. Knowing the fruit and level of conviction by Dr. Evan’s I already know to not assume it is something major. I truly look at the timeline and say it could have been he had a moment after his wife’s passing and maybe made an only fans account or was wrestling with pornography or maybe so much stress he started drinking, who knows. We will never know but BY HUS FRUIT I can see him repenting in private and moving on. For him to have to tell his now wife and children would be it has come up now and so he must do the public repentance as well. I truly feel it is not that he never repented then. His fruit makes me say he repented when it DID happen but did not do it publicly. I will continue to honor and pray for this man of God who has lived righteously and lived well. They tried this mess with Dr. Charles Stanley as well because his wife divorced him. One thing people need to understand is we all fall short. Those two men by far have LIVEDDDDD KINGDOM CONSISTENTLY for decades. When they finally have something happen it is not for us to say aha! They were NOT living secret double lives unlike many of these new microwave preachers who preach for their own edification. Dr. Stanley just could not juggle a healthy marriage while loving Kingdom more. The wife wanted his time but he was married to souls and kingdom. I still respect that although his wife should’ve been a priority too. Same happened with Tom Brady, he was born to play football and however wrong to neglect his wife and family I can have compassion to know why. Stop judging these men (Pastor Evan’s & Pastor Stanley) when their fruit has shown they love Christ, have given their life in service to Christ, and still have to battle the flesh. His legacy is still good as it lives on down to his grandchildren.

Instead of trying to find out what the sin was we need be supportive. NOT supportive of the sin but as a Christian.
We ALL want and EXPECT those who find themselves in a position of compromise and sin to REPENT. And when they do we want to pull it apart and feel we DESERVE the RIGHT to know the sin. This is NOT biblical.
I must say this is a man ( not because he is Tony Evans) that I am thankful of. WHY because he did a COURAGES act. He CHOSE to step down. He chose NOT to continue but to REPENT. This is NOT a sandal. He is allowing the LEADERSHIP to determine his restoration journey.
If a can of paint falls and gets paint on those standing close to the can; would you call all those who did not get paint on them to come closer to get paint on them???? Think about it.
My we pray for the Body of Christ to have God fearing conviction that cause us to REPENT and TURN from anything that is unholy. EVEN if it is going to cost you everything.

Which is more honoring to God, the man who gets up every Sunday morning to teach truth to his congregation and do what God has gifted him to do, write books that God has laid on his heart, and travel to speak and make a difference for the kingdom or create a RUclips channel critiquing those that are out there in the fight and bring everyone’s attention to their moral shortcomings? Surely Satan has a target on the men out there doing what God has called them to do and making a difference in so many lives around the world! We should be praying more for these men and women. As a good leader, I’m sure Pastor Evans has capable teachers in the church that can keep the ministry going! I’m not sure why 40 years of teaching need to come to a halt. Where is the biblical example for that? If you have truly experienced God‘s love, grace and his mercy in a real way you wouldn’t be so quick to spend so much time talking about someone else’s shortcoming’s! Would Jesus do a podcast like this? When I read the gospels, I see him pretty slow to judge and quick to forgive! Why does the church always want to drag their own out into the public Square to tear them down? What good does that serve?

    • @charisgrace2614

Would Jesus do a podcast like this? The Bible is FULL of stories of failures of people who should have, could have done better... why? To illustrate our dire need for faith, redemption and dependence on a Perfect God. Dr. Evans is a public figure with a public ministry that ultimately is receiving public scrutiny. That's one reason the Bibles says teachers face stricter judgment (James 3). Is anyone holy? We definitely need to talk about this.

The reason ministers succomb is not because they're more prominent on Satan's radar, but because they don't have a real job that taxes their energies away from temptation. Everyone who has been put on a pedestal will fall because they all suffer from the same problem every one else does in the Church - a life that is partly or even mostly sustained by the power, will and morality of the individual. That is not enough. The enemy WILL find the cracks and exploit them. Only true dependence on The Holy Spirit like Jesus lived can cut it perfectly. So don't be too downcast. There is a systemic problem in the Church that has been there for hundreds of years - the lack of discipleship in walking WITH THE Lord, and learning to live by His life. This story doesn't sound like apostasy to me. Not yet.
Brother Joshua, I know you love the Lord and are not an apostate. But can you honestly say that over the last 12 months, there was nothing in your life that is reproachful?
The Lord is cleansing His Body...that means ALL OF US. Some will fall away rather than be cleansed. But some will be cleansed and truly learn to depend on Him for Holy living. Because there is no other way to live holy, other than by The Holy Spirit. It is not by man's will, even though that is involved.

Dr. Evans chose to come forward to inform his flock of his stepping down due to something that caused him to sin. I don't understand why you think he needs to expose exactly what he did. He did the right thing, he took the right steps required by Scripture. It's s not necessary that the details are revealed to man. He only should confess his downfall before God. He is being a role model to the body of Christ which is what so many pastors who blatantly show the body that their pride is more important to them when they sin than taking the necessary steps of repentance to please God. I commend him for his step of boldness. It shows me he has no fear of man but of God only. What about the rest of us including you. We all sin and will sin as long as we're in the flesh. I thank God for Dr. Evans' example and will be praying for his complete restoration!🙏🏾

