It seems like when you have a substantial amount of people in our community who have not had to properly take care of their natural hair and are ignorant about our own hair for generations upon generations only to then come across those of us that are educated on our hair and have always been natural or who have transitioned to our natural hair and have some length, it actually makes them dumbfounded. I know that I permanently ruined my edges because I wore sewn in weaves in my early twenties and my hair edges never fully recovered, point is, so many of our sisters have lost their hair that they have to wear weaves and braids and then you walk into the room with hair to your bottom or past your bra strap and they refuse to believe it is possible. Yes, it's almost like our people are living in this archaic age. Some of our sisters don't even remember what their own natural hair looks like. Also I think it puts them in their feelings because once they realize how beautiful natural hair is and that we have been running away from our natural beauty and that we look like goddesses with this luxurious hair that no one can truly mirror because our hair was meant only for us...it takes them to a place of wow, we were taught that stringy flat long hair was the standard of beauty, maybe they were jealous.

      Good evening Connie.
As usual I agree with you and you have stated your pieces so eloquently.
I can understand where the jealousy/envy comes from, however: instead of being jealous a conversation with that woman and get some advice.
Interestingly enough, I have never liked straight , flat , stringy hair, even when I was relaxed I uses do wear my hair in big curls. When I do straighten my hair I am tired of it after about a week.
I agree , a lot of woman only know relaxed hair and we’re never taught how to take care for their natural hair and when something is foreign to someone they typically shun especially if deep down that want it.

Because we’re so accustomed to wigs and weaves, when we wear our natural hair in it’s kinky state it’s “unruly” and “undone.”
So many people within the blk community and outside of it, have commented things that truly hurt. As you constantly get beat down so much, it’s forces you to assimilate. What else can you do?
I think once we break out of that mindset, as a community we can began to move forward in loving ourselves. Then the people outside the community will began to follow suit.
      Loved every point you made.

There are a lot of black uneducated men that add to the bs. With them always talking trash about a black womans hair that doesn’t help.

I was at Wal-Mart earlier this week an Asian woman asked me if my natural textured was real. Mind you my hair is 4b/4c. I wore it in a Afro on that day. I was so beyonddddd shocked😮😮

Love these hair talks! I completely agree it's crazy how black people always have to try and prove our worth through our hair, clothes, etc. It's also crazy because there are a lot of videos of black women cutting their hair and all the comments are pressed, it's like they want us to have long hair but refuse to believe it when we do!

    • @KlassicallyKept

Hello Lalaliacat! Thank you! I have had so much fun doing them.
Lol I agree , dammed if we dammed if we don’t. Like the experience I gave: you asked a question, I answered it, you may not have likes or believed the answer but it was the truth.
Thank you for your support !

Hello mastering life. I think a lot of black women are. Like I mentioned in the video there was another trend questioning how black women are affording luxury and at the end of the day it’s really none of your business, she bought it and now she is wearing it.
You asked the question, I answered it, move on. I don’t mind answering questions the first time, but once I give the answer or the explanation move on please.
I think for a lot or black women it’s a problem because usually when this happens they are minding their own business.
Also if you don’t feel like explaining yourself I completely understand and respect that as well, in certain situations I am starting to feel the same way.
      Thank you for watching.

It's disgusting!! Fake until proven real stems from jealousy. People wish their hair looked like others, but if they can believe the person's hair is fake then there's nothing for them to be jealous of. Smh sad

    • @minamuse3965
      @minamuse3965 Год назад +2

That’s not exactly true. Why do always think people are jealous of you? 🙄 it’s weird how some people will say anything to make themselves feel like they are it. If anyone is jealous it would be you since it’s most BLACK women who spend so much of their time and money to imitate and look like they have white (straight/ wavy - blonde) ppls hairs. When the majority of blck women wear hair that doesn’t grow out of their skull then that becomes the norm for that specific demographic. Wigs and weaves are associated with black women because they obviously are leading in that department so it comes as a surprised or different when they see you without it. And because they are use to see wigs on BW of course it’s natural to assume that that person might be wearing one when really they might have the real hair out that particular day. Don’t be crying and frustrated that people question your hair because that’s the imagine blck women put out their to the world.

You are absolutely right. They get jealous then write think pieces trying to convince themselves of how jealous they aren't. It's very tacky.

I have microlocs & I have always had fast growing hair but some ppl will try to start a convo and ease their hand up to try and touch or pull my hair. When I go out to the Grocery store or run errands I just wear a Headwear to protect my hair & my energy. Please keep making these hair talk videos. I do get asked am I mixed with anything smh

Mya, It amazes me how people don't believe Black women can grow long hair. I don't think it is my responsibility to prove anything to anybody. I love hair, however I don't think anyone should have to prove their hair is real. I'm like you...I don't care. ITA...unfortunately, it's mostly us (other Black Women). Arguments are so unnecessary. I am not familiar with the youtuber that performs pranks. I am surprised he didn't sustain any injuries either snatching peoples wigs off. Crazy!!! (I like your M & D t-shirt and matching head wrap). 😉

That was my first thought, lol , like this man didn’t get beat up?
Thank you lol. Those are our company shirts , we were getting ready to get on the truck and David took it upon himself to cut the grass, so I said let me knock out this video.
It is amazing that other communities and ours don’t think we can grow long hair. I don’t have to prove anything, you should be able to tell by watching my videos. I’d you ask and I answer, accept the answer and move on lol.

Wow! I found this video at the right time to share my experience. A few days ago I wore my hair down and stretched out in its natural state, no perm. My hair is bra strap length and thick, 4a/4b type. I put a bandana in it and headed out to do some grocery shopping. As soon as I step foot in the store, I felt everyone's eyes on me! Especially them Caucasian ladies. I knew it was the hair! Every isle I went in I was getting stares and hater looks! I was uncomfortable at first but after a while I found it to be funny! I wish I was wearing a shirt that said, "I am melanated and yes I have long hair" 😂 😂🤔🙂
Used the word melanated because I don't like using the word" black".

It’s not a vain issue. Paul says a woman’s covering is her uncut hair, and that nature teaches this. The body is important. It will be resurrected, John 5:28.

It happens when people see blk women with long locs dreadlocks first question someone ask what hair did the person use some women have long locs to their butt people will say things like she wouldn’t have long hair if she didn’t have locs which is funny because locs are still hair that has to be washed & moisturize on a regular basis in order to grow just like loose natural hair it takes at least 10 years of taking care of locs for them to grow long people need to stop bashing us

I have 3b/3c hair type and black and white people walk up to me to inspect my hair to see it it is real. I am tired of people thinking they have the right to do this. My hair is just above bra strap length. Because regardless of my hair texture if they think it is weave okay it weave and keep it moving. I assume everyone hair is real. I had black women do rude shit to me in church and other places. When they should learn how to grow their hair. Once a natural black women was rude to me because she could not get her hair pass shoulder length. I was trying to help get pass that length. She was rude and nasty. So I left her alone But I feel black women are the worse when it comes to being supportive of other women. Sometimes I just want to cut my hair off because all the work and the harassment is too much. My hair is color-treated also that is the main reason people should be able to see it is my real hair, But they still walk up on me to see if it is real.
