Love the way you described these skis. Looks like great product. Some time ago I watched Deb Armstrong talking and skiing with Bode Miller and Franz Klammer when he actually was skiing on those skis and describing what they are and how they are build . Very interesting technology and design. Thanks for an upload, love your jacket :))
Appreciate the comment! And thanks I love my hoodie, it's been with me 6 years now, however our photographer hates it 😂
@@nathansaier Photographer doesn,t know what's good :))
I got an email from Peak offering BOGO. It took me about 8 seconds to make that decision! Got two pairs of 88's and gave one to my son. Maiden voyage was at Stratton, VT with 6 to 10 inches of wet new snow. I skied the morning on my carvers, Blizzard T-birds, and it was hard work. By lunch they had mounted the new Tyrolia Protector Attack bindings and I was out all afternoon in that same stuff on the Peaks. Easy peasy! They floated, edged and busted effortlessly. They are as good as the best ski I've ever demoed - the Stockli AX, and much less expensive. When in doubt - get 'em!!!
Crosson Skis yesterday, Peak today, some other 'world beating' brand tomorrow.
Are they worth the premium price?
It could go either way. I'd recommend trying them out if this ski meets your niche, and you appreciate the torsional flex of this construction then likely yes. If this is just another ski in your quiver prolly not. Try them if they blow you away go for it, but the other option is they run pretty regular promotions from including bindings to BOGOF which definitely makes them much more wallet friendly.
These will be average at best. Just because someone slaps their name on something means nothing. I've owned 10 different pairs of skis over the years that do all this ... Or more!
Ad or review? The language used tell me the former.
Go check my respo, to nl7002!
Gotta be the dumbest graphic in the history of ski making; maybe just the graphic of an acorn with a silhouette of Bodie's head. ..yeah, thats the ticket..
Not gonna disagree but, Gotta think about it in terms of demographics new brand launching onto the scene using the name of a legacy athlete. Needed to create the top sheets and branding with the widest appeal especially within the classic ski demographics. Good news is that's just their first year, go take a look at the 24's and the special editions and let me know if you think it's an improvement!
The Peak logo looks concerningly like the Blizzard logo imo, surprised no lawsuits have happened yet
this is an ad. No wonder you don't see them being reviewed by the usual ski review channels... They're a mimic and way overpriced. Don't fall for it.
Ha! We could have gotten paid for this video and we do get offers to review stuff for pay. We intentionally turned down any payment and ensured that our opinions were our own. With that said if you think they're a gimmick (or mimic?) hmu and I'd love to let you try some. I have mixed feelings about some and love others. As for not being reviewed by other channels, that's mostly cause they're brand new but I do think outside magazine put them on the cover of the gear issue.
Not a fan of the esthetic
Ha! You're probably not the only one, I admittedly have mixed feelings about it. It's definitely targeted towards the core demographics. However the good news is top sheets change every year and some of their special addition graphics have been pretty cool. This year they have a green/teal combo I'm obsessed with (I think on the 98)