I applaud Pastoe Evan’s for finally coming forth willing to undergo restoration process. I do wish any leader who is in a position of influence with those under their would be more forthcoming in stating where “they have fallen short” . I also believe as the church we need to do our own due diligence to search the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the fullness of judgment as it seems some believers think that means to wink at sin in the pulpit or be passively accepting . Yes we should be slow to judge and quick to forgive but I perceive it means be slow to the judge the heart, soul, spirit of a person but that does not apply to be slow to judge the actions, choices or consequences of sin. Anyone in a shepherding position whether a mega church or home church is a leader and held to the same standard. There can be beauty in Gods way of healthily restoring a brother, sister, leader etc back . The key seems to be owning our actions, confessing the sin, seeking forgiveness, undergoing the healing restorative process. We ALL have failed in some area, all have sinned but there is something so graceful when we come around the fallen individual and help support them finding their way back- not condone but help be a tool in Gods hands to bring about a restoration He desires for His children. I would much rather a person just own up to their shortcoming then keep covering, hiding or making excuses for it ♥️

Thank you again Joshua. Very graciously presented.
I wonder, if something has happened in a leader's past, if, at the beginning of a new pastorate, he should make the elders aware, at the very outset. Get it all out into the open and dealt with, not superficially, but properly. I appreciate & respect someone who is honest and open about past sin/s, including a leader, who steps down & gets the help they need. Some don't return to ministry, but live quieter lives, doing other work. I've heard about 2 such men, who no longer feel qualified to be in pastoral ministry. That seems so honourable, and deserving of respect. I sincerely hope they and their wives are blessed. All of us have done things which were wrong and serious. But there seems to be a current trend of restoring some leaders when they're really nowhere near ready, and that's troubling. It's such a responsible role, and yet so many just don't seem to realize or honour that.
We really need to be praying about this, and for those leaders who are doing their best.

The challenge we all have as believers & followers of Christ is this. None of us really know intimately, the people we believe are beyond reproach & without sin based on how we perceive them to be when they're in the pulpit. Especially when they've been in the pulpit for years. And all of the people we so highly esteem & respect, could be just as sinful as anyone else when the doors are closed & the lights are off, because perception isn't always reality. Now this can be true for someone who stands in the pulpit before millions, or someone who has a RUclips channel or any other platform as well. This is why we all need to be very careful when we decide to call out & magnify another man's sin, while the sins we commit go unnoticed. But GOD knows. So if it isn't done in love, it doesn't need to done at all...And finally this...This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5

You don’t need to know a sin to forgive. If you know Tony Evans, you know how seriously he takes his role as a pastor. What we consider a small sin, would be a big one to him. Your insinuation of the possibilities of sexual sin is reckless on your part. Your ideas on how it should have been handled, is just like having a mouth to speak, everyone has one. God’s word said we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I look at God’s word and think of what is there I think about how God talks about His Son Jesus being “tempted” to sin. I think of God saying His son was fully human. I think as Christians we should be talking as Christians exhibiting the Fruit of Christ Spirit and your broadcast should be devoted to that. We should not be comparing ourselves to Dr. Evans but how we as Christians should respond.

Let all the Pastors, leaders, and Christians who have sinned, follow Dr Toni Evan’s example. Not only is he acknowledging his sin, he is setting an example for younger, and older ministers to follow. We don’t need to know his sin, God knows it and the elders of his church know it. Pastor Robert Morris 35 years ago molested a 12 year old child until she was 17. He repented and stepped down from his position to go through counseling and restoration for a period of time. He was later restored to the ministry. He teaches the word, does not sugar coat it. He is really an annointed teacher. He has had no other allegations against him. He also has been transparent about what a terrible person he was, and how his wife could even have chosen him. The crushing blow to this is that the relationship was with a child. The child is now an adult victim remembering what happened to her. Disturbing is that his recent comments referred to the girl as a lady which shows there may still be some error in his thinking.
However he did repent and met with elders and the child’s family, and stepped down from his pastorate. But nothing legally was done. As a former Child Welfare Worker had legal charges been filed against him, and Children Services got involved there is a good chance the 12 year old would be removed from the home because the abuse was occurring in the family home with close family friends. Child was obviously left alone unsupervised on numerous occasions through the years with him. But he did repent and he is forgiven and has resigned as pastor. He was already planning to hand over his church to his son. He was covered and got treatment but who covered the child and got her treatment. Thus we have a wounded adult child victim demanding justice for what happened to her all those years ago. He was covered but who covered her. This matter was not handled correctly in my opinion because he was allowed to Pastor again and would have access to families and their children. And as stated even in his recent statement he said he had an inappropriate relationship with a young lady, not a child. Had he gone through arrest and conviction he would have been labeled a pedophile and would not be allowed to be around children unsupervised. Hopefully there will be no more allegations. Pray for the emotional healing of the victim. Why she waited so long to make allegation, and why now? Only she and God knows. She has an attorney, so we have to see if money is involved or politics . What triggered her now and not all those years before of living with this pain?
TD Jake’s is another prominent Pastor who has been accused. He allegedly stated if he did anything wrong he would tell God about it and God would forgive him. As far as I know he has never repented or stepped down. His name is also mentioned in a law suit against Combs. If he has done these things he needs to go through the process that Tony Evan’s has gone through. Where there ‘s smoke there is fire. He needs to clear the air, or else that allegation or allegations against him will be a stain crucifying Jesus afresh.

There has never been this much of the man of God. He has confessed what he did. It’s Hod who forgive. Why wasn’t as much publicity before now, while being what we thought he is and was. At least he confessed his wrongdoing, and made it clearly to whom needed to know. Instead of talking about what he did, let’s pray for him. Dr. Tony Evans didn’t put himself in the position, he was called, chosen and appointed to do so. If God forgive, that settles what you and myself thinks. As God forgives, so shall we.
