You don't know why they didn't sing, they might've been in shock because they're a really big fan and he might've saved his/her life. I recently saw fall out boy and Paramore after being a fan for seven years and they both saved my life. For the beginning of paramores set, I saw straight-up sobbing so I couldn't even sing along. ((Also, I was two rows away from the barricade)) for the beginning of fall out boys set, I was so in shock that I couldn't even move (at the least) hate is a strong word.
