I love option # 2....I love to watch your thrifting videos..you really do take the time to show alot of decor..most thrifters will only video what they like, and they go so fast..I appreciate the time n effort you put into all of your videos...tfs..hopd yall have a safe n great memorial day weekend...

I go to the Dollar Tree and Dollar General stores and buy the fabric dish dryer mats. I use them as liners in my dishes and glasses cupboards. They dont scrunch up like contact shelf liners. I also put them on top of my dryer and washer. When I need to lay a sweater flat to dry, it can lay on dryer and washer tops with that pad beneath it. It also looks nice just as a topper for those appliances and keeps them from getting scratched up. . Just a couple ideas, ya'll.
Oh ...you faked us out in the Lamp Aisle... you looked at the clock and not a lamp ! LOL!!!! LOVE option 2 👍. That is a beautiful pillow and what a perfect match.

I heard this lady in Goodwill who said she has "big hungry guys" in her family, so she started collecting mid-size platters rather than dinner plates. She said an oval platter holds more and so everyone can fill up their plate and dig in, and if you are eating while watching football or a movie, an oval platter is easier to balance on your lap. Sounded smart to me...and I have 43 family members at holidays, so I have started collecting mid-size white oval platters with various patterns on rims. They stack well and balance great too. Every adult member of my family loved the idea!
The brass planter is nice. I like option 2 for the pillows. I used my casserole holder for my vintage cookbooks.

If you put your lavender in the ground it will grow bigger and better every year😀...also..love that pillow on your bed...no. 2 look...hands down.

@Pam Walmsley - I was thinking the same thing about the lavender, Pam! 💜 And in the fall, Julie, when your plant is HUGE and has spread from growing all summer, perhaps you could divide the plant 🪴and bring part of it inside to enjoy as a potted plant for the Winter and repeat the process in the Spring by replanting the house plant outside again to expand your lavender even further. Kind of like having your cake 🎂 and eating it, too❣😋💜

Going on and that chair would also if you have room for it I'm just saying that those things would look so great together course I'm not paying for it but just

Everything you purchased and staged is beautiful, as always. I had to rewatch the video this morning. I tried watching last night, but I was so tired, I kept dozing off and missing everything. You seem to have a good sense of humor, so I wanted to share what I did with a bunch of antique looking picture frames I bought at Goodwill. I found crazy photos in old magazines and funny cards...people that were holding shotguns menacingly, smoking big cigars, Victorian prim ladies with scowls, bawdy Western-style saloon women in revealing attire etc. I scanned these photos in brown sepia ink...so they looked authentic. Then in my recreation room, I hung them with little index cards beneath each photo, explaining "Great-great- grandma Hattie Hatfield with her shotgun...aimed at her neighbors...the McCoys" and "Great-great-grandfather William Kidd, on horseback trying to catch a train ride" etc. just the craziest far-fetched history lessons I could put beneath each photo. It is fun to watch friends and younger family members reading "our family ancestors' colorful and wicked pasts!" lol!
I like option 2 for the pillows.

Hi Julie! I love option 2. BTW there was a little ceramic teapot you picked up and I thought that would look so cute on a coffee stand holding some teabags.The Norman Rockwell plates are stunning like you said. I love anything Norman Rockwell! Keep on Thrifting!

Those plates have Norman Rockwell illustrations on them he drew/painted for the Saturday Evening magazine for five decades. There are many items with his replicated work on them. I liked pillows with the brown one matched the one in your book on the bed. -Lorie Beesley

I would have grabbed that adorable brown “tea pot” planter for 99 cents. Also I love the 2nd look with the basket in the silver look casserole holder! So cleaver for holding fruit and veggies.

I have a collection of English flower pattern platers. (All different patterns) I have them in a 1950/60 record holder with slats and shelves. Absolutely love it. It’s in my kitchen.

Hi Julie you always have the best haul and great ideas. I like option 2 with the pillow on your bed. I always like mixing what I like together. I wanted to let you know the Norman Rockwell plates came in a set of 12. You ordered them through the mail one at a time. I think the name of the series was Rediscovered Women series. I had a set at one time, but gave them to my daughter many years ago.

I recognized the platter, I have the same one and it came with a soup tureen. My Mom gave it to me 30+ years ago. I have never thought to just use the platter before.

Great video. You could always put some beautiful different round plates in front of the wicker round baskets above your cabinets. It would be so nice to seen the combination. The brass planter is on my list. Loved it! Your bed dressings are gorgeous. I honestly love your decorating techniques

Well, I came to investigate your content, and stayed because of the music!---Anyway. I'm a nurse who does not do 'home' well. I have multiple collections, and have too much other stuff cluttering my house. (After multiple family members have come and gone, their stuff is around too...grr!) Your enthusiasm is admirable. Maybe, if I watch enough of your videos, and if the stars all line up, some of you might rub off on me (historically, I doubt it, but I can always hope!)

You remind me so much of myself. I used to live in Houston. I would get up on Saturday, leave at 9am & thrift till about 5pm. There are SO many shops in Houston. Also I'm 73 now ,& until this year I never but blue in my house. I'm I'm trying it now. Its different.

I personally don’t know much about them but I buy them for her when I run across them! I do know that a lady at a yard sale was selling her collection for hundreds of dollars but....

Good choice on the pillow. I also thrift did a casserole caddy just like the one you got, but it’s too big for me to put anywhere. I can’t put it on my refrigerator because I have cabinets up there. Maybe I will just look for a casserole dish and use it to serve macaroni when my family comes over. I enjoy your thrifting videos

Hi Julie! There were so many things I would have picked up today: the platter, that metal dish, the trinket box, the blue bunny (I have a friend who loves bunnies), that little candle holder, the Wilton Baker piece and the red & white table runner. I also think that option 2 was the better one but either one was realy pretty. Have a good holiday weekend and pet Piper for me!

Option 2; the flowers 💐 on your new throw pillow are old-fashioned roses. The kind our great grandmothers would have had in their gardens with the lovely spicy-rose scent that would permeate the air with fragrance, unlike the hybrid roses of today with almost no scent. I can see why you would think they are peonies, though, Julie, with their large and lush "blowsy" blooms, which peonies also have. They are "double old roses" that were especially valued in the 1800's for their fragrance and ability to withstand the Texas heat. Women back then didn't have the time to "coddle" roses and quickly winnowed out the varieties that couldn't thrive in extremely hot and dry conditions. They had too many other things to do, like making bread and everything else "from scratch", LOL❣😊 Oh, how I admire those women‼️👍

If someone shows what they bought, usually it's at the end of the haul and we don't often get to see how the items are used or styled, unless it is in another video.
