Is there any chance for a free version of Heptabase because i believe a free version is also needed to gather as much people as possible and then make them your loyal customers

    Great interview from all of you.
    It is so refreshing to see someone with some great ideas and strong vision that has grown from a real handson need. I love the fact that the evolution of design is a “stand-back” considered process… The fact that the workflow seems to be an integral part of the design process rather than building a bloated toolbox is very encouraging. This reminds me of things-3 which imo is the ultimate in good UI design where the developers avoided the temptation to add a multitude of bells and whistles and kept the design brilliantly simple using some deep user centric thinking.
    Alan’s happy enthusiasm is contagious and the session was a really easy and clear watch.
    I am very new to heptabase but will be giving a good go over the next few days. I do wish the trial period was a little longer (life can often get in the way in a 7 day period) as the cost is quite high for an individual user. This said I am pretty sure I will want to progress beyond the trial as for me Alan has said all the right things!
    Also great videos from paperless as usual .. look forward to more videos of this nature and hope to hear from you all again in not too distant future

    I love the vision of Alan. I don't really need a tool for thinking but I still consider signing up to Heptabase just for the careful consideration the team has with adding new features. It feels like there is no bloat. For my use case it would be a supercharged version of Trello without the rigidity.
    I would love to have more ways to capture content though. Like Capacities have a Telegram and a Whatsapp bot that you can send stuff to your journal with. Giving the people the choice on how to capture things.

    I think a better name for this tool could have been something like, “frictionless” or “smooth” or “flow”, which would focus more on the feeling of using the tool rather than the tool or the functions themselves.

    • @tomsolidPM
      @tomsolidPM Год назад +1

      I prefer (and recommend) to use unique names for branding, such as Heptabase. A bad example what can happen if tools switch names would be Integromat when they switched to Make. It's hard to search for content around this tool now...try to find a Make tutorial without finding tutorials about how to make tutorials... ;)

    • @ksoonsoon
      @ksoonsoon Год назад +1

      @@tomsolidPM Agreed. I was just feeling the cool vibe of the user experience that feels so much better than other tools. For me personally, that includes transitioning from all of the extensive learning I had to have in Obsidian over to another tool that just works better and it’s more intuitive. That intuitive nature is significant. I know many try to accomplish it, but in the end there is just so much complex action required in order to get things done.
      I’ve already made at least another post somewhere regarding how important the training videos will be for this tool. One of the things I really liked was Pacos mind map. All you f that seemed to come pretty quick to him and it’s not coming as quick to me. I’d sure love to see how he created that and just see a work session on it. For me that is one of the building blocks of where I want to go with this tool.

      You are correct. We do our best to save busy professional’s time cutting the “fluff” or especially the “uhms” and “ehms” and pauses. If there is a situation where it sounds choppy, we’ve decided that this is still a better result than publishing the original. Of course, the sense of a sentence or message will not be affected or changed by those edits. This being said, we are consistently working to further improve our editing skills to make those edits a lot more subtle. So thanks for your feedback 💚
