Occasionally they got a new one several times in a row, even when there were only a few left. It's super rigged in your favor. I was able to do it on my switch too.

Slopes come later in the video as SimpleFlips says that slopes in this game don't accelerate you as much as in the New Super Mario games... the truth is that slopes have always accelerated a lot more since their first implementation on Super Mario Bros. 3, to the point that it feels like a broken mechanic, but that's fun, idk why Nintendo nerf'd slopes.
Sad to see that this series is over. I'd love for him to do another marathon race like this with Bandy or Marcus in the future. I do wonder where the run of the 3DS mario game with that wasn't just the coin farming
51:30 You can actually just hit down to leave the ceiling, makes this section really easy bc every jump lines up perfectly. If you need a charged jump there’s enough time for it and if it’s a non charged jump there’s not enough space to charge one.

The game took me 20 hours in total and it was my first try, so "blind", SimpleFlips did it in 14 and a half hours, yet he played the game before and did it quickly, so i guess i did well, idk. Is pretty annoying, i didn't willingly use any badges the entire game, so i was very lost in the details of how they work, specially this last one, but i'm not stuck there, where i got stuck was the hopping section, i read someone saying that was the hardest section besides the ending. Anyways, i feel like this stage gives you plenty of time to react and as SimpleFlips did, i decided to not buy lives and eat those game overs, so far i did a 6 hour session between 2 days in february and did another one of less than an hour recently, so i left the game for like 4 months and did so much better in a few minutes and reached the timestamped part, so i feel good with my skills, but yes, this is the only stage that has poised a challenge i can comfortably call difficult for me in this game, i wish they did more difficult stages... the first stage has to be the easiest stage in any mario game, yet not the easiest first world oddly enough. Even though i still haven't passed it, compared to the final stage in Super Mario Galaxy 2 that took me like a year, this is way easier or i'm better idk.

It's pretty short (3-5 hours depending on completion) and is a silly metroidvania style adventure. It has a dream-like aesthetic and the story is pretty sparse.
