Hey guys, I love your videos and watch all the time, I know I seem like a downer, but I've just completed my course in international development and know the effects that volunteerism can have, especially on the children in short-term volunteer programs. When people aren't teachers and go teach in another country for two weeks or less it can be unstable for the kids as they become attached to the teacher and suddenly they leave and never come back. I thought volunteering was fantastic until I learnt about it. The main thing is, do your research and find good organisation, be skilled in what you are trying to teach and make sure it's as long as possible or multiple times over a period of time. You probably already know some of this stuff, but just wanted to pass on what I've learnt :) keep posting guys- keen to see what you get up to!
those kids are so cute! you guys try your best and that's all that matters, really inspired to live out there and try this for a few months in the future(: I'm so looking forward to the animals tho!!
Hey guys! I'm from Melbourne so here's another Australian viewer :) I was just wondering what is the name of the volunteer company you're using or how to get into it? sounds amazing and would love to look into it!
