That chip from under the tree on the first playoff hole is legendary. One of the greatest saves I've ever seen live right behind Bubba Watson at the Masters. Huge Congrats Max! I was rooting for Tony Finau, but so happy with the outcome especially after reading up on what Riviera means to you and your family. I'm the newest Max Homa fan!
Max and Shane Bacon have a podcast called, Get A Grip. I started following him then. Its so cool to get a golfers perspective on what they were thinking and doing during a tournament. Very personable and Shane does a great job as well. its fun to follow a guy who seems to be on the cusp of great things. I was so pumped following him today and rooting for him. Gave me all the feels you want as a sports fan. Check out the podcast if you havent. Here's hoping he keeps it up!
Lots of it is bad luck. When Homa's ball appeared to be up against the tree, Finau was over a 90 percent favorite to win. Still a big favorite even after Homa had some sort of shot. Webb Simpson made three puts in a row to beat him last year at the Waste Management. Finau was wearing a Laker's Jersey that day, due to Kobe Bryandt dying. I think Tony needs to concentrate on golf, stop being Mr. Nice Guy, fire everyone around him, and build his golfing legacy. CLose down the Foundation and stop trying to be a hero to the world. Play some golf.
@Williford Bustin you are dumb AF. If Tiger, or Jordan would have finished 2nd all the time, they would have never made the foundations they have for underprivileged people, or the massive donations to great causes, not to mention the hope they gave to millions of children to chase their dreams. No one finishing second all the time is an inspiration. Reality sucks, but you've just been slapped with it. Now go play for 2nd.
Love the hand grab with his caddie after the win. Can't believe Finau brushed him off on the congrats. Bad look for Tony, but I think he needs to stop being Mr. Nice Guy, anyways. For Finau, it is time to fire Boyd Summerhayes and the rest of his enablers, shut down the Tony Finau Foundation, and stop being a hero to anyone except his immediate family...and I mean immediate. Go it alone, play some golf, and shake off those tagging along and enabling you to under-achieve.
@@MMAjsf7 To me it looked like a brush off, and it also appeared that it caught Max off guard. When I went to make the post on Twitter about it, someone had already posted the same thing. Looked a bit quick to me.
Is it really that big a deal though.. didn't really alter what would have been said. Athletes need to be careful, cost them a lot of movie to catch covid. It's like wearing a mask.. people pitch a fit and cry but is it really that big a deal or inconvenience?? The answer is no. DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.
Seems like such a good kid. Makes him really easy to root for.

Wow, what a moment for Max. Great to see how massive it was for he and his caddy
Good guy. Good attitude. Nice swing. Congrats Max.
Gorgeous swing, clutch bunker player, great character. Hope this guy keeps winning
It’s unusual to hear these guys talking about Tiger Woods like he did, I would have thought they all knew each other on the PGA
Max only been out there for a couple years don’t even think he’s been paired with tiger
Yea he youngin in there
Homa is not Jim Furyk
Is it because tigers getting old? Man everyone looked up to tiger. He really made a huge impact on Golf.
he’s the GOAT anyone under 30 got into golf because of him
Better highlights finally
You talkin about that atrocious female robot voice vid that shows nothing but is somehow at the top of the search list?
Smooth swing held up under intense pressure. Well done.
Good highlights!
Great interview! Meant alot to him!
Love Max!!!! Huge win.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he were to lose the playoff after missing that short putt on 18.
Home sweet Homa for the win
*Can't wait for THE interview with the Podcast Get a Grip with Max Homa and Shane Bacon!!! Giftcards for everyone lol!!!*
Man DJ really fell apart near the end there
You are an observant little chap
He's wearing the magic shirt!
It's not easy to win at home unless you're name is Homa. Let's go get a green jacket in '23!
TF..come on man...that was so close
Can’t wait for the next pod #golf
Got dammit Tony
TONY SUCKS
Looked like "Peenawl" snubbed him on that hand shake. Did we have a sore loser?
@@anthonymclaughlin608 he could buy your life
...and where was tiger at the trophy presentation?
Happy for him but wish he would’ve lost. Wanted finau to finally get a win.
Cant believe how many times Finau keeps finishing NOT FIRST

@@jowinewbandz7056 I thought so too
Yeah boyyyy
5:35 - Jeez, practice social distancing much? Is it necessary for them to have this awkward, football field-apart interview?

Great win Max! (btw...good interview, smart!...simply stand 10 feet apart and don't wear the silly masks )
