Hey there Igor and in the puzzle of the day isnt there a mate like i see some checkmates and can't we just play Ng4 instead of sacrificeing our queen to get a draw by repetition Like Ng4 He takes with rook, queen h2 mate He pushes the h pawn to h3 Well then sacrifice the queen by playing Qxh3 and after rook captures Nxf2 is mate He checks us with Qe6+ Kg7, Qg6+ and we can just run our king and if they take our pawn Nxf2 is mate and if they do nothing then still Nxf2 is mate If rook g1 to f1 then Qxh2 is mate alsi when pushing the pawn to h3 after Ng4 we don't even need to sacrifice our queen like we can go Nxf2 and then when Kh2 then we take their h pawn with our queen and it would be a mate as the rook is pinned. Like try whatever u want and it is a checkmate and there is no way to stop it like why should we go for a draw when we have all these checkmated . Let me know if i am wrong and if i have missed anything.
Qxh2 then after recapture keep checking with the knight on g4 or f2, the rook cant recapture due to bishop pin and the king is stuck on h file due to pawns
At 8.07 1.g4 Nxg4 2. Ng3 Bg6 3. Qxg4 Nxa1 4. Bg5 and soon Rxa1. Alternative 1.g4 Nxg4 3. Ng3 Qh4 and then 4. h3 Qxg3 or 4. Re1 Qxh2+ and a hard time for white to defend.
I've had games where I was winning but made critical mistakes and ending up losing. I recently was losing a game, but the person I was playing hung his queen, allowing me to win the game. Then played games where I was losing, then found a way to go after the enemy king and win. I've used the tactic of attacking when attacked and gotten out of some bad situation.
@@Kratos19086 u hang your knight on g4 After knight takes rook, just take the pawn on b7 and give check on c6 using your light square bishop. May be hard to visualize for you but you can always use the analysis board with the engine off
Hello Igor, I was recently playing chess when I thought how do you know when your opponents move is a innovation,correct move or simply a mistake. In this game I remembered your advice from one of your video's where you say "just ask yourself what is wrong with his move? So I did that and won easily 1.d4 d5 2.c4 Nf6 3.cd Nxd5 4.e4 Nf6 5.Nc3 b6 this is where I asked "what is wrong with his move? I saw the hole at c6 and thought why not play Bb5+ and occupy the c6 hole. 6.Bb5+ he should have played 6...c6 but instead he played ... Nbd7? 7.e5 Nf6 8.Bc6 Rb8 9.Qf3 e6 10.Ne2 Be7? 11.0-0 h6 12.Bf4 Bg5 13.Rfd1 Ne7? 14.d5 Bb7? 15.Bxb7 Rxb7 16.de c6 17.exd7 Rxd7 18. Rxd7 Qxd7 19.Rd1 Nd5 20.Nxd5 0-0 21.Nf6+ and my opponent resigned.
For the puzzle I would say Nf4 threatening mate with Qxh2, and rook can't take it (Rxf4) because of the same Qxh2 (now the queen would be defended by the bishop in d6)? So the remaining thing to do for the white after Nf4 is to perpetually check the black king with the queen or lose material (Rg1g2, fxg6, Rg3g2...)
13:12 Knight G4 wins. Threatens checkmate in 1 two seperate ways. If the rook drops back to defend pawn takes rook. If white makes a passive move then knight captures pawn on F2 or Queen captures pawn on H2 both are checkmates. White has material advantage but also a losing position
Puzzle: queen sacrifice h2, king takes, knight h4 check, (rook can't take it is pinned by bishop) king h1, knight f2, king h2, knight back to h4 and again and again!!!
Nxg4 to take at Nxf2 and checkmate or after Nxg4 play Qxh2 and it's also a checkmate if he takes Rxg3 to capture our knight then Qxh2 checkmate protected by bishop
2:42. That was a terrible move from Black. The only thing the king has to do is move to H1, and your strategy is done for. Now both your queen and rook are under attact. And if you try to take on H4 and check the king, yes you manage a queen trade, but you still lose to Rook F8 Checkmate. What a bad position to learn from.
I'm pretty sure you can take the pawn on h4 with check and it's a fine position for you because they have to trade queens and you can slide your king over to escape the mate threat after they move their king back to g1
Wait a second… In the Gukesh-Ding example, Can’t white just play Kh1 and still be winning? If Qxc4, Qxh8+ followed by xc4? What am I missing? Edit: Oh… Qxh4+ Qxh4, Rxh4+ Kg1, Rh8 and black is fine. It would’ve been helpful to see that variation for me. Is Rf2 to block the check not still winning? Someone help.
I’m not too sure myself, but my best guess is you block its sight with Ne4, since that square is no longer defended by the knight, or I think a better move is Be4, since that leads to Knight takes rook, Bishop takes bishop and now threatens the other knight, knight moves away, your dark squared bishop opens the path for the queen to take the knight.
@@scionescire Why Kf8 , when Kg7 is possible ? And I don't think that black needs to draw or white has perpetual checks. Ng4 just wins the game on the spot.
8:06 in this situation as black I would just take with knight Ng4 I was waiting for an explanation what to do then as white, but unfortunately there was no explanation ( ˘︹˘ )

Rule-3 countering knight fork: Nf6 takes g4 … two pawns up for black

ng4 doesn’t win. qe6+ leads to perpetual by white after the only move kf8.

Good one Igor.......😂😂 it's just a Rook.....Chill bruv ........ happy holidays by the way 🌹
In #3, why wouldn't they take the attacking G pawn w/the knight (instead of the bishop), thus preserving the fork and escape protection?
Puzzle: queen sacrifice h2, king takes, knight h4 check, (rook can't take it is pinned by bishop) king h1, knight f2, king h2, knight back to h4 and again and again!!!
In the third example, white doesn’t just have a rook for the queen, but a rook and the sacrificed bishop.
