Really??? Look up Nirvana live in Reading 1992. Watch the whole set. Kurt never had a backing track and he nailed every song. And they played the set as an actual 3 piece. That is how rock music is done. Not with fucking backing tracks.
ahahh do u know slipknot?? Corey taylor, the vocalist of slipknot, started doing LIVE CONCERTS WHEN HE WAS 20 YEARS OLD. Now. he is 42 and still continues to do LIVE concerts.... He cant even scream that loud now but he still pushes himself to the limit EVERY DAY... and yes hes a person, not a fake machine like oli. now you are asking yourself why does Corey still continues doing shows even when he cant scream? because he was born when real rock was playing on the radio so he was influenced by big bands, slayer and nirvana as an example....This band called "bring me the backing track " are just a couple of boys that think they know how to create proper music, like popstars. ( Sorry for my bad english, but plz dont defend oli.... theres tons of people that scream more than him and they dont just give up... )

really the only bad part of having a backing track is if you move the mic away from your mouth but the voice line plays anyway

I just want to point out to everyone that Oli can sing the clean parts and he can still scream out of this world. I saw them live in Chicago and it sounded great and it wasn't with pre recorded vocals.
I'm not a huge Bring Me the Horizon fan, but that has got to be one of the most original introductions to a live set I've ever seen.

+4killerCurtis I apologise I really thought English may be new to you. I recommend you look up the Oxford definition of scream, and screaming. Its all screaming. Although I can tell it is something you are passionate about, so if its a yell to you then thats fine. My point would be that it is really not necessary to compartmentalise or relabel vocal dekiveries that ultimately are all possible to include under the definintion of what would be a scream, or screaming. In fact it may help areas of the music spectrum where such vocal delivery is utilised more generally if the use of the word scream is utilised more generally. And if you are fond of heavier music, I would recommened relistening to the US band Beloved, who I have been enjoying again more recently. Have a good day, and enjoy screaming or yelling, however you describe it.

I love how 1.) They have a safety video (very educational) 2.) They still sound good live (there are some bands that make and sound good on audios by then you can't hear them live) 3.) They have such an amazing sound (not just this song) that sounds "scary" to people who don't listen to Rock and metal and they don't know how nice and awesome these guys are (idk from experience that these guys are nice but from everything I've heard they are)

what you all need to understand is that most bands use backing tracks in their songs to make their performance sound better. it doesnt replace their vocals, but gives a "vocal ambiance" effect to the performance. Thats why when Oli sings, his voice overpowers the track like 4 times over.
