I hope you had a good week.
I went shopping at Hermes, Chanel and Balmain. I saw quite a few beautiful bags and ready-to-wear pieces.
We started from Hermes, I saw my absolute favourite Hermes Kelly Ado backpack in pink. It’s so beautiful, I previously saw it in brown too. Apparently it only come in one size. I was a bit disappointed that SA didn’t let us try the backpack. Of course it was not available for sale too. However if I came with my husband or rather asked my husband to go and get it for me, I would have a much higher chance of getting it. To me this is quite ridiculous that in the 21st century I have to do this. 15 out of 17 women that I know were only able to get their first Hermes Birkin or Kelly after their boyfriend or Husband enquired regarding it. By the way I didn’t realise that apparently Kelly Ado is in the same category as Birkin and Kelly bags, aka impossible to get.
These 15 women shopped in the UK, US, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.
Does Hermes think that a woman can’t afford to buy a bag in 2020 herself and should only expect a man to buy it? I still can’t wrap my head around this 🤯 I am not saying that it’s not a good thing if your partner buys you a bag, not at all. I just think that nowadays we should have a freedom of choice to treat ourself and buy a bag for ourselves if we want to.
What is your view regarding this? I’ve never seen anyone complain about it on RUclips, maybe the “old fashioned approach” by this brand is totally ok?
Also, many of you have been recommending that I check the Chanel 19 bag in small size. I finally got to try it and I have to say the bag looks quite cute. I love it in blue. However I am still a bit cautious that it’s a seasonal bag. It might get discontinued, just like Chanel GST bag. The value for this bag has gone down to. Hopefully this won’t be the case.

Anytime ive ever seen a Chanel 19 in public I never say to myself wow stunning, it’s actually kind of underwhelming and I forget about it. But I’ve seen some girls and guys wearing the classic flap and some of them have been so memorable.

Hello, everything was flattering on you even the fringe jacket at the end😊. I’ve had good experiences in Hermes. If I want something I buy it. I know the hoops for the B and K. Years ago I stopped buying to buy, so I ask if I want but I only buy what I want. I always say to myself “ whether they are nice or not, they are working for ME”. I already have a Birkin and Kelly that I love. Anything is gravy to me.

I can't belive this. This is gender discrimination, and it's against the law... at list in my country it's punishable by law of course you have to have prove It with witnesses at least...I don't know others countries laws, especially Singapore's laws, but I'm sure that this behaivior is not permitted in most of them... if I were in your place it would not end here.

Your Hermès experience doesn’t even make sense! This man had to be new or out of his mind. I have several friends who have purchased bags at Hermès...they are unattached. Two are widows and one is divorced. No man bought these for them. I’m also a widow...I intend to purchase a bag in the very near future. My money ... my choice. You should report your experience to corporate ASAP. .

I love that you mentioned crash landing on you! Her designer dresses on that show were stunning. I’m so guilty of seeing a show and wanting the piece for myself. And I feel the same way about the 19 bag. Not a fan of the logo. And it looks too casual for the price you’re paying.

I like Hermes' designs but their approach is extremely outdated and the games they play is frustrating. If you're a paying customer, you're a paying customer.
On a lighter note, I liked the Chanel jacket dress better on you even though it was larger. The details were just more interesting and elegant. It's a Little Black Dress but not standard or simple.

In Manila the SA’s at the Hermes store are very accomodating. I went there alone without my husband and ask for items i want to try on and they will really let you try and even take a photo for future purchase. I guess the SA on that store is not that friendly i guess or assumed you will just try it on and not purchase it. That is why I prefer not to shop in Singapore. Feel Sorry for your experience.

Dear I have a question that lovely c19 bag - would you say the color is more accurately shown in the excerpt where you wear it in store photographed towards the mirror (where it looks like a strong medium blue) or the photo where it is put
On the counter (where it shows lighter like a sky blue )? I was told by SAs that this seasons „blue“ on the website that looks like sky blue is the same as last year s so I did not wait for it and got last

Hello, to bad the balmain blazer dress was so short so stunning. Even if they let the hem down probably wouldn't be long enough, the grey blazer was great.I just don't understand why they would make these dresses so short knowing the age group buying them.thanks again for shopping trip the mall is beautiful especially the water display. It has nothing to do with your husband or a man, believe me my husband has tried to get me a bag for 10 years lol. It's the money you spend on other things. Men are more likely to get "tricked" into spending money on ties, shoes, wallets etc. Women know what they want and asks directly for only the bag, then they will not sell it to you! This is why they are called "quota bags". If you spend a lot of $$$$ on other non-bag items at the same store they will after a while offer you a Kelly, Birkin or Constance. :) But we are talking a serious amount, like $10 000 on other Hermes items! That's a lot if you are only interested in the bag.People therefore tend to bulid a slow relationship with one SA and spend a little over a few years. :) If you wan't to get a bag on a "walk-in" Paris is def the place to go!

Black and Gold Style This is a thing they said about the Paris store in the past. That if your husband asks to buy it as a wedding gift etc it could be easier. But that again was because it’s so rare for men to buy expencive gifts for their wives in Europe it could actually work lol. If you have a store near by you that for real would sell a bag to your husband...I mean, make him go right now!!!!! :)

Hermès has the best quality in "leather" goods, like Christian Dior & Chanel in outfits.
So only compare within a same category, or you'll always get disappointed.

In that condition, no staff would "dare" allow first-time customers to touch it. But they should've told you the truth and asked you for understanding! It's a vicious cycle, rich clients get snobby at sales persons and as time goes by, sales persons get snobby at customers.....

Love the blue Balmain, wish I could find. Regarding Hermès, that’s just their way and makes them unique and special. With all this chaos and removing history and heritage in the US, I like some sort of protocol and procedures. We need to stop catering to these spoiled demands of uncultured people who are unhinged because of their insecurities. I’m sure there are those who disagree but I don’t care, I like tradition, heritage and gentlemen who would take the time to come and buy a Hermès bag with me, like mine did. Made it a special experience.

All of my wife’s friends and my wife got them . You don’t need a man , in fact I tried to buy one and was refused but my wife was offered.
