Good melody is a must in a famous song in indonesia. But a good lyrics too will make it immortal.
There are also a lot of old days musicians like Ebiet G Ade with his song "Berita kepada Kawan" which aoften become the song to sing at art lesson in school
But yes. Most of the famous songs are romance. Since Indonesia is still very eastern minded, the songs are more inclined to talk about life love and laugh in polite way. To talk about love in terms of physical way is tend to be seen as vulgar if you get what i mean🤭
